In this paper, the edge detection for a medical image is performed based on Sobel operator, and the bounding box is obtained, by which the effective medical sub-image is extracted. Then, the centroid and the normalized central moments of the medical sub-image are calculated, and the rotation angle a is obtained by minimizing the second-order central moment based on its rotation invariance. Finally, the whole medical image is rotated around the centroid by --a to correct the tilted image. F^rthermore, inspired by the uniformity degree of the image, the rotation angle ct is revised, which achieves a better correction effect and performance. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithms are fairly reliable and accurate for the determination of tilt angles, and are practical and effective tilt correction techniques.

Vehicle license plate (VLP) character segmentation is an important part of the vehicle license plate recognition system (VLPRS).This paper proposes a least square method (LSM) to treat horizontal tilt and vertical tilt in VLP *** lines are added into the image (or the tilt-corrected image) to make the separated parts of each Chinese character to be an interconnected *** noise regions will be eliminated after two fusing images are merged according to the minimum principle of gray values. Then,the characters are segmented by projection method (PM) and the final character images are *** experimental results show that this method features fast processing and good performance in segmentation.

According to the B-spline convolution mask, first, the contrast sensitiveness （CS） is computed and then is viewed as a noise sensitiveness coeficient （NSC） to adaptively determine a noise-recognized threshold value. Based on the noise density function （NDF） in a 3×3 window, the filtering window size is adaptively adjusted, and then a median filter is used to eliminate the noise-marked pixels. The experiment results show that the proposed algorithm can preserve image detail information well and effectively remove the noises, particularly the impulse noises that is also called salt-and-pepper noises superimposed on the computed tomography （CT） and magnetic resonance imaging （MRI） medical images.

In this work,the microstructure and mechanical properties of large cross-sectioned Mg-9Gd-3Y-1.2Zn-0.5Zr(VWZ931)samples produced by the small extrusion ratio has been *** as-extruded VWZ931 sample with diameter of~30 mm can exhibit the high yield strength(YS)of 339 MPa,ultimate tensile strength(UTS)of 387 MPa and elongation of 8.2%,*** peak-aged,the YS and UTS of the Mg samples were significantly increased to 435 MPa and 467 *** small extrusion ratio leads to the low fraction of dynamic recrystallized(DRX)grains in VWZ931 sample,and the texture hardening effect can be fully utilized to achieve high *** combined effect of precipitation strengthening due to the long-period stacking ordered phases and theβ′phase,grain boundary strengthening due to the fine DRX grains,heterogeneous deformation-induced strengthening caused by bimodal microstructure,can together contribute to the high strength of present Mg *** findings can shed light on designing other large-sized Mg wrought alloys with high mechanical performance.

Effect of alumina occurrence form on metallurgical properties of hematite and magnetite pellets

The effect of alumina occurrence form on the metallurgical properties of both hematite and magnetite pellets was investigated at the same Al_(2)O level of 2 wt.%,including reduction index(RI),low-temperature reduction disintegration index(RDI),reduction swelling index(RSI),and high-temperature softening-dripping *** mineralogy of fired pellets was also studied to reveal the influence of alumina occurrence form on the phase composition and *** the results,the alumina occurrence form presents tremendous impacts on the metallurgical perfor-mance of both magnetite and hematite *** of all alumina occurrence forms contributes to inferior reducibility of pellets,especially in the case of gibbsite for magnetite pellets with a RI of 58.4%and kaolinite for hematite pellets with a RI of 56.8%.However,addition of all alumina occurrence forms improves the RDI of magnetite pellets,while there is no significant difference among various alumina occurrence *** contrast,alumina occurrence forms have little influence on the RDI of hematite *** presence of free alumina,gibbsite,and kaolinite tends to improve the RSI of hematite and magnetite pellets,whereas hercynite gives the opposite trend with a RSI of 25.6%.For softening-dripping performance of magnetite pellets,all alumina occurrence forms contribute to narrower softening-melting ***,alumina,gibbsite,and kaolinite give narrower softening-dripping interval,at 229,217,and 88℃,respectively,whereas addition of hercynite results in the largest melting range at 276℃ due to its high melting *** hematite pellets,free alumina,gibbsite,and hercynite tend to enlarge melting range,whereas kaolinite contributes to lower dripping temperature of 1148℃ and narrow softening-dripping interval of 88℃ due to the formation of a greater amount of slag phase at high temperatures.

Glaucoma,the leading cause of irreversible blindness worldwide,is closely linked to aqueous overaccumulation and elevated intraocular pressure(IOP).For refractory glaucoma,aqueous shunts with valves are commonly implanted for effective aqueous drainage control and IOP ***,existing valved glaucoma implants have the disadvantages of inconsistent valve opening/closing pressures,poor long-term repeatability due to their reliance on moving parts,and complex architectures and fabrication ***,we propose a novel valving concept,the droplet Laplace valve(DLV),a three-dimensional printable moving-parts-free microvalve with customizable and consistent threshold valving *** DLV uses a flow discretization unit governed by capillarity,comprising a droplet-forming nozzle,and a separated reservoir to digitize continuous flow into quantifiable *** the classic one-time-use Laplace valves,the DLV's unique design allows for its *** opening pressure is adjustable by varying the nozzle size,like the classic Laplace valves(following the Young–Laplace equation),while the closing pressure can be modified by tuning the separation distance and the reservoir *** DLVs with customizable opening pressures from 5 to 11 mmHg have been demonstrated,with opening/closing pressure differences suppressed down to0.99).Preliminary ex vivo validation in an enucleated porcine eye confirms the DLV's efficiency in aqueous shunting and prompt IOP *** DLV technology holds great promise in glaucoma implants for IOP management and various microsystems for flow control.

BACKGROUND Colorectal cancer(CRC)is a common malignant tumor,and liver metastasis is one of the main recurrence and metastasis modes that seriously affect patients’survival rate and quality of *** such as albumin bilirubin(ALBI)score,liver function index,and carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA)have shown some potential in the prediction of liver metastasis but have not been fully *** To evaluate its predictive value for liver metastasis of CRC by conducting the combined analysis of ALBI,liver function index,and CEA,and to provide a more accurate liver metastasis risk assessment tool for clinical treatment *** This study retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of patients with CRC who received surgical treatment in our hospital from January 2018 to July 2023 and were followed up for 24 *** to the follow-up results,the enrolled patients were divided into a liver metastasis group and a nonliver metastasis group and randomly divided into a modeling group and a verification group at a ratio of 2:*** risk factors for liver metastasis in patients with CRC were analyzed,a prediction model was constructed by least absolute shrinkage and selection operator(LASSO)logistic regression,internal validation was performed by the bootstrap method,the reliability of the prediction model was evaluated by subject-work characteristic curves,calibration curves,and clinical decision curves,and a column graph was drawn to show the prediction *** Of 130 patients were enrolled in the modeling group and 65 patients were enrolled in the verification group out of the 195 patients with CRC who fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion *** LASSO regression variable screening and logistic regression *** ALBI score,alanine aminotransferase(ALT),and CEA were found to be independent predictors of liver metastases in CRC patients[odds ratio(OR)=8.062,95%confidence interval(CI):2.545-25.540],(OR=1.037,95%CI:1.004-1.071)and(OR=1.0
