AIM： To evaluate the impact of liver steatosis upon response to given therapy in chronic hepatitis B （CriB） ***： 84 consecutive Crib patients treated with 48-wk PEGylated interferon （PEG-IFN） therapy were enrolled. Baseline characteristics and sustained viral re- sponse （SVr） to PEG-IFN therapy were ***： Mean body mass index （BMI） was 27.36 ±4.4 kg/m2. Six （7.1%） had hypertension and three （3.5%） had diabetes mellitus. Steatosis was present in 22.6% （19/84） of liver biopsy samples. Age, BMI, and triglyceride levels of the patients with hepatic steatosis were significantly higher than those without hepatic steatosis （P 〈 0.05）. SVr to PEG-IFN therapy was 21.4% （18/84）. Sixteen of these 18 CriB patients with SVr （88.9%） did not have any histopathologically determined steatosis. On the other hand, only two of the 19 CriB patients with hepatic steatosis had SVr （10.5%）. Although the SVr rate observed in patients without steatosis （16/65, 24.6%） was higher compared to those with steatosis （2/19, 10.5%）, the difference was not statistically significant （P 〉 0.05）.CONCLUSION： Occurrence of hepatic steatosis is significantly high in CHB patients and this association leads to a trend of decreased, but statistically insignificant, SVr rates to PEG-IFN treatment,

AIM： To determine the factors affecting mortality in pa- tients who developed graft-versus-host disease （GvHD） after liver transplantation （LT）. METHODS： We performed a review of studies of GvHD following LT published in the English literature and ac- cessed the PubMed, Medline, EBSCO, EMBASE, and Google Scholar databases. Using relevant search phras- es, 88 articles were identified. Of these, 62 articles con- raining most of the study parameters were considered eligible for the study. risk factors were first examined using a univariate Kaplan-Meier model, and variables with a significant association （P 〈 0.05） were then sub- jected to multivariate analyses using a Cox proportional- hazards model. rESULTS： The 61 articles reported 87 patients, 58 male and 29 female, mean age, 40.4 ± 15.5 years （range： 8 mo to 74 years）, who met the inclusion criteria for the present study. Deaths occurred in 59 （67.8%） patients, whereas 28 （32.2%） survived after a mean follow-up period of 280.8 ± 316.2 d （range： 27-2285 d）. Among the most frequent symptoms were rash （94.2%）, fever （66.6%）, diarrhea （54%）, and pancytopenia （54%）. The average time period between LT and first symptom on- set was 60.6 ± 190.1 d （range： 2-1865 d）. The Kaplan- Meier analysis revealed that pancytopenia （42.8% vs 59.3%, P = 0.03）, diarrhea （39.2% vs 61.0%, P = 0.04）, age difference between the recipient and the donor （14.6 ± 3.1 years vs 22.6 ± 2.7 years, P 〈 0.0001）, and time From first symptom occurrence to diagnosis or treatment （13.3 ± 2.6 mo vs 15.0 ± 2.3 mo, P 〈 0.0001） were significant factors affecting mortality, whereas age, sex, presence of rash and fever, use of immunosuppressive agents, acute rejection before GvHD, etiological causes, time of onset, and donor type were not associated with mortality risk. The neurovascular bundle of the prostate and cavernosal nerves have been used to describe the same structure ever since the publication of the first studies on the neuroanatomy of the lower urogenital tract of men, studies that were prompted by postoperative complications arising from radical prostatectomy. In urological surgery every effort is made to preserve or restore the neurovascular bundle of the prostate to avoid erectile dysfunction （ED）. However, the postoperative potency rates are yet to be satisfactory despite all advancements in radical prostatectomy technique. As the technology associated with urological surgery develops and topographical studies on neuroanatomy are cultivated, new observations seriously challenge the classical teachings on the topography of the neurovascular bundle of the prostate and the cavernosal nerves. The present review revisits the classical and most recent data on the topographical anatomy of the neurovascular bundle of the prostate prostatectomy techniques.

AIM: To assess whether trace metal concentrations (which influence metabolism as both essential and non-essential elements) are increased or decreased in cancerous tissues and to understand the precise role of these metals in carcinogenesis. METHODS: Concentrations of trace metals including Cd, Ni, Cu, Zn, Fe, Mg and Ca in both cancerous and non- cancerous stomach tissue samples were determined by atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS). Tissue samples were digested using microwave energy. Slotted tube atom trap was used to improve the sensitivity of copper and cadmium in flame AAS determinations. rESULTS: From the obtained data in this study, the concentrations of nickel, copper and iron in the cancerous human stomach were found to be significantly higher than those in the non-cancerous tissues, by using t-test for the paired samples. Furthermore, the average calcium concentrations in the cancerous stomach tissue samples were found to be significantly lower than those in the non-cancerous stomach tissue samples by using t-test. Exceedingly high Zn concentrations (207-826 mg/ kg) were found in two paired stomach tissue samples from both cancerous and non-cancerous parts. CONCLUSION: In contrast to the literature data for Cu and Fe, the concentrations of copper, iron and nickel in cancerous tissue samples are higher than those in the non-cancerous samples. Furthermore, the Ca levels are lower in cancerous tissue samples than in non-cancerous tissue samples.

As known, the method to obtain a sequence space by using convergence field of an infinite matrix is an old method in the theory of sequence spaces. However, the study of convergence field of an infinite matrix in the space of almost convergent sequences is so new （see [15]）. The purpose of this paper is to introduce the new spaces ^ ～f and fo consisting of all sequences whose Ceshro transforms of order one are in the spaces f and ^ ～ f0, respectively. Also, in this paper, we show that ^ ～f and ^ ～f0 are linearly isomorphic to the spaces f and f0, respectively. The β- and γ-duals of the spaces ^ ～f and 2% are computed. Furthermore, the classes （^ ～f： μ） and （μ ： f） of infinite matrices are characterized for any given sequence space μ, and determined the necessary and sufficient conditions on a matrix A to satisfy Bc-core（Ax） K-core（x）, K-core（Ax） Bg-core（x）, Bc-core（Ax） Be-core（x）, Bc-core（Ax） t-core（x） for all x ∈ t∞.

Evaluation of environmental parameters in logistic regression models for landslide susceptibility mapping

The aim of this study was to determine how well the landslide susceptibility parameters,obtained by data-dependent statistical models,matched with the parameters used in the *** order to achieve this goal,20 different environmental parameters were mapped in a well-studied landslide-prone area,the Asarsuyu catchment in northwest Turkey.A total of 4400 seed cells were generated from 47 different landslides and merged with different attributes of 20 different environmental causative variables into a *** order to run a series of logistic regression models,different random landslide-free sample sets were produced and combined with seed *** susceptibility maps were created with an average success rate of nearly 80%.The coherence among the models showed spatial correlations greater than 90%.Models converged in the parameter selection peculiarly,in that the same nine of 20 were chosen by different logistic regression *** these nine parameters,lithology,geological structure(distance/density),landcover-landuse,and slope angle were common parameters selected by both the regression models and *** assessment of the logistic models was assessed by absolute *** models were field checked with the landslides resulting from the 12 November 1999,Kaynas¸li Earthquake(Ms7.2).

We investigate some problems for truncated Toeplitz operators. Namely, the solvability of the riccati operator equation on the set of all truncated Toeplitz operators on the model space Kθ = H^2θθH^2 is studied. We study in terms of Berezin symbols invertibility of model operators. We also prove some results for the Berezin number of the truncated Toeplitz operators. Moreover, we study some property for H2-functions in terms of noncyclicity of co-analytic Toeplitz operators and hypercyclicity of model operators.
