The exchange of correct and reliable data among legitimate nodes is one of the most important challenges in vehicular ad hoc networks(VANETs). Malicious nodes and obstacles, by generating inaccurate information, have a negative impact on the security of 5G-VANET. The big data generated in the vehicular network is also an issue in the security of VANET. To this end, a security model based on authentication and plausibility is proposed to improve the safety of network named ‘AFPM’. In the first layer, an authentication mechanism using edge nodes along with 5G is proposed to deal with the illegitimate nodes who enter the network and broadcast wrong information. In the authentication mechanism, because of the growth of the connected vehicles to the edge nodes that lead to generating big data and hence the inappropriateness of the traditional data structures, cuckoo filter, as a space-efficient probabilistic data structure, is used. In the second layer, a plausibility model by performing fuzzy logic is presented to cope with inaccurate information. The plausibility model is based on detection of inconsistent data involved in the event message. The plausibility model not only tackles with inaccurate, incomplete, and inaccuracy data but also deals with misbehaviour nodes under both line-of-sight(LOS) and non-line-of-sight(NLOS) conditions. All obtained results are validated through well-known evaluation measures such as F-measure and communication overhead. The results presented in this paper demonstrate that the proposed security model possesses a better performance in comparison with the existing studies.

Adsorption capacity of activated carbon prepared from spent tea leaves （STL-AC） for the removal of aspirin from aqueous solution was investigated in this study. Preliminary studies have shown that treatment with phosphoric acid （H3PO4） increased removal efficiency of STL-AC. Characterizations on STL-AC revealed excellent textural properties （1200 m2.g-1, 51% mesoporosity）, as well as distinctive surface chemistry （1.08 mmol.g-1 and 0.54 mmol.g-1 for acidic and basic oxygenated groups, pHpzc = 2.02）. Maximum removal efficiency of aspirin observed was 94.28% after 60 rain when the initial concentration was 100 mg.L-1, 0.5 g of adsorbent used, pH 3 and at a temperature of 30 ℃. The adsorption data were well fitted to the Freundlich isotherm model and obeyed the pseudo-second order kinetics model. The adsorption of aspirin onto STL-AC was exothermic in nature （△H = - 13.808 ***-1） and had a negative entropy change, △S （-41.444 ***-1）. A negative Gibbs free energy, △G was obtained indicating feasibility and spontaneity of the adsorption process. The adsorp- tion capacity of △C-STL （178.57 mg.g-1） is considerably high compared to most adsorbents synthesized from various sources, due to the well-defined textural properties coupled with surface chemistry of STL-AC which fa- vors aspirin adsorption. The results demonstrate the potential of STL-AC as aspirin adsorbent.

Background:Habitat degradation is known to have a major impact on the composition of bird communities,yet how these communities recover following such disturbance is less *** study examined bird community changes from pre-logging to recovery over the course of habitat disturbance caused by the development of the Hulu Terengganu Hydroelectric Dam Project in Peninsular Malaysia,between 2007 and *** surveys were conducted using point count observations and mist netting in the dam area from the prelogging phase until the operation ***:It was observed that while bird species significantly declined after large-scale habitat clearance between the pre-logging and construction phases,they showed positive signs of recovery from the inundation to operation *** findings indicate that the bird community is still recovering,and the permanent loss of habitat required by most of the original species has not occurred,as evidenced by *** species composition differed across phases due to varying habitat *** turnover rate and immigration rate(recolonisation and newly recorded species)were higher between the construction and operation *** was also observed that insectivorous birds were more heavily affected than others by changes to the landscape,which highlights the versatility,survivability and tolerance of certain species to extreme disturbance and habitat ***:Although the operation phase showed an incremental change in bird species richness due to recolonisation and newly recorded species,this value remains far from that of the pre-logging *** predict that bird species recovery will continue to increase for some time before reaching a plateau among the newly created islands,reservoir and catchment area of the dam.

Adsorption is an important process in wastewater treatment,and conversion of waste materials to adsorbent offers a solution to high material cost related to the use of commercial activated *** study investigated the adsorption behaviour of Reactive Black 5（RB5）and methylene blue（MB）onto activated carbon produced from textile sludge（TSAC）.The activated carbon was synthesized through chemical activation of precursor followed with carbonization at 650℃ under nitrogen *** of time（0–200 min）,pH（2–10）,temperature（25–60℃）,initial dye concentration（0–200 mg·L^-1）,and adsorbent dosage（0.01–0.15 g）on dye removal efficiency were *** screening revealed that TSAC synthesized via H2SO4activation showed higher adsorption behaviour than TSAC activated by KCl and *** adsorption capacity of TSAC was found to be 11.98 mg·g^-1（RB5）and 13.27 mg·g^-1（MB）,and is dependent on adsorption time and initial dye *** adsorption data for both dyes were well fitted to Freundlich isotherm model which explains the heterogeneous nature of TSAC *** dye adsorption obeyed pseudo-second order kinetic model,thus chemisorption was the controlling *** study reveals potential of textile sludge in removal of dyes from aqueous solution,and further studies are required to establish the applicability of the synthesized adsorbent for the treatment of waste water containing toxic dyes from textile industry.

The relationship between moisture loss and oil uptake at different combination of Frying Oil Temperatures (FOT) and time during deep-fat frying of chicken meat was investigated in this study. Chicken meat samples were diced and fried at different FOT (170°C, 180°C, and 190°C) in an industrial fryer for periods varying from 5 to 900 s. Fat analysis was accomplished in a soxhlet extraction apparatus with petroleum ether solvent. Prior to fat analysis samples were freeze dried and the moisture analysis was based on the standard AOAC standard method. The results show that a cook value of 415 s was found to give the most ideal sensory characteristics. The relationship between moisture loss and oil uptake during the initial phase of frying (°C and 190°C, respectively, and the rate (1.35 g/s) at FOT 170°C was significantly (P < 0.05) lower.

The effects of frying oil temperature (FOT) and time on densities and shrinkage in chicken breast meat during deep-fat frying were investigated. De-boned Chicken breast samples were diced and fried at different FOT (170℃, 180℃, and 190℃) in an industrial fryer for periods varying from 5 to 900 s. Bulk and apparent densities were determined with a fluid displacement pycnometer, and fat analysis was conducted using soxhlet extraction with petroleum ether solvent. The physical structure of chicken meat changed significantly with the frying time and FOT (P 3 in the raw product and decreased to 0.98, 0.95, and 0.93 g/cm3 after 900 s of deep-frying at 170℃, 180℃ and 190℃, respectively. Similarly, apparent density changed from 1.13 to 1.25, 1.24 and 1.22 g/cm3 and moisture loss was linearly correlated with both densities. Volumetric shrinkage was significantly (P < 0.05) affected by the process variables and hence a linear correlation also existed with moisture loss. The rates of shrinkage were 0.013, 0.001, and 0.008/s and occurred rapidly during the first 90s of FOT (170℃, 180℃, and 190℃), respectively and decreased as frying time increased.

为探讨基于高光谱图像技术对雪花梨品质进行无损检测的可行性,研究了利用高光谱图像系统提取雪花梨中糖和水的光谱响应和形态特征参数,获取样品含糖量和含水率的敏感水分吸收光谱带,利用人工神经网络建立雪花梨含糖量和含水率预测模型及利用投影图像面积预测雪花梨鲜重。结果表明,基于高光谱图像技术对雪花梨品质进行无损检测是可行的。雪花梨含糖量预测值和实际值间相关系数R为0.996,误差平均值为0.5°Brix;含水率预测值和实际值间相关系数R为0.94,相对误差平均值为0.62%;鲜重预测值和实际值间相关系数R为0.93。

Effect of Ripening Stages on Basic Deep-Fat Frying Qualities of Plantain Chips

Plantains （Musa paradisiaca L.） are a major food staple in West Africa and are cooked in various forms. The objective of this work was to evaluate the frying characteristics of plantains at different stages of ripening. The plantains used in the study were at the unripe stage through four different ripening stages. The samples were peeled and sliced into 2 mm thickness and blanched in hot water at 70 ℃ for 3 min. The slices were then deep flied in canola oil at 180 ℃. The result showed that ripening stage significantly affected moisture loss and fat absorption profiles of the plantain chips. Fully ripened plantain absorbed up to 34% （db） oil during 4 min frying, much higher than unripe plantain. The oil uptake and moisture loss during frying of the plantain chip samples were modelled using 1st order kinetics. The kinetic parameters including rates of moisture loss and oil uptake varied according to the different stages of ripening. Ripening had a significant effect on the colour lightness （L） of the chips. Similarly, the redness （a）, the yellowness （b） and textural characteristics were significantly affected by ripening stage.

Biodiesel is a clean and renewable resource that consists of mono-alkyl esters of long chain fatty acid, which could be obtained from the transesterification reaction of vegetable oils and animal fats with alcohols and catalysts. Biodiesel yield has typically been determined using expensive and laborious techniques. The attempt of this study was to examine the potential of quantifying the biodiesel conversion in real time using refractive index in transesterification process of canola oil with methanol and KOH. Biodiesel yields at five different mixing intensities and reaction times were measured using a refractometer. The measured results were then compared with analytical data obtained from thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) technique over a temperature range of 25℃ - 600℃. Experimental results indicated that the FAME conversions at different mixing intensity and reaction time measured from refractometer correlated well to the relative weight losses from TGA method with R2 = 0.93 (p ≤ 0.05);however, the refractometer may over-estimate the biodiesel yield when the reaction rate was too low. Overall, the refractometer technique is cheaper and easier to manage and could provide a reliable prediction of biodiesel yield in real time.
