Graph Neural Networks(GNNs)have become a widely used tool for learning and analyzing data on graph structures,largely due to their ability to preserve graph structure and properties via graph representation ***,the effect of depth on the performance of GNNs,particularly isotropic and anisotropic models,remains an active area of *** study presents a comprehensive exploration of the impact of depth on GNNs,with a focus on the phenomena of over-smoothing and the bottleneck effect in deep graph neural *** research investigates the tradeoff between depth and performance,revealing that increasing depth can lead to over-smoothing and a decrease in performance due to the bottleneck *** also examine the impact of node degrees on classification accuracy,findin. that nodes with low degrees can pose challenges for accurate *** experiments use several benchmark datasets and a range of evaluation metrics to compare isotropic and anisotropic GNNs of varying depths,also explore the scalability of these *** findin.s provide valuable insights into the design of deep GNNs and offer potential avenues for future research to improve their performance.

Ethidium bromide(EtBr)is one of the contaminants recorded in aquatic environments whose effects have been investigated;however,there is still limited knowledge about its *** study examined the potential protective effects of Spirulina platensis(SP)against the effects of EtBr toxicity in the Nile tilapia(Oreochromis niloticus)*** were divided to five groups,viz.,a control and four treatment groups of low-dose EtBr(10μg/L),low-dose EtBr with SP(10μg/L EtBr+200 mg/L SP),high-dose EtBr(100μg/L),and high-dose EtBr with SP(100μg/L EtBr+200 mg/L SP);the exposure period was 2 *** and high doses of EtBr induced alterations in some hematological,biochemical,and histopathological *** hepatocytes,degenerated area,vacuolated hepatocytes,pyknotic nuclei,constricted and dilated blood sinusoids,and infiltration of inflammatory cells were *** peroxidation concentration was not significantly different in groups exposed to low doses of EtBr and EtBr with SP,but it was increased in groups exposed to high doses of EtBr and EtBr with SP,compared with the control *** feedin. with SP,most histological and histochemical parameters restored to normal ***,SP may possess the ability to preserve the structural integrity of the hepatic and renal membranes.

Recently,research on hydrogel materials with a porous structure and superior water absorption capabilities significantly ***,the hydrogel under gravity-driven separation conditions often exhibit an unstable pore structure,poor mechanical properties,and limited *** this end,this work presents a novel approach that combines a macro-micro double bionic strategy with a triple crosslinking method to develop a multifunctional alginate composite hydrogel filter(2%-SA-κCG-PVA-Ca^(2+),2%-SKP-Ca^(2+)for short)with a stable pore structure and superior mechanical properties,which possessed an umbrella-shaped structure resembling that of *** 2%-SKPCa^(2+)filter was synthesized using polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)as a stable structure-directing agent,and sodium alginate(SA)andκ-carrageenan(κ-CG)as polymer *** distinctive umbrellashaped hydrogel of 2%-SKP-Ca^(2+)filter,formed through the triple crosslinking method,overcomes the limitations of unstable pore structure and poor durability seen in hydrogels prepared by traditional crosslinking ***,the utilization of the 2%-SKP-Ca^(2+)filter in water treatment demonstrates its good selective permeability,excellent resistance to fouling,and extended longevity,which enables it to simultaneously achieve the multifunctional water purification and the coating of multi-substrate anti-fouling ***,not only does this research provide an efficient,multifunctional,highly pollution-resistant preparation method for designing a new filter,but it also confirms the application prospect of the macro-micro dual bionic strategy developed in this study in complex water treatment.

Chlorine has been widely used in different advanced oxidation processes(AOPs)for micropollutants *** this study,different chlorine-based AOPs,namely medium pressure(MP)UV/chlorine,low pressure(LP)UV/chlorine,and in-situ chlorination,were compared for carbamazepine(CBZ)removal efficiency,energy consumption,and disinfection by-products(DBPs)*** three processes could achieve nearly 100%CBZ removal,while the reaction time needed by in-situ chlorination was double the time required by UV/chlorine *** energy consumed per magnitude of CBZ removed(EE/O)of MP UV/chlorine was 13 times higher than that of LP UV/chlorine,and relative to that of in-situ chlorination ***,MP and LP UV/chlorine processes generated one to two orders of magnitude more hydroxyl radicals(^(·)OH)and reactive chlorine species(RCS)than in-situ ***,RCS were the dominant reactive species,contributing to 78.3%,75.6%,and 71.6% of CBZ removal in MP,LP UV/chlorine,and in-situ chlorination,*** to the Gibbs free energy barriers between CBZ and RCS/^(·)OH calculated based on density functional theory(DFT),RCS had more reaction routes with CBZ and showed lower energy barrier in the main CBZ degradation pathways like epoxidation and formation of *** applied to secondary wastewater effluent,UV/chlorine and in-situ chlorination produced overall DBPs ranging from 104.77 to 135.41μg/***,the production of chlorate during UV/chlorine processes was 15 times higher than that during in-situ chlorination.

AIM:To report the outcome of Baerveldt glaucoma implant(BGI)with Supramid©ripcord use in neovascular glaucoma(NVG).METHODS:We retrospectively evaluated the surgical outcome of the BGI with Supramid©3/0 ripcord stent in patients with *** tube ligation or venting slits were *** was removed after 3mo if the target intraocular pressure(IOP)was not *** success was defined as IOP≤21 mm Hg with(qualified success)or without IOP-lowering medications(complete success).RESULTS:Twenty-six eyes from 24 patients were included in the *** median duration of follow-up was 4[interquartile range(IQR)=1-5]y,ranging from 0.5 to *** decreased by a mean of 24.2 mm Hg(59.7%);from a mean of 40.5±12.6 mm Hg at baseline to 16.3±11.9 mm Hg,P≤*** number of glaucoma medications reduced from a median of 5(IQR=5-6)to 1(IQR=0-2,P≤0.001)at the final *** success rates were 88.0%at 1y,34.8%at 3y,66.7%at 4y,and 50%at *** phase(HP)in the first 3mo occurred in 15/26 eyes(57.7%)with a mean IOP of 31.1 mm ***:BGI with Supramid©ripcord stent gives close to 90%of the overall survival rate at the final follow-up without significant early ***,early HP is still a challenge.

Heterojunction composites with intimate interfaces can shorten the diffusion distance,which leads to a shorter path for photogenerated carriers,thereby increasing photocatalytic ***,we report the fabrication of Ti_(3)C_(2)-Bi_(2)WO_(6)(TC-BW)heterojunctions hinged by Bi_(2)Ti_(2)O_(7)joints via an in situ hydrothermal reaction of Ti_(3)C_(2)in the presence of Na_(2)WO_(4)and Bi(NO_(3))_(3).The TC-BW was characterized using X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning transmission electron microscopy(STEM),and Raman ***-BW showed superior photocatalytic activity(productivity over 15TC-WB reaches up to 5.0 mmolreacted BA·gcat.^(−1)·h^(−1))in the oxidation of benzyl alcohol using light-emitting diode(LED)light,arising from the surface defects and intimate heterojunction interface between the Ti_(3)C_(2)MXene and Bi_(2)WO_(6)***-BW heterojunctions provide an enhanced separation efficiency of photogenerated charges,which in turn yields superior photocatalytic ***,it is well substantiated by density functional theory(DFT)*** summary,this study elucidates the preparation of heterojunction composites with intimate interfaces for highly efficient photooxidation.

Straw return influences the structure and functioning of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal community in a rice-wheat rotation system

Straw return is a sustainable soil fertility-buildin. practice,which can affect soil microbial ***,how straw return affects arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF)is not well ***,we studied the impacts of different straw management treatments over eight years on the structure and functioning of AMF communities in a rice-wheat rotation *** straw management treatments included no tillage with no straw(NTNS),rotary tillage straw return(RTSR),and ditch-buried straw return(DBSR).The community structure of AMF was characterized using high-throughput sequencing,and the mycorrhizal functioning was quantified using an in situ mycorrhizal-suppression *** straw management treatments formed unique AMF community structure,which was closely related to changes in soil total organic carbon,available phosphorus,total nitrogen,ammonium,and *** compared with NTNS,RTSR significantly increased Shannon diversity in 0–10 cm soil layer,while DBSR increased it in 10–20 cm soil layer;DBSR significantly increased hyphal length density in the whole ploughing layer(0–20 cm),but RTSR only increased it in the subsurface soil layer(10–20 cm).The mycorrhizal responses of shoot biomass and nutrient(N and P)uptake were positive under both straw return treatments(RTSR and DBSR),but negative under *** community composition of AMF was significantly correlated to hyphal length density,and the latter was further a positive predictor for the mycorrhizal responses of plant growth and nutrient *** findin.s suggest that straw return can affect AMF community structure and functioning,and farmers should manage mycorrhizas to strengthen their beneficial effects on crop production.

Food Waste(FW)is a pressing environmental concern that affects every country *** one-third of the food that is produced ends up as waste,contributing to the carbon ***,the FW must be properly treated to reduce environmental *** study evaluates a few available Food Waste Treatment(FWT)technologies,such as anaerobic digestion,composting,landfill,and incineration,which are widely used.A Bipolar Picture Fuzzy Set(BPFS)is proposed to deal with the ambiguity and uncertainty that arise when converting a real-world problem to a mathematical model.A novel Criteria Importance Through Intercriteria Correlation-Stable Preference Ordering Towards Ideal Solution(CRITIC-SPOTIS)approach is developed to objectively analyze FWT selection based on thirteen criteria covering the industry’s technical,environmental,and entrepreneurial *** CRITIC method is used for the objective analysis of the importance of each criterion in FWT *** SPOTIS method is adopted to rank the alternative hassle-free,following the *** proposed model offers a rank reversal-free model,i.e.,the rank of the alternatives remains unaffected even after the addition or removal of an *** addition,comparative and sensitivity analyses are performed to ensure the reliability and robustness of the proposed model and to validate the proposed result.
