The ability of biostimulants and copper-containing fungicide to protect cotton against chilling stress

Background Cotton(Gossypium hirsutum L.),adapted to tropical and subtropical regions of the world,is highly sensitive to low temperatures throughout its life *** objective of this study was to evaluate the mitigating effects of different doses of animal-derived(0.25%,0.50%,and 1.00% Isabion■),seaweed-based(0.165%,0.330%,and 0.660% Proton■)biostimulants,as well as a copper(Cu)-containing fungicide application,on cotton cultivar Lazer seedlings at the four true leaves(V4)*** plants were exposed to a low temperature of 5℃for 48 h,and the changes in morphological(seedling fresh and dry weight,plant height,and stem diameter)and physiological parameters(leaf temperature,chlorophyll content,relative water content,electrolyte leakage,and relative injury)were *** The results revealed that chilling stress reduced plant growth,while biostimulants helped protect the plants and overcome the adverse effects of *** chilling stress,there was a considerable reduction in seedling fresh weight(SFW),seedling dry weight(SDW),plant height(PH),stem diameter(SD),leaf temperature(LT),and relative water content(RWC).Cotton seedlings treated with the animal-derived biostimulants showed significantly enhanced SFW,SDW,PH,SD,LT,chlorophyll content(Chl),electrolyte leakage(EL),and relative injury(RI),although there were no positive changes in *** significant differences in the morphological traits were observed among the doses of seaweed *** SDW,PH,EL,and RI,the best results were obtained with the application of a fungicide containing *** These results show the efficiency of the biostimulant and fungicide treatments in mitigating low-temperature stress in cotton *** a copper-containing fungicide to cotton seedlings helped to counteract the negative effects of low-temperature stress and to protect the plants from damage by maintaining electrolyte *** the biostimulant applications,all levels of animal-derive

Subcutaneous vein network plays important roles to maintain microcirculation that is related to some diagnostic *** developments of optical imaging technologies,still the difficulties about deep skin vascular imaging have been *** the other hand,since hemoglobin con-centration of human blood has key role in the veins imaging by optical manner,the used wavelength in vascular imaging,must be chosen considering absorption of *** this research,we constructed a near infrared(NIR)light source because of lower absorption of hemoglobin in this optical *** obtain vascular image,reflectance geometry was ***,from recorded images,vascular network analysis,such as calculation of width of vascular of interest and complexity of selected region were *** comparing with other modalities,we observed that proposed imaging system has great advantages including nonionized radiation,moderate penetration depth of 0.5-3 mm and diameter of 1 mm,cost-effective and algorit hmic simplicity for analysis.

Objective:To investigate the relation between fruit seeds,plants residuals and appendicitis. Methods:Among cases that underwent appendectomy,the appendicitis cases having fruit seeds and undigested plant residuals in their etiology were examined ***, histopathological features,age,sex,and parameters of morbidity and mortality were used. Results:Fruit seed was found in one case(0.05%) with presence of pus in appendix lumen, undigested plant residuals in 7 cases(0.35%).It was determined that there were appendix inflammation in 2 of the plant residuals cases,while there were obstruction and lymphoid hyperplasia in the appendix lumen of 5 *** mortality was ***:The ratio of acute appendicitis caused by plants is minimal among all appendectomised patients, but avoidence of eating undigested fruit seeds and chewing plants well may help to prevent appendicitis.

This work;It was made to determine the positive and negative usage information, attitudes and behaviors of social networking networks for users. Today, it is well known how the wide social effects of social networking sites are widespread and effective. As far as it can be followed from written and visual media, it causes significant damages for attitudes and behaviors for individuals. Looking at the results of the study, it seems impossible to limit the time and necessity of these networks for people, but it is understood that people force their limits and capacity. It was determined that the general acceptance and rejection areas are mixed and the dominant distinctive effects were weakened. Unable to prevent social dissolution and deterioration was realized by these social networks of networks. However, we cannot only talk about negative effects because their positive effects should be mentioned. Data were obtained in this direction. For example, some segments encourage the users of these sites to have more freedom, to develop democracy and human rights awareness. However, the real problem is when and where to stand. This study;Social networking networks use information, attitudes and behaviors;It was carried out for the purpose of evaluating the use of nicknames and networks for the use of networks. The data of the study were obtained by the application of a questionnaire and the data obtained were analyzed with appropriate statistical analysis methods. In the first part of the study, field study/operational concept scanning is performed and theoretical information is included. A Simulation Based Comparison of Correlation Coefficients with Regard to Type I Error Rate and Power

In this simulation study, five correlation coefficients, namely, Pearson, Spearman, Kendal Tau, Permutation-based, and Winsorized were compared in terms of Type I error rate and power under different scenarios where the underlying distributions of the variables of interest, sample sizes and correlation patterns were varied. Simulation results showed that the Type I error rate and power of Pearson correlation coefficient were negatively affected by the distribution shapes especially for small sample sizes, which was much more pronounced for Spearman Rank and Kendal Tau correlation coefficients especially when sample sizes were small. In general, Permutation-based and Winsorized correlation coefficients are more robust to distribution shapes and correlation patterns, regardless of sample size. In conclusion, when assumptions of Pearson correlation coefficient are not satisfied, Permutation-based and Winsorized correlation coefficients seem to be better alternatives.

Leading Indicators of Heating Coal Pricing in Turkey: A Coal Pricing Model (2003-2009)

In this study, a coal pricing model for Turkey is developed employing Granger causality and cointegration analysis by using monthly data between January 2003 and April 2009. Empirical results based on Granger causality tests indicate that foreign coal futures prices and domestic consumer price index for energy sector can be used as the leading indica- tors for domestic coal prices for Turkey. An error correction model for Turkish coal pricing is specified by taking into account the results of Granger causality. The forecast of the coal prices based on error correction model is giving very successful results. It is observed that the coal prices and forecasted coal prices values are almost moving together or very close to each other.

To understand deeply the structural, elastic and thermodynamic characteristics of AI2X （X= Sc, Y） compounds in C15 type （space number 227） Cu2Mg structure, we have performed ab-initio density functional theory within the local density approximation （LDA） and the generalized gradient approximation （GGA）. The thermodynamic properties of the considered structures are obtained through the quasi-harmonic Debye model. We have presented the results on the basic physical parameters, such as the lattice constant, bulk modu- lus, pressure derivative of bulk modulus, second-order elastic constants, Zener anisotropy factor, Poissongs ratio, Youngts modulus, and isotropic shear modulus. In order to gain further information, the pressure- and temperature-dependent behaviour of the volume, bulk modulus, thermal expansion coefficient, heat capacity, entropy, Debye temperature and Griineisen parameter were also evaluated over a pressure range of 0-20 GPa for Al2Sc and 0-17 GPa for Al2Y compound and a wide temperature range of 0-2000 K for both compounds. The obtained results were compared with the other reported values.

A Comprehensive Evaluation of Eye Surgery Performance by Sigma Quality Level for Eye Care Hospitals in Turkey

Sigma Quality Levels are statistical indices that can play an important role in establishment of more reliable and robust surgical processes. This article aims to highlight the value of interpreting sigma levels as a modern means of both the efficiency and success rate of nine different type of eye surgery processes involved. Data were compiled from a comprehensive study of multiple sources—all based on medical practices—carried out in a range of eye care hospitals throughout Turkey. It is found that the eye surgery processes in Turkey operates at an average of 3.4816 sigma level. This corresponds to a DPMO of 23,725 and a yield of approximately 97.63% in 7292 surgeries. Thus, Turkish eye care hospitals have to make significant changes to drive to a 6σ level performance.

Elimination of Post-Operative Complications in Penetrating Keratoplasty by Deploying Six Sigma

This paper shows how a public eye and research hospital in Turkey initiated Six Sigma principles to reduce the number of complications occurring after penetrating keratoplasty surgeries. Data were collected for nine years. To analyse the complications among 55 patients (59 eyes) underwent penetrative keratoplasty, main tools of Six Sigma’s Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control (DMAIC) improvement cycle such as SIPOC table and Failure, Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) were implemented. Sources and root causes of eleven types of complications were identified and reported. For a successful penetrating keratoplasty surgery patient’s anatomy, suitability of donor cornea, experience of ophthalmic surgeon, sterilization and hygiene, and performance of the equipment were determined to be the “critical-to-quality” factors. The complication with the highest hazard score was found to be the glaucoma. The process sigma level of the process was measured to be 3.1418. The surgical team concluded that all types of post-operative complications should be significantly reduced by taking the necessary preventive measures.
