Agricultural soils in semi-arid regions have frequently been degraded due to adverse climatic conditions,organic matter depletion,and poor farming *** enhance soil quality,this study examines the reuse of sewage sludge(SS)as an available source of organic matter in a typical Mediterranean sandy-loam ***,we studied the cumulative effect of two annual applications of 40,80 and 120 tons of sludge per ha on soil quality in absence of *** dose-dependent improvement of organic matter content was the most significant event that reflected sludge application rates,and consequently influenced other soil ***,soil structural stability increased by 13.3%,28.8%and 59.4%for treatments SS-40,SS-80 and SS-120 respectively as compared to unamended *** stability improvement was also confirmed by the dose-dependent variation of other edaphic factors including calcium content,the microbial quotient as well as Welt and C:N *** param-eters are involved in cementing soil aggregates by cation bridging,the formation of microbial mucilage,and clay-humic *** magnetic susceptibility(SMS)was measured in situ as a possible rapid tool to evaluate soil *** showed significant correlation with sludge dose and stability amelioration testifying to the aggregation role that can play Al2O3 and particularly Fe2O3 minerals added by the hematite-rich ***,analytical results and field observations revealed no trends of soil salinization or acidification by excessive sludge *** avoiding the rhizosphere effect,outcomes could reflect the resilience and intrinsic capacity of the soil to cope with excessive sludge loads.

Spirooxindole is a compound with a unique framework and broad bioactivities in *** this study,we have reviewed various approaches or methods in synthesizing spirooxindole derivatives focused on green *** of spirooxindoles is mainly carried out through multicomponent reactions combined with various green approaches such as the use of heterogeneous catalysts(nano-sized,magnetic,metal-complex,and metal-organic framework catalysts),deep eutectic solvent,solvent-free reactions,catalyst-free reactions,as well as the use of ultrasonic and microwaves *** green method is carried out in addition to obtaining high yields,it also offers reductions in the use of hazardous chemicals,energy use,purification processes,and waste *** a result,green synthesis methods in the synthesis of spirooxindole derivatives are more environmentally friendly.

B cell-mediated humoral immunity plays a vital role in viral infections,including chronic hepatitis B virus(HBV)infection,which remains a critical global public health *** hepatitis B surface antigen-specific antibodies are essential to eliminate viral infections,the reduced immune functional capacity of B cells was identified,which was also correlated with chronic hepatitis B(CHB)*** addition to B cells,T follicular helper(Tfh)cells,which assist B cells to produce antibodies,might also be involved in the process of anti-HBVspecific antibody ***,we provide a comprehensive review of the role of various subsets of B cells and Tfh cells during CHB progression and discuss current novel treatment strategies aimed at restoring humoral *** the mechanism of dysregulated B cells and Tfh cells will facilitate the ultimate functional cure of CHB patients.

Objective:To isolate and analyse the chemical composition in the essential oils and free radical scavenging activity of different crude extracts from the fresh and dry leaves of vegetable plants of Lactuca sativa L.(***).Methods:The essential oils and volatile chemical constituents were isolated from the fresh and dry leaves of ***(lettuce)grown in Sultanate of Oman by hydro distillation *** antioxidant activity of the crude extracts was carried out by well established free radical scavenging activity(DPPH)***:About 20 chemical compounds of different concentration representing 83.07%and 79.88%respectively were isolated and identified by gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy in the essential oils isolated from the fresh and dry leaves asα-pinene(5.11%and 4.05%).γ-cymene(2.07%and 1.92%),thymol(11.55%and 10.73%),durenol(52.00%and 49.79%),α-terpinene(1.66%and 1.34%),thymol acetate(0.99%and 0.67%),caryophyllene(2.11%and 1.98%),spathulenol(3.09%and 2.98%).camphene(4.11%and3.65%),limonene(1.28%and 1.11%)representing these major chemical ***,some other minor chemical constituents were also isolated and identified from the essential oil of lettuce including p-pinene,α-terpinolene,linalool,4-terpineol,α-terpineol,o-methylthymol,L-alloaromadendrene and ***:The chemical consliluents in the essential oils from the locally grown lettuce were identified in the following classes or groups of chemical compounds such as monoterpenes,sesquiterpenes volatile organic compounds and their oxygenated ***,the essential oils and the crude extracts from Omani vegetable species of lettuce are active candidates which would be used as antioxidant,antifungal or antimicrobial agents in new drugs preparation for therapy of infectious diseases.

BACKGROUND Detection of early chronic changes in the kidney allograft is important for timely intervention and long-term *** and novel ultrasound-based investigations are being increasingly used for this purpose with variable *** To compare the diagnostic performance of resistive index(RI)and shear wave elastography(SWE)in the diagnosis of chronic fibrosing changes of kidney allograft with histopathological *** This is a cross-sectional and comparative study.A total of 154 kidney transplant recipients were included in this study,which was conducted at the Departments of Transplantation and Radiology,Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation,Karachi,Pakistan,from August 2022 to February *** consecutive patients with increased serum creatinine levels and reduced glomerular filtration rate(GFR)after three months of transplantation were enrolled in this *** and RI were performed and the findings of these were evaluated against the kidney allograft biopsy results to determine their diagnostic *** The mean age of all patients was 35.32±11.08 *** these,126(81.8%)were males and 28(18.2%)were *** mean serum creatinine in all patients was 2.86±1.68 mg/dL and the mean estimated GFR was 35.38±17.27 mL/min/1.73 *** allograft biopsy results showed chronic changes in 55(37.66%)*** sensitivity,specificity,positive predictive value(PPV),and negative predictive value(NPV)of SWE for the detection of chronic allograft damage were 93.10%,96.87%%,94.73%,and 95.87%,respectively,and the diagnostic accuracy was 95.45%.For RI,the sensitivity,specificity,PPV,and NPV were 76.92%,83.33%,70.17%,and 87.62%,respectively,and the diagnostic accuracy was 81.16%.CONCLUSION The results from this study show that SWE is more sensitive and specific as compared to RI in the evaluation of chronic allograft *** can be of great help during the routine follow-up of kidney transplant recipients for screening a

Gold, nickel and copper are usually used in connector of the smart card. Since Au is expensive and Ni is an allergenic material, simulated (CES) and bibliographical work is carried out in order to replace the Au and Ni layer in smart card connectors without sacrificing reliability. During the work, mechanical and electrical properties, corrosion resistance, cost, toxicity and process compatibility of the samples have been taken into consideration. Cu alloying with Zn or Sn, Cr and stainless steel were selected for electrodeposition process. Secondly, carbides (WC, TiC, ZrC), Ti, TiN, borides (TiB2) and silicide (MoSi2) are considered as a vapour deposited materials and some Cu alloying with Al, N or Mg also considered via ion implantation processes. But, vapour deposition and implantation are high energy processes compared to the electrodeposition process, which is expensive. Therefore, electrodeposited materials such as, Cu alloys (Brass or bronze), Cr and stainless steel could be considered as promising candidate to replace the Au and Ni layer in smart card connectors.

枸杞属茄科多年生植物,是一种药食两用植物,因其高效的药理作用,多年来被很多人作草药而广泛食用。目前,枸杞越来越多地被欧洲和亚洲国家人民作为功能性食品而食用,并在西方已作为保健食品销售。在外观上,干燥枸杞果皮的颜色呈现红色至深红色,能引起消费者的购买的欲望。目前已有研究表明,枸杞多糖具有增强免疫力、抗衰老、抗癌和抑制肿瘤生长等作用,具有很重要的研究价值。但传统的提取多糖的方法,不仅提取率较低且提取时间也较长,而超声辅助提取能对热和质进行有效地传递,可以显著地提高提取率和节约时间,而且作为绿色、安全和高效的新技术,而被广泛用于农产品有效成分的提取。提取是一个连续性过程,对其关键指标在线原位实时检测,最终实现提取过程终止的自动判断与决策,分离提取过程的智能化控制有重要的价值,且目前相关研究鲜见报道。本文首先研究超声辅助提取(UAE)对枸杞多糖提取率的影响,其次系统的研究三种多模式超声波对枸杞多糖提取率的影响,最终应用NIR技术对提取过程提取液中多糖含量进行在线检测与建模,进而实现对提取过程的实时分析与规划。主要研究工作及其结果如下:单频逆流聚能式超声的最佳提取条件为:提取时间30 min,提取温度60℃,固/液比20g/600ml,超声频率28 kHz,枸杞粗多糖提取率为26.38%。与传统热水提取相比,粗多糖提取率在温度降低33.3%和提取时间减少50%的情况下,提取率提高了17.51%。美国购买的对位双频超声波,在模式为20kHz,16kHz条件下,枸杞多糖提取率为33.6%,比传统热水提取增加了49.67%。双频逆流聚能式超声在模式为20 kHz/40kHz时,提取率为38.93%,比传统热水相比增加了73.41%。因此,双频逆流聚能式超声波与单频逆流聚能式超声波和对位双频超声波相比,双频逆流聚能式超声波20kHz/40 kHz是枸杞粗多糖的最佳模式。在双频逆流聚能式超声波20 kHz/40 kHz提取过程中使用NIR光谱仪预测提取过程中的多糖含量。通过微小型便携式近红外(NIR)光谱仪和多变量分析进行枸杞多糖的研究。对变量进行Si-PLS算法的选择,建立校正回归模型。模型的性能通过预测集中的相关系数(Rp)和均方根误差(RMSEP)进行评估。结果表明,在多糖含量模型中Rp=0.994,RMSEP=0.49。结果显示,使用微小型便携式近红外(NIR)光谱仪,通过联合偏区间最小二乘法建立的模型可作为枸杞多糖超声过程中原位实时监测。
