MnO2 loaded weak basic anion exchange resin D301 （Anion exchange resin, macroreticular weak basic styrene） as adsorbent has been prepared and applied to the removal of cadmium. The adsorption characteristics have been investigated with respect to effect of pH, equilibrium isotherms, removal kinetic data, and interference of the coexisting ions. The results indicated that the Cd^2＋ could be efficiently removed using MnO2 loaded D301 resin in the pH range of 3-8 from aqueous solutions with the co-existence of high concentration of alkali and alkaline-earth metals ions. The saturate adsorption capacity of the Cd^2＋ was 77.88 mg/g. The adsorption process followed the pseudo first-order kinetics. The equilibrium data obtained in this study accorded excellently with the Langmuir adsorption isotherm.

To overcome the disadvantages of current silkworm Bombyx mori transgenic technology, such as costly and time-consuming to maintain non-diapause transgenic silkworms, we report here on the development of treatments for the germline transformation of diapause silkworm strains. Our results showed that HC1 treatment within 3 h of oviposition was able to prevent the diapause of eggs from Japanese lineage diapause silkworm strains and was also suitable for germline transformation of the same strains. By incu- bating developing mother eggs from Chinese lineage diapause silkworm strains at 15℃ （15℃-IME）, we were able to prevent the diapause of their daughter eggs; a similar strategy （15℃-IMES） for the germline transformation of the same strains was that the mother eggs were incubated at 15℃, and the daughter eggs were then microinjected according to the conventional microinjection methods used for non-diapause eggs. By combining tempera- ture and light controls, the improved 15℃-IMES strategy prevented diapause in daughter eggs, and also enabled the germline transformation of both Japanese and Chinese lineage diapause silkworm strains. Although each of the strategies developed here has advantages and disadvantages, we suggest that the 15℃-IMES strategy is a good reference for the establishment of germline transformation technologies of other egg diapause insects. These new strategies for the efficient germline transformation of diapause silkworm strains are likely to improve the practical use of silkworm transgenic lines in sericulture and also highlight silkworm functional genomics research and its modeling.

Microbial oxidation and the mechanism of Sb(Ⅲ)are key governing elements in biogeochemical cycling.A novel Sb oxidizing bacterium,Klebsiella aerogenes HC10,was attracted early and revealed that extracellular metabolites were the main fractions driving Sb ***,linkages between the extracellular metabolite driven Sb oxidation process and mechanism remain ***,model phenolic and quinone compounds,i.e.,anthraquinone-2,6-disulfonate(AQDS)and hydroquinone(HYD),representing extracellular oxidants secreted by *** HC10,were chosen to further study the Sb(Ⅲ)oxidation mechanism.N_(2)purging and free radical quenching showed that oxygen-induced oxidation accounted for 36.78%of Sb(Ⅲ)in the metabolite reaction system,while hydroxyl free radicals(·OH)accounted for 15.52%.·OH and H_(2)O_(2)are the main driving factors for Sb *** quenching,methanol purification and electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)analysis revealed that·OH,superoxide radical(O_(2)^(•-))and semiquinone(SQ-•)were reactive intermediates of the phenolic induced oxidation ***-induced ROS are one of the main oxidants in *** voltammetry(CV)showed that electron transfer of quinone also mediated Sb(Ⅲ)*** of Sb(V)was scavenged by the formation of the secondary Sb(V)-bearing mineral mopungite[NaSb(OH)6]in the incubation *** study demonstrates the microbial role of oxidation detoxification and mineralization of Sb and provides scientific references for the biochemical remediation of Sb-contaminated soil.

Microstructural evolution during the progressive transformation-induced plasticity effect in a Fe-0.1C-5Mnmedium manganese steel

The microstructural evolution of a cold-rolled and intercritical annealed medium-Mn steel(Fe-0.10C-5Mn)was investigated during uniaxial tensile ***-situ observations under scanning electron microscopy,transmission electron microscopy,and X-ray diffraction analysis were conducted to characterize the progressive transformation-induced plasticity process and associated fracture initiation *** findings were discussed with the local strain measurements via digital image *** results indicated that Lüders band formation in the steel was limited to 1.5%strain,which was mainly due to the early-stage martensitic phase transformation of a very small amount of the less stable large-sized retained austenite(RA),which led to localized stress concentrations and strain hardening and further retardation of *** small-sized RA exhibited high stability and progressively transformed into martensite and contributed to a stably extended Portevin-Le Chatelier *** volume fraction of RA gradually decreased from 26.8%to 8.2%prior to *** the late deformation stage,fracture initiation primarily occurred at the austenite/martensite and ferrite/martensite interfaces and the ferrite phase.

Formic and acetic acids are the most abundant gaseous organic acids and play the key role in the atmospheric *** iodine-adduct chemical ionizationmass spectrometry(CIMS),the low utilization efficiency of methyl iodide and humidity interference are two major issues of the vacuum ultraviolet(VUV)lamp initiated CIMS for on-line gaseous formic and acetic acids *** this work,we present a new CIMS based on VUV lamp,and the ion-molecular reactor is separated into photoionization and chemical ionization zones by a reducer *** was added to the photoionization zone,and the VUV photoionization acetone provided low-energy electrons for methyl iodide to generate I−,and the addition of acetone reduced the amount of methyl iodide by 2/*** the chemical ionization zone,a headspace vial containing ultrapure water was added for humidity calibration,and the vial changes the sensitivity as a function of humidity from ambiguity to well linear correlation(R2>0.95).With humidity calibration,the CIMS can quantitatively measure formic and acetic acids in the humidity range of 0%-88%*** this mode,limits of detection of 10 and 50 pptv are obtained for formic and acetic acids,*** the relative standard deviation(RSD)of quantitation stability for 6 days were less than 10.5%.This CIMS was successfully used to determine the formic and acetic acids in the underground parking and ambient environment of the Shandong University campus(Qingdao,China).In addition,we developed a simple model based formic acid concentration to assess vehicular emissions.

The high porosity and tunable chemical functionality of metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)make it a promising catalyst design ***-throughput screening of catalytic performance is feasible since the large MOF structure database is *** this study,we report a machine learning model for high-throughput screening of MOF catalysts for the CO_(2) cycloaddition *** descriptors for model training were judiciously chosen according to the reaction mechanism,which leads to high accuracy up to 97%for the 75%quantile of the training set as the classification *** feature contribution was further evaluated with SHAP and PDP analysis to provide a certain physical understanding.12,415 hypothetical MOF structures and 100 reported MOFs were evaluated under 100℃ and 1 bar within one day using the model,and 239 potentially efficient catalysts were *** them,MOF-76(Y)achieved the top performance experimentally among reported MOFs,in good agreement with the prediction.

Given the escalating intricacy and multifaceted nature of contemporary social systems,manually generating solutions to address pertinent social issues has become a formidable *** response to this challenge,the rapid development of artificial intelligence has spurred the exploration of computational methodologies aimed at automatically generating ***,current methods for the auto-generation of solutions mainly concentrate on local social regulations that pertain to specific ***,we report an automatic social operating system(ASOS)designed for general social solution generation built upon agent-based models that enables both global and local analyses and regulations of social problems across spatial and temporal *** adopts a hypergraph with extensible social semantics for a comprehensive and structured representation of social *** also incorporates a generalized protocol for standardized hypergraph operations and a symbolic hybrid framework that delivers interpretable solutions,yielding a balance between regulatory efficacy and functional *** demonstrate the effectiveness of the ASOS,we apply it to the domain of averting extreme events within international oil futures *** generating a new trading role supplemented by new mechanisms,ASOS can adeptly discern precarious market conditions and make front-running interventions for nonprofit *** study demonstrated that ASOS provides an efficient and systematic approach for generating solutions for enhancing our society.
