Intraocular pressure measurement over soft contact lens by rebound tonometer: a comparative study

AIM: To evaluate the intraocular pressure(IOP)measurements by Icare rebound tonometer over a contact lens in comparison with Goldmann applanation tonometry(GAT). METHODS: Fifty patients using contact lens were included in this study. One of the eyes of the patients was selected randomly and their IOP were measured by rebound tonometer with and without contact lens(RTCL,RT respectively) and by GAT, as well as their central corneal thickness(CCT) by optical pachymeter. The results of both methods were compared by correlation analysis, general linear method repeated measure and Bland-Altman ***: Mean IOP values measured by RTCL, RT and GAT were 15.68 ±3.7, 14.50 ±3.4 and 14.16 ±2.8(P <0.001), respectively. Mean IOP by RTCL was significantly higher than the measurements implemented by RT and GAT(P <0.001), while there was no difference between the measurements by GAT and RT(P =0.629). There was a good level of positive correlation between GAT and RTCL as well as RT(r =0.786 P <0.001, r =0.833 P <0.001, respectively). We have observed that CCT increase did not show any correlation with the differences of the measurements between RTCL and RT(P =0.329), RTCL and GAT(P =0.07) as well as RT and GAT(P =0.189) in linear regression ***: The average of the measurements over contact lens by rebound tonometer was found to be higher than what was measured by GAT. Although this difference is statistically significant, it may be clinically negligible in the normal population.

目的:使用频域光学相干断层扫描(SD-OCT)检测口服异维A酸患者角膜及结膜上皮厚度。方法:共64例64眼寻常痤疮患者纳入研究。32例患者为A组,每日口服异维A酸0.5mg/kg。另外32例患者为B组,每日口服异维A酸0.8mg/kg。使用SD-OCT于服药前、治疗45d、4mo以及结束治疗1mo后,检测中央角膜厚度(CCT)、中央角膜上皮厚度(CCET)、中央角膜上皮基底膜厚度(CCEBMT)、非上皮中央角膜厚度(NECCT)和球结膜上皮厚度(BCET)。结果:共有44例女性(68.75%)和20例男性(31.25%),平均年龄21.68±3.75岁。在两组中,CCET、CCT和BCET于服药45d、4mo以及治疗结束1mo后较治疗前变薄。CCEBMT于治疗45d以及4mo时降低,但最后一次随访时与治疗前比较差异无统计学意义。治疗中和治疗后NECCT与治疗前相比无明显差异。结论:口服异维A酸治疗的患者,眼表上皮厚度降低,而NECCT未受影响。这些患者角膜上皮厚度降低主要是因为上皮变薄。结束治疗1mo后,CCEBMT恢复到治疗前水平,眼表上皮厚度有所增加。

Investigation of the Lipophilicity of 2-Benzoylpyridine-Thiosemicarbazone Based on the Ion Transfer across the Liquid/Liquid Interface

The ion transfer reaction of 2-benzoylpyridine-thiosemicarbazone (HL), which has antimicrobial and antifungal properties and anticancer activity, has been studied to determine its lipophilicity by cyclic voltammetry at the water/1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCE) interface. The physicochemical parameters such as standard partition coefficient (lgPI)andthestandardGibbsenergyoftransfer("G0tr,,wI "o)oftheprotonatedformoftheligandwere measured asa function of pH in aqueous phase. The protonated form of the ligand exhibited reversible or quasi-reversible voltammograms at the1,***,pKa1andpKa2,weredeterminedspectrophotometrically and were found to be 12.14 and 3.24, respectively. The standard Gibbs energy of transfer ("G0tr,,wN" o) and the partition coefficient of neutral species (lgPN) were also determined by the shake-flask method. The standard Gibbs energy of transfer of this compound across the water/1,2-DCE interface was evaluated as the quantitative measure of its lipophilicity. The difference between lgPI and lgPN was related to the degree of charge delocalization and was used to evaluate qualitatively the lipophilicity of the ligand.

Background Currently,there is no comprehensive and multidisciplinary recommendation study covering all aspects of pediatric dysphagia(PD).This study aimed to generate PD management recommendations with methods that can be used in clinical practice to fill this gap in our country and in the world,from the perspective of experienced multidisciplinary *** This recommendation paper was generated by a multidisciplinary team,using the seven-step process and a three-round modified Delphi survey via ***,ten open-ended questions were created,and then detailed recommendations including management,diagnosis,treatment,and follow-up were created with the answers from these *** recommendation item was voted on by the experts as overall consensus(strong recommendation),approaching consensus(weak recommendation)and divergent consensus(not recommended).Results In the 1st Delphi round,a questionnaire of 414 items was prepared based on the experts’responses to ten open-ended *** the 2nd Delphi round,59.2%of these items were accepted as *** the 3rd Delphi round,62.6%of 246 items were accepted for inclusion in the *** final version recommendations consisted of 154 *** This study includes comprehensive and detailed answers for every problem that could be posed in clinical practice for the management of PD,and recommendations are for all pediatric patients with both oropharyngeal and esophageal dysphagia.
