In this case study we explore Cicero’s processes of framing and image-building regarding the concept of an anti-mother/-*** this we examine Cicero’s portrayal of Sassia,a woman who features as one of the main antagonists of his speech Pro *** analyse Cicero’s depiction of Sassia’s evilness towards her son,Cluentius,through the lens of frame and framing *** doing so,this case study aims to present a deeper understanding of Cicero’s stratagems(e.g.,priming,calling for action;nudging,pushing someone towards action;and affordance,offering a frame to act outside of or within)which were employed in order to devise a negative characterisation of *** application of this methodological approach to Cicero’s framing of Sassia provides a new scope for analysing not only the classical text itself but also for the analysis of ancient human society to which it belonged.

The HIPERC study was a European research project involving several steel companies and research organisations which examined the effects of alloying elements and processing conditions in low carbon (<0.09 wt %),niobium containing (0.05%-0.12 wt.%) ***-scale heats and pilot rolling trials simulating air and water-cooled plate production as well as hot-rolled strip production were made and the effects of C,Mn,Ni,Cu,Cr,Mo,Nb,Ti and B on transformation characteristics and temperatures of recrystallisation *** equations for the characterisation of microstructure,tensile and impact properties and for the weldability of these steels were *** were manufactured and processed into plate and coil-plate by three steel companies and pipe produced from both *** from these,plus thicker plate for structural use,were determined and these compared well with the values predicted from the regression *** project has shown that excellent combinations of strength,toughness and weldability can be obtained for a wide variety of *** benefits were seen and recommendations on altering the limits for niobium in Euronorms have been proposed.

Does disruptive camouflage conceal edges and features？

Camouflage is ubiquitous in the natural world and benefits both predators and prey. Amongst the range of conceal- ment strategies, disruptive coloration is thought to visually fragment an animal＇s＇ outline, thereby reducing its rate of discovery. Here, I propose two non-mutually exclusive hypotheses for how disruptive camouflage functions, and describe the visual me- chanisms that might underlie them. （1） The local edge disruption hypothesis states that camouflage is achieved by breaking up edge information. （2） The global feature disruption hypothesis states camouflage is achieved by breaking up the characteristic features of an animal （e.g., overall shape or facial features）. Research clearly shows that putatively disruptive edge markings do increase concealment; however, few tests have been undertaken to determine whether this survival advantage is attributable to the distortion of features, so the global feature disruption hypothesis is under studied. In this review the evidence for global feature disruption is evaluated. Further, I address if object recognition processing provides a feasible mechanism for animals＇ features to influence concealment. This review concludes that additional studies are needed to test if disruptive camouflage operates through the global feature disruption and proposes future research directions [Current Zoology 61 （4）： 708-717, 2015].

Yield stress development of cement paste is potentially governed by percolation of 3-dimensional links formed by hydration products on the surface of the particles. It rises steadily at a gradual rate before a sudden increase in rate of growth. In this study, a method was proposed to predict the yield stress development based on the diameter of spread（D） of mini slump cone test and gradient from electrical resistivity measurement（Km）. To evaluate the significance of（D） and（Km） in terms of yield stress, they were quantitatively compared to the initial yield stress（τ0） and rate of yield stress growth（K） obtained from a rheometer. A mathematical relationship between the yield stress of cement paste, diameter of spread and electrical resistivity characteristic gradient was developed. The equation developed can be used as an alternative method to estimate yield stress of cement paste.

During warm events in the Pacific Ocean when the Southern Oscillation Index is negative almost all of the variance resides in the gravest mode which undergoes a 40° eastward phase shift. Meanwhile the second logitudinal mode almost disappears. On the other hand the meridional wind field possesses maximum amplitude at higher wave numbers. However near the equatorthe amplitude is small with extreme values occurring in the subtropics. The difference in scale and the location of cxtrcma of the meridional and zonal wind components indicate that the tropical atmosphere is responding to two different driving mechanisms.Correlation analyses between variations of the zonal wind at reference points along the equator with variations of component elsewhere show that there are strong logitudinal connections. The strongest correlations between the tropics and higher latitudes exist in the region of the equatorial westerlies. In fact stronger correlations occur between variations in U anywhere along the equator and the middle latitudes to the north and south of the equatorial westerlies than to the latitudes immediately to the north and south of the reference points. We interpret this "remote" correlation pattern as indicating a two-stage teleconnection process which emphasizes the importance of the equatorial tropical westerlies of the Pacific Ocean as a "corridor" of communication between the low and high latitudes. The regionality of the correlations confirms to some extent recent theoretical development regarding trapped equatorial modes. Finally

Current practice for intraocular lens （IOL） exchange is to cut the optic of the posterior chamber intraocular lens （PCIOL） prior to removing it. Great care must be taken during this maneuver to avoid a posterior capsular tear. Removing the haptics from the fibrosed capsule can also be hazardous, as it may result in zonular stress and dehiscence. A technique is described for performing foldable （one-piece acrylic） IOL removal without cutting the optic. Careful visco-dissection of the haptics with a low viscosity ophthalmic viscosurgical device （OVD） in the fibrosed peripheral capsular tunnel avoids zonular or capsular stress. Internal wound enlargement permits foldable IOL removal in one piece, whilst preserving a self-sealing sutureless corneal wound. This technique may enhance the safety and efficacy of foldable IOL exchange.
