We present the formal derivation of a new unidirectional model for unsteady mixed flows in nonuniform closed water pipes. In the case of free surface incompressible flows, the FS-model is formally obtained, using formal asymptotic analysis, which is an extension to more classical shallow water models. In the same way, when the pipe is full, we propose the P-model, which describes the evolution of a compressible inviscid flow, close to gas dynamics equations in a nozzle. In order to cope with the transition between a free surface state and a pressured （i.e., compressible） state, we propose a mixed model, the PFS-model, taking into account changes of section and slope variation.

The use of all samples in the optimization process does not produce robust results in datasets with label *** the gradients calculated according to the losses of the noisy samples cause the optimization process to go in the wrong *** this paper,we recommend using samples with loss less than a threshold determined during the optimization,instead of using all samples in the *** proposed method,Adaptive-k,aims to exclude label noise samples from the optimization process and make the process *** noisy datasets,we found that using a threshold-based approach,such as Adaptive-k,produces better results than using all samples or a fixed number of low-loss samples in the *** the basis of our theoretical analysis and experimental results,we show that the Adaptive-k method is closest to the performance of the Oracle,in which noisy samples are entirely removed from the ***-k is a simple but effective *** does not require prior knowledge of the noise ratio of the dataset,does not require additional model training,and does not increase training time *** the experiments,we also show that Adaptive-k is compatible with different optimizers such as SGD,SGDM,and *** code for Adaptive-k is available at GitHub.

Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), a retinal vascular disease of premature infants, continues to be a major cause of preventable childhood blindness all over the world. The incidence of ROP varies among countries, being influenced by the quality of the level of neonatal intensive care. Here, we discuss the potential treatments that are now available or will soon or probably be available for ROP. Although ablation of the avascular retina with laser photocoagulation remains the current gold standard and well established therapy for ROP, some new therapeutic options including angiostatic therapies are being explored based on our knowledge of the pathophysiology of the ROP and complications and efficacy of laser treatment. However, prevention of the development of severe ROP and screening for ROP seem to be the best strategy in avoiding visual impairment caused by ROP in premature infants. New therapeutic interventions including vascular endothelial growth factor antibody administration, gene therapy and supplemental therapies should be supported with evidence-based data for the treatment of ROP.

Temperature and Thickness Effects on Electrical Properties of InP Films Deposited by Spray Pyrolysis

InP film samples are prepared by spray pyrolysis technique using aqueous solutions of InCl3 and Na2HPO4, which are atomized with compressed air as carrier gas onto glass substrates at 500° C with different thicknesses of the films. The structural properties of the samples are determined by x-ray diffraction （XRD）. It is found that the crystal structure of the InP films is polycrystalline hexagonal. The orientations of all the obtained films are along the c-axis perpendicular to the substrate. The electrical measurements of the samples are obtained by dc four-probe technique on rectangular-shape samples. The effects of temperature on the electrical properties of the InP films are studied in detail.

Side effects of cisplatin,especially dose-dependent nephrotoxicity,are major factors limiting its use in ***((S)-2,9-dihydroxy-1,10-dimethoxy-aporphine)is a natural alkaloid known for its strong antioxidant activity present in leaves/bark of boldo tree(Peumus boldus Molina),a native tree in ***,we aimed to investigate the nephroprotective effect of boldine and its underlying mechanisms on cisplatin-induced rat renal *** Wistar albino rats divided into 5 groups(Control,Cis,Bold.40,Cis+Bold.20,Cis+Bold.40 groups)were *** received boldine(20 or 40 mg/kg/day),or vehicle(saline)intraperitoneal for 14 days and a single dose cisplatin(7 mg/kg,ip)was applied on the 10th day to induce *** and kidney tissue were weighed to determine kidney *** urea nitrojen(BuN)and creatinine levels,the amount of thiobarbituric acid reactive substances(TBarS,an index of lipid peroxidation),superoxide dismutase(SOD),glutathione peroxidase(GPx)enzyme activities and tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α)levels were measured and histopathologic examination was *** nitric oxide synthase(iNOS)and caspase-3 expressions were detected *** induced by cisplatin was apparent by elevated levels of BuN,creatinine,kidney index,TBarS and TNF-α,and decreased body weight,SOD and GPx enzyme *** with boldine protected the renal function at both boldine doses by fixing the renal damage markers,oxidative stress,caspase-3 and iNOS *** findings supported biochemical *** together these findings indicate that boldine has promising protective effect against cisplatin nephrotoxicity by improving oxidative stress,inflammation,histopathological alterations and by alleviating caspase 3 expression.

Coexistence of duodenum derived aggressive fibromatosis and paraduodenal hydatid cyst: A case report and review of literature

Intra-abdominal aggressive fibromatosis is a locally aggressive tumor mostly originating from the mesentery or retroperitoneal space, infiltrating adjacent tissues, and very rarely metastasizing to distant organs. There are only two case reports in the English language literature where intra-abdominal aggressive fibromatosis originated from the intestinal wall. In this study, we aimed to report a case of aggressive fibromatosis originating from the muscularis propria layer of the duodenum and invading pancreas. Another interesting aspect of this case is that a primary paraduodenal hydatid cyst was incidentally detected in the surgical specimen. A 46-year-old female patient presented to our clinic with postprandial nausea and vomiting. A contrast-enhanced abdominal computerized tomography revealed a mass lesion with a size of 100 mm × 80 mm which originated from the distal pancreas and compressed the gastric pilor externally. upon exploration the distal part of duodenum, proximaljejunum, and pancreatic mass were noted to form a conglomerated structure. Therefore, the fourth part of the duodenum, a 25 cm part of the proximal jejunum, distal pancreas, and the spleen were excised enbloc. The pathology report of the specimen indicated fibromatosis with a diameter of 55 mm that originated from the muscularis propria of the duodenum and extended into the pancreatic parenchyma. There was also an incidentally detected 10 mm paraduodenal hydatid cyst. No tumor recurrence was detected at a follow-up period of 24 mo. In conclusion, the most ideal treatment of desmoid-type fibromatosis is surgical resection of the mass lesion with clean surgical borders. Although rare, this tumor may originate from the intestinal wall. Histopathological verification is of great significance for a proper diagnosis.

Countries face the risk of natural resource curse because of making their economic growth excessively dependent on natural *** excessive resource dependence causes such a risk,it is inevitable that resource-rich countries will need resource rent up to a certain level of economic *** the other hand,transferring the wealth achieved after this maturity level to productive investment areas also reduces the resource dependency levels of *** this context,countries that capture the possible inverted u-shaped relationship between economic growth and resource dependence can escape the *** on this,the aim of this research is to determine the validity of the Kuznets type relationship between resource dependence and economic growth for the first time in the *** nations that rely heavily on natural resources are used as a sample for *** countries with a share of total resource rent in national revenue greater than 25%are taken into consideration throughout the selection process for these *** novel panel data methodologies,the effects of capital accumulation,public spending,foreign direct investment,and economic growth on the dependence on natural resources is examined from 1993 to *** results reveal that capital accumulation reduces resource dependency while foreign investments and government size increases *** addition,the Resource-Based Kuznets curve concept is supported by empirical data demonstrating an inverted-u-shaped relationship between economic growth and resource dependence for these *** thresholds derived from the parameters show that Saudi arabia and Kazakhstan are well beyond this *** Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Republic of the Congo,on the other hand,remain a long way from this ***,Iraq,Mongolia,Iran,and Azerbaijan have national incomes that are close at the threshold.

Combine harvesters are important in that grain and legumes directly affect the production *** the other hand,it forms an important branch of the agricultural machinery *** are many unknown constraints on machines when harvesting with a combine harvester,including the noise and vibration that occur in the combine harvester *** study aims to analyze noise and vibration in conventional combine harvesters using *** accelerometers were installed on each side of the concave and two microphones were used to register the noise of the threshing *** result showed that effects of machine speeds(3.5 km/h,4.5 km/h and 5.5 km/h)and rotor speeds(950 r/min,850 r/min and 950 r/min)were significantly important for the mean range values of the left and right accelerometer in the X,Y and Z *** machine’s speed and rotor speed were not significantly important for the mean range values of the left and right microphones.
