Spatial Variability and Radiative Impact of Aerosol along the Brahmaputra River Valley in India: Results from a Campaign

The first ever land campaign to study the spatial variability of the aerosol characteristics along the Brahmaputra river valley (BRV) in Assam, North-Eastern India, was conducted during 2011. Measurements were made over 13 locations for Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD), scattering coefficient, particulate matter, black carbon (BC) concentration and meteorological parameters. The BRV is divided into three sectors longitudinally viz western sector (WS), central sector (CS), and eastern sector (ES). Significant Spatial heterogeneity in AOD and BC concentration was observed (p < 0.05) with the highest values over WS and a continual decrease from WS to ES with aerosol dominance in PM2.5 category along the entire valley. The Angstrom coefficient measured using different wavelength pairs showed spatial variability indicating dominance of fine particles over WS and coarse particles in ES with a probable bimodal distribution. The scattering and absorption coefficient shows dominance of both types of aerosol over WS than other areas. The shortwave radiative forcing was higher over the WS than CS and ES of the valley. The campaign revealed that under favorable wind conditions, the BRV is loaded with significant amount of natural and anthropogenic aerosol during local winter and is influenced by the long-range transport of aerosols from the Indo-Gangetic plain.

Considering the escalating frequency and sophistication of cyber threats targeting web applications, this paper proposes the development of an automated web security analysis tool to address the accessibility gap for non-security professionals. This paper presents the design and implementation of an automated web security analysis tool, AWSAT, aimed at enabling individuals with limited security expertise to effectively assess and mitigate vulnerabilities in web applications. Leveraging advanced scanning techniques, the tool identifies common threats such as Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), SQL Injection, and Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF), providing detailed reports with actionable insights. By integrating sample payloads and reference study links, the tool facilitates informed decision-making in enhancing the security posture of web applications. Through its user-friendly interface and robust functionality, the tool aims to democratize web security practices, empowering a wider audience to proactively safeguard against cyber threats.

Deep Learning is one of the most popular computer science techniques,with applications in natural language processing,image processing,pattern iden-tification,and various *** the success of these deep learning algorithms in multiple scenarios,such as spam detection,malware detection,object detection and tracking,face recognition,and automatic driving,these algo-rithms and their associated training data are rather vulnerable to numerous security *** threats ultimately result in significant performance ***,the supervised based learning models are affected by manipulated data known as adversarial examples,which are images with a particular level of noise that is invisible to *** inputs are introduced to purposefully confuse a neural network,restricting its use in sensitive application areas such as bio-metrics *** this paper,an optimized defending approach is proposed to recognize the adversarial iris examples *** Curvelet Transform Denoising method is used in this defense strategy,which examines every sub-band of the adversarial images and reproduces the image that has been changed by the *** salient iris features are retrieved from the reconstructed iris image by using a pretrained Convolutional Neural Network model(VGG 16)followed by Multiclass *** classification is performed by using Support Vector Machine(SVM)which uses Particle Swarm Optimization method(PSO-SVM).The proposed system is tested when classifying the adversarial iris images affected by various adversarial attacks such as FGSM,iGSM,and Deep-fool *** experimental result on benchmark iris dataset,namely IITD,produces excellent outcomes with the highest accuracy of 95.8%on average.

Worldwide,many elders are suffering from Alzheimer’s disease(AD).The elders with AD exhibit various abnormalities in their activities,such as sleep disturbances,wandering aimlessly,forgetting activities,etc.,which are the strong signs and symptoms of AD *** these symptoms in advance could assist to a quicker diagnosis and treatment and to prevent the progression of Disease to the next *** proposed method aims to detect the behavioral abnormalities found in Daily activities of AD patients(ADP)using *** the proposed work,a publicly available dataset collected using wearables is ***,no real-world data is available to illustrate the daily activities of ***,the proposed method has synthesized the wearables data according to the abnormal activities of *** the proposed work,multi-headed(MH)architectures such as MH Convolutional Neural Network-Long Short-Term Mem-ory Network(CNN-LSTM),MH one-dimensional Convolutional Neural Network(1D-CNN)and MH two dimensional Convolutional Neural Network(2D-CNN)as well as conventional methods,namely CNN-LSTM,1D-CNN,2D-CNN have been implemented to model activity pattern.A multi-label prediction technique is applied to detect abnormal *** results obtained show that the proposed MH architectures achieve improved performance than the conventional ***,the MH models for activity recognition perform better than the abnormality detection.
