Development of marine gas hydrate resources presents a huge challenge to the energy industry owing to the well production complications such as wellbore collapse,sand production,and low *** lateral wells(RLW)and horizontal snake wells(HSW)have been proposed separately to mitigate these *** compare the productivity potentials of these two types of wells using the recently developed analytical models and field case data from a gas hydrate reservoir in the South China *** is concluded that RLW will yield slightly higher gas productivity than HSW under similar con*** analysis with the well models indicates that the productivity of RLW is directly proportional to the number of laterals,length of laterals,and radius of laterals,while the productivity of HSW is directly proportional to the length and radius of the horizontal *** decision of using RLW or HSW can be made based on economic analysis of well completion and production,which should be addressed in future studies.

Synthesizing polyol-based ester from biomass feedstocks for the preparation of biolubricant overcomes the dependence on petroleum oil *** biomass-derived bio-oil is an alternative for the production of polyol ester,upgrading is essential prior to use as *** acid(la),obtained from bio-oil was applied for the catalytic esterification with two polyols,e.g.,trimethylolpropane(TMP)and pentaerythritol(PE),in the presence of mixed-ligand Ni(Ⅱ),Co(Ⅱ),and Fe(Ⅱ)complexes as *** mixed-ligand coordination complexes with empirical formula;[Ni(Phe)(Bpy)Cl].H2O,[Co(Phe)(Bpy)Cl].H2O,and[Fe(Phe)(Tyr)Cl].H2O were synthesized by the reaction of ligands[L-phenylalanine(Phe),4,4'-bipyridine(Bpy),and L-tyrosine(Tyr)]with metal chloride salts and characterized by elemental analysis,magnetic susceptibility,FTiR,TGA/DTA,powder-XRD,and SEM *** study aims to investigate the catalytic activities of the complexes via esterification reaction of levulinic acid with trimethylolpropane and *** addition,these catalysts were further employed for the in situ hydrogenation of levulinate esters via NaBH_(4) at room temperature upon ***,the iron(Ⅱ)complex was more potential,exhibiting its efficiency as a homogeneous catalyst for esterification-hydrogenation reaction for synthesizing ester-based oils.

This study considered the design of an efficient, high brightness polar inGaN/GaN light emitting diode （LED） structure with A1GaN capping layer for green light emission. The deposition of high in （〉 15%） composition within inGaN quantum well （QW） has limitations when providing intense green light. To design an effective model for a highly efficient inGaN green LEDs, this study considered the compositions of indium and aluminum for inxGal xN QW and AlyGal yN cap layers, along with different layer thicknesses of well, barrier and cap. These structural properties significantly affect different properties. For example, these properties affect electric fields of layers, polarization, overall elastic stress energy and lattice parameter of the structure, emission wavelength, and intensity of the emitted light. Three models with different composition and layer thicknesses are simulated and analyzed to obtain green light with in-plane equilibrium lattice parameter close to GaN （3.189 A ） with the highest osci.la.or strength values. A structure model is obtained with an osci.la.or strength value of 1.18 × 10-1 and least in-plane equilibrium lattice constant of 3.218 A. This emitter can emit at a wavelength of 540 nm, which is the expected design for the fabrication of highly efficient, bright green LEDs.

Power systems around the world have been registering a degenerating inertial response in view of the growth of inverter-based resources along with the withdrawal of conventional coal ***,there is a need for swift frequency support and its control,preferably by means of power electronic-interfaced storage devices,owing to their beneficial *** being particularly efficient,pragmatically,the traditional model-based non-linear control techniques are not highly popular in power system control design,primarily due to the complications faced in obtaining accurately suitable models for certain power system ***,the modelfree Koopman operator-based model predictive control(KMPC)has proven to be highly conducive for data-driven non-linear control *** principle behind KMPC is to change the coordinates in a manner to get an approximately linear model,which can then be controlled using a linear model predictive *** this study,we employed time-delayed embedding of measurements to reconstruct a new set of preferable coordinates,thereby suggesting an approach for finding the optimal number of time lags and the embedding dimensions which are the key parameters of this *** efficacy of this KMPC framework is established by adopting a decentralized frequency control problem through a decoupled synchronous machine system,which we proposed for both the Kundur two-area system as well as the iEEE 39-bus test system.

Neutrophils are the first cell type to arrive at the in-jury sites and play a critical role in host defense, by virtueof its ability to adhere and transmigrate through endothe-lium, to phagocytose foreign pathogens, and to producefree oxygen radicals and proteolytic enzymes. Yet, inap-propriate neutrophil activation causes tissue damage andvarious inflammatory diseases. These physiological andpathological functions of neutrophils depend on the en-gagement of certain surface receptors, especially αMβ2,the ma jor β2 integrin receptor present on neutrophil sur-face. Understanding of the molecular mechanisms under-lying ligand binding by αMβ2, as well as the roles of αMβ2-ligand interactions in neutrophil functions will enable usto regulate more precisely neutrophil activities: that is,to promote their host defense functions, and at the sametime to minimize their deleterious effects on normal cells.

Standard treatment for advanced Prostate Cancer(PCa)consists of androgen deprivation therapy(ADT),but ultimately fails,resulting in the incurable phase of the disease:metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer(mCRPC).Targeting PCa cells before their progression to mCRPC would greatly improve the outcome,if strategies could be devised selectively targeting androgen receptor(AR)-dependent and/or independent compensatory pathways which promote mCRPC *** therapy by targeting the DNA damage response(DDR)along with ADT has been limited by general toxicity,and a goal of clinical trials is how to target the DDR more *** recent years,our lab has identified a key role for the DDR kinase,TLK1,in mediating key aspects of adaptation to ADT,first by promoting a cell cycle arrest(through the TLK1>NEK1>ATR>Chk1 kinase cascade)under the unfavorable growth conditions(androgen deprivation),and then by reprogramming the PCa cells to adapt to androgen-independent growth via the NEK1>YAP/AR>CRPC *** addition,TLK1 plays a key anti-apoptotic role via the NEK1>VDAC1 regulation on the intrinsic mitochondrial apoptotic pathway when the DDR is ***,TLK1 was recently identified as having an important role in motility and metastasis via regulation of the kinases MK5/PRAK and AKT(indirectly via AKTiP).
