Bushfires are devastating to forest managers,owners,residents,and the natural *** tech-nological advances indicate a potential for faster response times in terms of detecting and suppressing ***,to date,all these technologies have been applied in *** paper introduces the latest fire detection and sup-pression technologies from ground to *** operations research method was used to assemble these technologies into a theoretical framework for fire detection and *** framework harnesses the advantages of satellite-based,drone,sensor,and human reporting technologies as well as image processing and artificial intelligence machine *** study concludes that,if a system is designed to maximise the use of available technologies and carefully adopts them through complementary arrangements,a fire detection and resource suppression system can achieve the ultimate aim:to reduce the risk of fire hazards and the dam-age they may cause.

Effect of pathological myopia on biomechanical properties:a study by ocular response analyzer

AIM: To evaluate the ocular response analyzer(oRA)measurements of patients with pathological myopia in comparison with those of emmetropic control subjects,and to investigate the correlation between these oRA measurements and spherical equivalent(SE).METHoDS: Measurements of 53 eyes of 53 subjects with pathological myopia(SE >-6.00 D) were compared with those of 60 eyes of 60 emmetropic controls. Corneal hysteresis(CH), corneal resistance factor(CRF),noncontact tonometer intraocular pressure(IoPg), and corneal-compensated IoP(IoPcc) were obtained for each subject. The refractive error value was determined as SE via a cycloplegic refraction ***: The mean age was 54.1±18.9y(ranging from5 to 88) in the pathological myopic group and 56.2±19.0y(ranging from 6 to 89) in the control group. There were no significant differences between the groups concerning age and sex. CH and CRF were significantly lower in the pathological myopic group than in the control group(P oPcc and IoPg were significantly higher in the pathological myopic group than in the control group(P ositive correlations between CH and SE(r =0.565, P orrelations between IoPcc and SE(r =-0.432, P =0.001) and between IoPg and SE(r =-0.401,P =0.003).CoNCLUSIoN: The present study displayed that pathological myopia affected biomechanical properties measured by oRA. The results of corneal biomechanicalproperties measured by oRA may need to be appreciated by taking refraction into account. Further, pathological myopia might be related with the increased IoP.

In this study, we present the analytical solutions of bound states for the Schrodinger equation with the mulfiparameter potential containing the different types of physical potentials via the asymptotic iteration method by applying the Pekeristype approximation to the centrifugal potential. For any n and l （states） quantum numbers, we derive the relation that gives the energy eigenvalues for the bound states numerically and the corresponding normalized eigenfunctions. We also plot some graphics in order to investigate effects of the multiparameter potential parameters on the energy eigenvalues. Furthermore, we compare our results with the ones obtained in previous works and it is seen that our numerical results are in good agreement with the literature.

oBJECTIVE:To evaluate school success in pediatric patients undergoing acupuncture treatment for ***: The grades achieved during both school terms by children undergoing acupuncture treatment for various indications at the pediatric out patient clinic of Ulus State Hospital were analyzed. Exam grades in mathematics, social studies,and Turkish was compared between the first and the second terms. Forty children were included in thestudy,with 22 male and 18 female,and their average age was 11.1 years. These patients were undergoing acupuncture treatment for attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder(ADHD), enuresis nocturna, migraine, obesity, atopic dermatitis, alopecia areata, and Tourette's syndrome. Treatments were done at the beginning of the second term. Four of the 25 patients with ADHD had borderline intelligence *** report cards of all 40 patients were examined, and their grades in the first and these condschool term were ***: There was a statistically significant increase in the grades obtained in mathematics, social studies, and Turkish(Pom the first to the second school term. When 4 ADHD patients with borderline deficiency in intelligence were excluded, and the grades among the 21 patients with ADHD were compared for both terms, there was also a statistically significant increase in mathematics, social studies, and Turkish grades(PoNCLUSIoN: Acupuncture contributed to the academic success of the children who under went acupuncture treatment for their primary symptoms.

Two vic-dioxime ligands （LxH2） containing morpholine group have been synthesized from 4-[2-（dimethylaminoethyl）] morpholine with anti-phenylchloroglyoxime or anti-monochloroglyoxime in absolute THF at -15 ℃. Reaction of two vic-dioxime ligands with MCl2·nH2o （M： Ni, Cu or Co and n=2 or 6） salts in 1 ： 2 molar ratio afforded metal complexes of type [M（LxH）2] or [M（LxH）2·2H2o]. All of metal complexes are non-electrolytes as shown by their molar conductivities （Am） in DMF （dimethyl formamide） at 10^-3 mol·L^-1. Structures of the ligands and metal complexes have been solved by elemental analyses, FT-IR, UV-Vis, ^1H NMR and ^13C NMR, magnetic susceptibility measurements, molar conductivity measurements. Furthermore, redox properties of the metal complexes were investigated by cyclic voltammetry.

Abiotic and biotic factors that cause damage to forest trees also threaten the sustainability of forest *** winter storms can be one of the most damaging forces,very few studies have focused on winter storm damage in *** prevent or minimize storm damage,we must evaluate the factors that influence the degree of damage and develop storm risk maps for the forested ***,a GIS-based mathematical model(fuzzy logic)was used to develop such a risk map by considering risk factors such as tree species,tree age,crown density,site quality,topographical features(elevation,slope,aspect),climatic variables(wind,precipitation),and soil *** Alabarda Forest Enterprise Chief within the borders of Tavs?anl?Forest Enterprise Directorate was selected as the study area due to high occurrence of storm damage in the region during winter 2015–*** model verification,the risk map of storm damage was compared to the actual areal distribution of storm damage reported by the Enterprise *** model based on fuzzy logic indicated that slightly more than half of the study area(52.49%)was under very low storm damage risk,28.12%was under low risk and 19.19%was classified as high risk.A very small portion of the total study area was classified as very high *** results indicated a close relation with the storm damage map generated using Tavsanl?FED *** results revealed that the most effective risk predictors for overall storm damage risk were wind direction and speed,followed by slope and site quality factors.

AIM:To give an overview of the literature on left-sided acute appendicitis (LSAA) associated with situs inversus totalis (SIT) and midgut malrotation (MM).METHoDS:We present a new case of LSAA with SIT and a literature review of studies published in the English language on LSAA,accessed via PubMed and Google Scholar ***:Ninety-five published cases of LSAA were evaluated and a 25-year-old female,who presented to our clinic with left lower abdominal pain caused by LSAA,is *** the reviewed literature,fiftyseven patients were male and 38 were female with an age range of 8 to 82 years and a median age of 29.1 ± 15.9 ***-six patients had SIT,23 had MM,three had cecal malrotation,and two had a previously unnoted congenital ***-nine patients had presentedto the hospital with left lower,14 with right lower and seven with bilateral lower quadrant pain,and seven subjects complained of left upper quadrant *** diagnosis was established preoperatively in 49 patients,intraoperatively in 19,and during the postoperative period in five;14 patients were aware of having this *** data of eight patients were not *** patients underwent laparoscopic appendectomy,which was combined with cholecystectomy in two *** examination of the appendix specimens revealed adenocarcinoma in only two of 95 ***:The diagnosis of left lower quadrant pain is based on well-established clinical symptoms,physical examination and physician's experience.
