AIM:To evaluate the clinical use of Fourier analysis of videokeratography data in the diagnosis and follow-up of keratoconus(KC).METHODS:We conducted a chart review of consecutive patients presented to our cornea clinic.A team of two experienced cornea specialists divided the patients into three groups:normal cornea,forme fruste KC(FFKC),and clinical *** exclusion criteria were a history of previous ocular surgery,any accompanying corneal pathology other than KC,high myopia(>6.00 diopters),amblyopia,pregnancy,breastfeeding,or any current autoimmune *** data of Fourier series harmonic analysis were evaluated for their diagnostic capacity using the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve.A binary logistic regression analysis was also conducted to construct a diagnostic model.A total of 259 eyes showed progression in the clinical KC group and underwent a combination of accelerated corneal collagen cross-linking and topographyguided customized treatment with an excimer ***:The study included 1262 eyes(618 normal,530 KC,and 114 FFKC)of 1262 *** observed that maximum decentration(MaxDec)was almost as good as maximum keratometry(Kmax)in detecting progressive *** area under the curve(AUC)was 0.95 for KC[95%confidence interval(CI):0.93-0.96]and 0.84 for FFKC(95%CI:0.79-0.88).Higher predictive accuracy was obtained using a model combining the spherical component,MaxDec,irregularity,and regular astigmatism in the center of the cornea(AUC:0.97;sensitivity:89%,and specificity:96%).CONCLUSION:Decentration,Kmax,and posterior radii of curvatures from a 3.0-mm optical zone centered on the thinnest point of the cornea provide the highest accuracy with low reproducibility of Kmax.

Poly (m-aminobenzene sulfonic acid, m-ABSA) films were electrochemically prepared by cyclic voltammetry (CV) in 0.1 mol L–1 KCl solution. The dopamine (DA) selectivity of polymeric electrodes prepared at the different thicknesses was examined in the presence of ascorbic acid (AA). The results showed that the modified electrode showed an excellent electrocatalytical effect towards oxidation of dopamine (DA) and ascorbic acid (AA). Electrostatic interaction between the negatively charged poly(m-ABSA) film and either cationic DA species or anionic AA species favorably contributed to the redox response of DA and AA. Moreover, the regular and repetitive responses for dopamine were obtained even in the presence of the some interfering substances such as ascorbic acid, NaCl, NaClO4, Na2SO4 ,NaNO3 and KCl.

目的:分析Duane眼球后退综合征(DRS)患者的临床特点及手术疗效。方法:评估94例DRS患者临床数据。记录完整的眼科数据,包括年龄、性别、侧位、DRS类型、偏角、异常头部姿势(AHP)、眼球后退、过冲及手术入路类型。结果:患者年龄为15.4±9.18岁,其中78例男性,16例女性。单侧和双侧受累分别为87%和13%。在单侧DRS患者中,左眼占65%。94例患者中,59.5%的患者为I型,29.7%的患者为II型,8.5%的患者为III型,2.1%的患者为IV型。大多数患者(36,38%)为嗜热性,43例(96%)患者术前AHP出现10°以上。有40例(43%)患者出现过度调校,通常为II型。对45例(48%)患者进行手术治疗。共32例(78%)行水平直肌手术后获得了较好疗效,24例(53%)患者AHP改善。结论:侧直肌的Y分裂和后榫固定在有明显过校的情况下都有令人满意的结果。垂直直肌转位增强术在限制外展方面取得了最佳效果。

Aim: Erectile dysfunction may be observed in up to 80% of patients with Peyronie's disease. An objective evaluation of the erectile function is attempted to work out in patients with Peyronie's disease. Methods: Penile deformity, sexual function and penile vascular status were analyzed in 123 patients with Peyronie's disease, who had not received any pertinent treatment. Results: Penile deformity, palpable plaque and pain on erection were seen in 112 (91%), 97(78.8%) and 27 (21.9%) of the 123 patients, respectively. Of the 76 patients evaluated by color Doppler ultrasounography, veno-occlusive dysfunction as the vascular component for erectile dysfunction was found in 17 (22.3%), arterial insufficiency in 10(13.1%) and a mixed picture in 23 (30.2%). Conclusion: The documentation of penile erectile function and the determination of the vascular status using color Doppler ultrasonography can guide the appropriate therapeutic choice.

Highly porous 17-4 PH stainless steel foam for implant applications was produced by space holder technique. Metal release and weight loss from 17-4 PH stainless steel foams were investigated in fluoride added artificial saliva environment by static immersion test. An inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometer was employed to measure the concentrations of various metal ions. Effects of fluoride content of artificial saliva on metal release and weight loss from the steel foams were investigated. Effects of immersion time, pH value and process parameters on the weight loss and metal release were determined. Pore morphology, pore size and mechanical properties of the 17-4 PH stainless steel foams were also characterized.

Grids of stellar evolution omy/astrophysics, such as planet hosting are required in many fields of astron- stars, binaries, clusters, chemically peculiar stars, etc. In this study, a grid of stellar evolution models with updated ingredients and recently determined solar abundances is presented. The solar values for the initial abundances of hydrogen, heavy elements and mixing-length parameter are 0.0172, 0.7024 and 1.98, respectively. The mass step is small enough （0.01 M） that interpolation for a given star mass is not required. The range of stellar mass is 0.74 to 10.00M. We present results in different forms of tables for easy and general appli- cation. The second stellar harmonic, required for analysis of apsidal motion of eclips- ing binaries, is also listed. We also construct rotating models to determine the effect of rotation on stellar structure and derive fitting formulae for luminosity, radius and the second harmonic as a function of rotational parameter. We also compute and list colors and bolometric corrections of models required for transformation between theo- retical and observational results. The results are tested for the Sun, the Hyades cluster, the slowly rotating chemically peculiar Am stars and eclipsing binaries with apsidal motion. The theoretical and observational results along isochrones are in good agree- ment. The grids are also applicable to rotating stars provided that equatorial velocity is given.

This study focused on the investigation of toxic and trace metal levels in fish caught from the Black Sea,which is facing pollution threats from various human *** also aimed to assess the potential health risks associated with consuming fish and contribute to the development of strategies for sustainable fisheries *** presence was observed in the muscle tissues of four commercially consumed fish species(anchovy,whiting,horse mackerel and red mullet)from nine different stations in the Black *** the metals,the highest average concentration was observed for aluminium(Al)in anchovy and the lowest concentration for cadmium(Cd)in ***,the levels were generally below the maximum allowable limits recommended by the FAO,WHO,EC,and Turkish Food *** study results showed that metal concentrations in the analyzed fish species did not pose significant non-carcinogenic health risks to *** research findings show that some fish species studied from the Black Sea exhibit high metal levels,the concentrations of toxic and trace elements are generally within acceptable thresholds for safe fish *** findings of this study are thought to help stakeholders develop strategies for environmental protection and sustainable fisheries management in the region.
