Precise taxonomy and the chronostratigraphic calibration of the middle Eocene Alveolina from Central iran is here undertaken from the Chah-Talkh section of the southern Sabzevar region(Central iran). We have identified Alveolina kieli, Alveolina stercusmuris and Alveolina nuttalli along with the new species Alveolina ozcani n. sp. that we include into the Alveolina elliptica group. We have also found Nummulites uroniensis, Nummulites obesus and Nummulites cf. verneuili and associated calcareous nannofossils that look reliable to make thoughtful correlations with the Shallow Benthic Zones(SBZ). The foraminiferal biostratigraphy suggests an assignment to the upper part of the lower Lutetian-lower part of the middle Lutetian,SBZ13(middle Eocene), further strengthened through the identification of the calcareous nannofossil NP14b-NP15b or CNE8-CNE10 biozones, providing a solid correlation with the global stratigraphic standards.

Objective:To explore the meaning of care experienced by people with blindness in ***:interpretive phenomenology along with the 6-step method of van Manen was used to conduct the *** purposeful sampling,15 people with legal blindness were *** analysis was used to isolate the meaning of ***:Five themes emerged:(a)nurses in the eyes of patients with blindness;(b)negligence in the caring moments;(c)being cared for in ambiguity;(d)Uncoordinated care;and(e)Psychological discomfor *** sub-themes were condensed into an overarching theme titled as“marginalized patients inside the stereotypical healthcare system.”Conclusions:Lived experiences of patients with blindness revealed that hospitals provide stereotypic or inappropriate care for this minority group in *** professionals par ticularly nurses should be skilled to provide person-centered and coordinated care for patients with blindness.

To design a propeller for ship power plant,the interaction between ship hull and propeller must be taken into *** main concern is to apply the wake effect of ship stern on the propeller *** this paper,a coupled BEM(Boundary Element Method)/RANS(Renolds-Averaged Navier−Stokes)solver is used to simulate propeller behind the hull in the self-propulsion *** motivation of this work is to develop a practical tool to design marine propulsion system without suffering long computational *** unsteady boundary element method which is also known as panel method is chosen to estimate the propeller *** wakes are treated using a time marching wake alignment ***,a RANS code coupled with VoF equation is developed to consider the ship motions and wake field effects in the problem.A coupling algorithm is developed to interchange ship wake field to the potential flow solver and propeller thrust to the RANS *** on the difference between hull resistance and the propeller thrust,a Pi controller is developed to compute the propeller RPM in every time *** of the solver is carried out using the towing tank test report of a 50 m oceanography research *** factor and trust deduction coefficient are estimated ***,the wake rollup pattern of the propeller in open water is compared with the propeller in real wake field.

AiM:To investigate the effect of using base-out prisms on nystagmus,visual acuity and contrast sensitivity in patients with ***:in this interventional study,patients with albinism who had nystagmus were enrolled.A comprehensive eye exam was conducted,which included refraction,assessment of far and near vision acuity,and contrast sensitivity *** check for the nystagmus,a videonystagmography was *** tests were carried out in three modes:without any correction,with optical correction,and with correction using base-out prisms in three different powers,including 4,6,and 8 prism ***:Totally 23 patients with average age of 28.65±12.13 were *** was found that the use of optical correction and optical correction with prisms resulted in a statistically significant improvement in both far(at least:Pisual acuity(at least:Pism 8;Pin addition,contrast sensitivity significantly improved at all low and medium frequencies except for correction with prism 8 in frequency 1.5(at least:Pism 4,frequency 6;P=0.04).no significant improvement was observed in the evaluation of nystagmus ***:Optical correction with a prism can improve visual acuity and some spatial frequencies,but failed to improve nystagmus parameters.

目的:探讨配戴角巩膜接触镜对圆锥角膜患者视力和角膜参数的影响。方法:前瞻性研究。共纳入43例(83眼)圆锥角膜患者。配戴角巩膜接触镜,并分别在戴镜前、戴镜3、6 mo后行裂隙灯检查、客观验光和主观验光、裸眼视力(UCVA)和最佳矫正视力(BCVA)、角膜曲率(Kmax、K1和K2)、中央角膜厚度和内皮细胞计数检查。结果:配戴6 mo框架眼镜后平均BCVA(LogMAR)为0.34±0.23,角巩膜接触镜为0.03±0.05(P<0.001)。戴镜6 mo后,Kmax由52.80±5.93 D变为51.51±5.64 D(P<0.001),角膜中央厚度由483.84±34.69μm变为476.28±35.38μm(P<0.001),角膜中央细胞计数由2559.18±275.7 cells/mm^(2)变为2572.73±274.3 cells/mm^(2)(P<0.001)。结论:临床中角膜参数未发生明显变化,角巩膜镜可显著提高视力,且可安全用于圆锥角膜患者。

in this paper,a half-plane time-domain boundary element method is applied to obtain the seismic ground response,including a subsurface box-shaped lined tunnel deployed in a linear homogenous elastic medium exposed to obliquely incident *** the boundary around the tunnel is required to be *** prepare an appropriate model by quadratic elements,a double-node procedure is used to receive dual boundary fields at corners as well as change the direction of the normal *** encoding the method in a previously confirmed computer program,a numerical study is carried out to sensitize some effective parameters,including frequency content and incident wave angle for obtaining a surface *** depth and impedance ratio of the lining are assumed to be *** responses are illustrated in the time and frequency domains as two/three-dimensional *** results showed that subsurface openings with sharp corners distorted the propagation path of the anti-plane waves to achieve the critical states on the ground *** present approach can be proposed to civil engineers for preparing simple underground box-shaped models with angular boundaries.

Effect of soil pore size distribution on plant-available water and least limiting water range as soil physical quality indicators

Soil pore size distribution(SPSD) is one of the most important soil physical properties. This research investigated the relationships of location and shape parameters of the SPSD curves with plant-available water(PAW) and least limiting water range(LLWR) of the light-textured soils at the Torogh Agricultural Research Station in north-eastern iran. Soil moisture release curve(SMRC), PAW and LLWR in matric heads of 100 and 330 h Pa for the field capacity and location and shape parameters of the SPSD curves of 30 soils with different texture and organic carbon contents were determined, and the variable relationships were statistically analyzed. The results showed that the median equivalent pore diameter(de), mean de, standard deviation(SD*), and skewness of the SPSD curves were significantly correlated with PAW(PAW330) and LLWR(LLWR330) measured in a matric head of 330 h Pa. Decrease in deand increase in the diversity of soil pore size(SD*) increased PAW330 and LLWR330. The SD* values of all the soil samples were lower than the optimal ranges suggested in literature. Neither PAW nor LLWR values were significantly different in the soils with the optimal modal deand those with non-optimal modal de. Optimal values of median and mean equivalent pore diameters and kurtosis of SPSD curves led to a significant improvement of PAW330 and LLWR330 as soil physical quality indicators. it was recommended to revise the optimal ranges for SD* and modal defor future studies.

The present study was conducted to investigate the effect of gamma irradiation on white spot syndrome virus （WS SV）. White spot syndrome virus is a pathogen of major economic importance in cultured penaeid shrimp industries. White spot disease can cause mortalities reaching 100% within 3-10 days of gross signs appearing. During the period of culture, immunostimulant agents and vaccines may provide potential methods to protect shrimps from opportunistic and pathogenic microrganisms. in this study, firstly, WSSV was isolated from infected shrimp and then multiplied in crayfish. WSSV was purified from the infected crayfish haemolymph by sucrose gradient and confirmed by transmission electron microscopy. in vivo virus titration was performed in shrimp, Penaeus semisulcatus. The LD50 of live virus stock was calculated 1054/mL. Shrimp post-larvae （1-2 g） were treated with gamma-irradiated （different doses） WSSV （10^o to 10^-4 dilutions） for a period of 10 days. The dose/survival curve for irradiated and un-irradiated WSSV was drawn; the optimum dose range for inactivation of WSSV and unaltered antigenicity was obtained 14- 15 kGy. This preliminary information suggests that shrimp appear to benefit from treatment with gamma- irradiated WSSV especially at 14-15 KGy.
