Hydra.lic slotting in a gas drainage borehole is an effective method of enhancing gas drainage perfor- mance. However, it frequently occurs that a large amount of slotting products （mainly the coal slurry and gas） intensely spurt out of the borehole during the slotting, which adversely affects the slotting efficiency. Despite extensive previous investigations on the mechanism and prevention-device design of the spurt during ordinary borehole drilling, a very few studies has focused on the spurt in the s Ottlng pro ] ＂ _ cess. The slotting spurt is mainly caused by two reasons： the coal and gas outburst in the borehole and the borehole deslagging blockage. This paper focuses on the second reason, and investigates the hydra.lic deslagging flow patterns in the annular space between the drill pipe and borehole wall Results show that there are six deslagging flow patterns when the drill pipe is still： pure slurry flow, pure gas flow, bubble flow, intermittent flow, layering flow and annular flow. When the drill pipe rotates, each of those six flow patterns changes due to the Taylor vortex effect. Outcomes of this study could help to better understand the slotting-spurt mechanism and provide guidance on the anti-spurt strategies through eliminating the borehole deslagging blockage.

This article considers three types of biological systems:the dengue fever disease model,the COVID-19 virus model,and the transmission of Tuberculosis *** new technique of creating the integration matrix for the Bernoulli wavelets is ***,the novel method proposed in this paper is called the Bernoulli wavelet collocation scheme(BWCM).All three models are in the form system of coupled ordinary differential equations without an exact *** systems are converted into a system of algebraic equations using the Bernoulli wavelet collocation *** numerical wave distributions of these governing models are obtained by solving the algebraic equations via the Newton-Raphson *** results obtained from the developed strategy are compared to several schemes such as the Runge Kutta method,and ND solver in mathematical *** convergence analyses are discussed through *** newly implemented Bernoulli wavelet method improves the accuracy and converges when it is compared with the existing methods in the literature.

AIM To investigate the prognostic effect of a delayed interval between neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy(CRT) and surgery in locally advanced rectal *** We evaluated 87 patients with locally advanced mid-or distal rectal cancer undergoing total mesorectal excision following an interval period after neoadjuvant CRT at ?i?li Hamidiye Etfal Training and Research Hospital,Istanbul between January 2009 and January *** were divided into two groups according to the intervalbefore surgery: < 8 wk(group Ⅰ) and ≥ 8 wk(group Ⅱ).Data related to patients,cancer characteristics and pathological examination were collected and *** When the distribution of timing between group Ⅰ(n = 45) and group Ⅱ(n = 42) was viewed,comparison of interval periods(median ± SD) of groups showed a significant difference of as 5 ± 1.28 wk in group Ⅰ and 10.1 ± 2.2 wk in group Ⅱ(P < 0.001).The median follow-up period for all patients was 34.5(9.9-81) *** Ⅱ had significantly higher rates of pathological complete response(p CR) than group Ⅰ had(19% vs 8.9%,P = 0.002).Rate of tumor regression grade(TRG) poor response was 44.4% in group Ⅰ and 9.5% in group Ⅱ(P < 0.002).A poor pathological response was associated with worse disease-free survival(P = 0.009).The interval time did not show any association with local recurrence(P = 0.79).CONCLUSION Delaying the neoadjuvant CRT-surgery interval may provide nodal down-staging,improve p CR rate,and decrease the rate of TRG poor response.

In this study,the design of a computational heuristic based on the nonlinear liénard model is presented using the efficiency of artificial neural networks(ANNs)along with the hybridization procedures of global and local search *** global search genetic algorithm(GA)and local search sequential quadratic programming scheme(SQPS)are implemented to solve the nonlinear liénard *** objective function using the differential model and boundary conditions is designed and optimized by the hybrid computing strength of the *** motivation of the ANN procedures along with GA-SQPS comes to present reliable,feasible and precise frameworks to tackle stiff and highly nonlinear *** designed procedures of ANNs along with GA-SQPS are applied for three highly nonlinear differential *** achieved numerical outcomes on multiple trials using the designed procedures are compared to authenticate the correctness,viability and ***,statistical performances based on different measures are also provided to check the reliability of the ANN along with GASQPS.

AIM: To study the eradication rate of Helicobacter pylori (Hp) in a group of type 2 diabetes and compared it with an age and sex matched non-diabetic ***: 40 diabetic patients (21 females, 19 males;56±7 years) and 40 non-diabetic dyspeptic patients (20females, 20 males; 54±9 years) were evaluated. Diabetic patients with dyspeptic complaints were referred for upper gastrointestinal endoscopies; 2 corpus and 2 antral gastric biopsy specimens were performed on each patient. Patients with positive Hp results on histopathological examination comprised the study group. Non-diabetic dyspeptic patients seen at the Gastroenterology Outpatient Clinic and with the same biopsy and treatment protocol formed the control group.A triple therapy with amoxycillin (1 g b.i.d), clarithromycin (500 mg b.i.d) and omeprazole (20 mg b.i.d.) was given to both groups for 10 days. Cure was defined as the absence of Hp infection assessed by corpus and antrum biopsies in control upper gastrointestinal endoscopies performed 6weeks after completing the antimicrobial ***: The eradication rate was 50 % in the diabetic group versus 85 % in the non-diabetic control group (P＜0.001).CONCLUSION: Type 2 diabetic patients showed a significantly lower eradication rate than controls which may be due to changes in microvasculature of the stomach and to frequent antibiotic usage because of recurrent bacterial infections with the development of resistant strains.

The aim of this study was to determine how well the landslide susceptibility parameters,obtained by data-dependent statistical models,matched with the parameters used in the *** order to achieve this goal,20 different environmental parameters were mapped in a well-studied landslide-prone area,the Asarsuyu catchment in northwest Turkey.A total of 4400 seed cells were generated from 47 different landslides and merged with different attributes of 20 different environmental causative variables into a *** order to run a series of logistic regression models,different random landslide-free sample sets were produced and combined with seed *** susceptibility maps were created with an average success rate of nearly 80%.The coherence among the models showed spatial correlations greater than 90%.Models converged in the parameter selection peculiarly,in that the same nine of 20 were chosen by different logistic regression *** these nine parameters,lithology,geological structure(distance/density),landcover-landuse,and slope angle were common parameters selected by both the regression models and *** assessment of the logistic models was assessed by absolute *** models were field checked with the landslides resulting from the 12 November 1999,Kaynas¸li Earthquake(Ms7.2).

Using 15N tracer technique,we investigated the potential rates of denitrification,anaerobic ammonium oxidation,dis-similatory nitrate reduction to ammonium(DNRA),and their partitioning among nitrate reduction,as well as the N_(2)O emission rates in a paddy soil receiving various biochar(0%,0.03%,0.1%,0.5%,and 1.0%;w/w)and straw(0.1%)over six consecutive *** showed that except for the 1.0%amendment treatment,biochar significantly(Plitated the reduction of N_(2)O to N_(2).The promoting effects of biochar on DNRA rates and DNRA/(denitrification+DNRA)ratios were attributed to the increased carbon availability and the altered nitrate reducer ***,our study suggests that biochar amendment in the paddy soil is helpful for N conservation by favoring nitrate partitioning toward DNRA process,which deepens our understanding of how biochar mediates N cycling in the paddy field.

AIM： To prospectively investigate serum CA 19-9 levels in type 2 diabetic patients in comparison with age and gender-matched control subjects.METHODS： We recorded duration of diabetes and examined fasting glucose levels, HbAlc levels and serum CA 19-9 levels in 76 type 2 diabetic patients and 76 controls. Abdominal CT was performed in order to eliminate abdominal malignancy in the diabetic and control groups.RESULTS： The average CA 19-9 level was 46.0 ± 22.4 U/mL for diabetic patients whereas it was 9.97± 7.1 U/mL for the control group （P 〈 0.001 ）. Regression analysis showed a positive correlation between diabetes and CA 19-9 independent from age, gender, glucose level and HbAlc level （t = 8.8, P 〈 001 ）. Two of the diabetic patients were excluded from the study because of abdominal malignancy shown by CT at the initial evaluation. For all patients, abdominal CT showed no pancreatic abnormalities. CONCLUSION： CA 19-9 is a tumor-associated antigen, which is elevated in pancreatic, upper gastrointestinal tract, ovarian hepatocellular, and colorectal cancers, as well as in inflammatory conditions of the hepatobiliary system, biliary obstruction and in thyroid diseases. Diabetes has been claimed to be a risk factor for pancreatic cancer, which is increasing its incidence and has one of the lowest survival rates of all cancers. CA 19-9 is used in the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer but is also a marker of pancreatic tissue damage that might be caused by diabetes. We propose that a higher cutoff value of CA 19-9 should be used in diabetics to differentiate benign and malignant pancreatic disease, and subtle elevations of CA 19-9 in diabetics should be considered as the indication of exocrine pancreatic dysfunction.
