Negative binomial regression is a powerful technique for modeling count data, particularly when dealing with overdispersion. However, estimating the parameters for large-dimensional sparse models is challenging due to the complexity of optimizing the mean and dispersion parameter of the negative binomial distribution. To address this issue, the authors propose a novel approach that employs two iterations of the majorize-minimize(MM) algorithm, one for estimating the dispersion parameter and the other for estimating the mean parameters. These approaches improve the convergence speed and stability of the algorithm. The authors also use group penalty for variable selection, which enhances the accuracy and efficiency of the algorithm. The proposed method provides an explicit solution,simplifies the iteration process, and maintains good stability while ensuring algorithm ***, the authors apply the proposed algorithm to the zero-inflated model and demonstrate its promising predictive performance on specific data sets. The research has important implications for count data modeling and analysis in various fields, such as data mining, machine learning, and bioinformatics.

Recently,photodynamic therapy(PDT)has attracted wide attention due to its less susceptibility to drug resistance,broad-spectrum biocidal activity and biosafety in normal ***,the traditional photosensitizers(Ps)face the disadvantage of poor therapeutic efficacy due to the requirement of an aerobic environment to generate ^(1)O_(2) through Type Ⅱ ***,we designed and synthesized a novel cationic conjugated oligomer oligo(phenylene vinylene)(OPV)and studied its antibacterial photodynamic activity against both Gram-negative Escherichia coli(***)and Gram-positive bacteria methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA).Importantly,the OpV can rapidly produce reactive oxygen species(ROs)through double pathways,Type Ⅰ and Ⅱ mechanism under white light irradiation,and efficiently kill *** and MRSA at a nanomolar *** dual type photosensitizing capability makes OPV promising for enhanced PDT to treat pathogens and tumors in complex environments.

Electrocatalysts with high activity and long-term durability are vital toward large-scale hydrogen pro-duction from electrocatalytic water ***,the self-supported electrode(FeO_(χ)H_(y)@Ni_(3.B/NF)with hierarchical heterostructure was simply prepared by using Ni_(3.B chunks grown on nickel foam as sub-strate to in situ form vertical FeO_(χ)H_(y)*** hybrid shows efficient oxygen evolution reaction activity with overpotentials as low as 267 and 249 mV at 100 mA cm^(-2)in 1 M KOH solution and 3. wt%KOH solution,***,it also exhibits excellent catalytic stability,sustaining catalysis at 500 mA cm^(-2)in 1 M KOH solution for 200 h,and even for 200 h at 1000 mA cm^(-2)in 3. wt%KOH *** experimental results reveal that the FeO_(χ)H_(y)@Ni_(3.B/NF is endowed with superhydrophilic and superaerophobic surface properties,which not only provide more mass transport channels,as well as facilitated the diffusion of reaction intermediates and gas ***,it holds faster reaction kinetics,more accessible active sites and accelerated electron transfer rates due to strong synergistic interactions attheheterogeneous interface.

The applications of hydrogels have expanded significantly due to their versatile,highly tunable properties and breakthroughs in biomaterial *** this review,we cover the major achievements and the potential of hydrogels in therapeutic applications,focusing primarily on two areas:emerging cell-based therapies and promising non-cell therapeutic *** the context of cell therapy,we discuss the capacity of hydrogels to overcome the existing translational challenges faced by mainstream cell therapy paradigms,provide a detailed discussion on the advantages and principal design considerations of hydrogels for boosting the efficacy of cell therapy,as well as list specific examples of their applications in different disease *** then explore the potential of hydrogels in drug delivery,physical intervention therapies,and other non-cell therapeutic areas(e.g.,bioadhesives,artificial tissues,and biosensors),emphasizing their utility beyond mere delivery ***,we complement our discussion on the latest progress and challenges in the clinical application of hydrogels and outline future research directions,particularly in terms of integration with advanced biomanufacturing *** review aims to present a comprehensive view and critical insights into the design and selection of hydrogels for both cell therapy and noncell therapies,tailored to meet the therapeutic requirements of diverse diseases and situations.

In this paper, we consider the Cauchy problem of 3.dimensional tropical climate model. This model reflects the interaction and coupling among the barotropic mode u, the first baroclinic mode v of the velocity and the temperature θ. The systems with fractional dissipation studied here may arise in the modeling of geophysical circumstances. Mathematically these systems allow simultaneous examination of a family of systems with various levels of regularization. The aim here is the global strong solution with the least dissipation. By energy estimate and delicate analysis, we prove the existence of global solution under three different cases: first, with the help of damping terms, the global strong solution of the system with Λ2au, Λ2βv and Λ2γ θ for;and second, the global strong solution of the system for with damping terms;finally, the global strong solution of the system for without any damping terms, which improve the known existence theory for this system.

The remarkable optoelectronic features of halide perovskite promote their potential applications in semiconductor devices beyond solar cells,which require high-quality single crystals with controlled defect ***,we investigated the synthesis mechanism of chemical vapor deposited single-crystalline all-inorganic perovskite microplates(MPs),and reported a defect-modulated photocurrent which is closely related to the growth sequence of the *** MP synthesis initiates from island-like nano-disks,and subsequently transits to a layer-by-layer fashion,resulting in a defect-rich area at the center of the *** elevated temperatures,these central defects may be thermally activated and become highly mobile,leading to photoluminescence quenching and degression of local and overall optoelectronic attributes,as evidenced by the spatial resolved optical and electrical scanning probe ***,this work shines light on the formation,proliferation and dynamics of defects in perovskites,and offers guidance for preparation of high-quality perovskites micro-crystals for functional semiconductor devices with high temperature stability.
