One of the most important aspects of Bangladesh’s textile industry is denim. Bangladesh now has a new opportunity thanks to the global demand for denim among fashion industry professionals. Entrepreneurs from Bangladesh provide denim products to well-known international merchants all over the world. The worldwide denim market is predicted to expand by roughly 8% through the year 2020. We must raise the standard of denim if we are to keep up with the expanding industry. In contrast to projectile and rapier systems, air-jet weaving machines nowadays can weave practically all types of yarns without any issues and at higher rates. Due to this, air-jet looms are an excellent substitute for other weft insertion techniques. This kind of device still has one significant flaw, though, and that is the enormous power consumption brought on by the creation of compressed air. Researchers and manufacturers of air-jet looms have therefore worked very hard to find a solution to this issue and achieve a huge reduction in air consumption without compromising loom performance or fabric quality. Therefore, the purpose of this project is to look into ways to decrease air consumption and reduce auxiliary selvedge waste without any decrease in loom performance and fabric quality on existing air-jet weaving looms which reduce the manufacturing costs with process improvement. Just updating the air pressure allowed a weaving mill to reduce air usage by 11 cfm. So, with just almost no cost, a company with 100 looms could save $0.15 M each year, on compressed air. Two new methods for decreasing process costs on air jet looms have also been developed by this project work.

The single-walled carbon nanotube （SWCNT） is a promising nanostructure in the design of future high- frequency system-on-chip, especially in network-on-chip, where the quality of communication between intellectual property （IP） modules is a major concern. Shrinking dimensions of circuits and systems have restricted the use of high-frequency signal characteristics for frequencies up to 1000 GHz. Four key electrical parameters, impedance, propagation constant, current density, and signal delay time, which are crucial in the design of a high-quality interconnect, are derived for different structural configurations of SWCNT. Each of these parameters exhibits strong dependence on the frequency range over which the interconnect is designed to operate, as well as on the configuration of SWCNT. The novelty of the proposed model for solving next-generation high-speed integrated circuit （IC） interconnect challenges is illustrated, compared with existing theoretical and experimental results in the literature.

Performance Analysis of Optical Wireless Communication System Employing Neuro-Fuzzy Based Spot-Diffusing Techniques

The spot-diffusing technique provides better performance compared to conventional diffuse system for indoor optical-wireless communication (OWC) system. In this paper, the performance of an OW spot-diffusing communication system using Neuro-Fuzzy (NF) adaptive multi-beam transmitter configuration has been proposed. The multi-beam transmitter generates multiple spots pointed in different directions, hence, forming a matrix of diffusing spots based on position of the receiver and receiver mobility. Regardless of the position of the transmitter and receiver, NF controller target the spots adaptively at the best locations and allocates optimal power to the spots and beam angle are adapted in order to achieve better signal-to-noise plus interference ratio (SNIR). Maximum ratio combining (MRC) is used in the imaging receiver. The proposed OW spot-diffusing communication system is compared with other spot-beam diffusion methods proposed in literature. Performance evaluation revels that the proposed NF based OW spot-diffusing communication system outperforms other spot-beam diffusion methods.

Background: Depression is a common and serious medical illness around the world. It occurs more frequently in patients with chronic illness than in the general population. It is a common psychiatric problem in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Objective: To assess the level of depression in pre-dialytic CKD patients attending at a tertiary care hospital in Bangladesh. Methodology: This cross sectional study was conducted at Department of Nephrology, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Dhaka, Bangladesh from January 2020 to June 2020. A total of 100 pre-dialytic CKD patients were selected by convenience sampling technique and their level of depression was assessed by Zung Self-Rating Depression Scale (ZSDS). Data were collected by existing questionnaire with face to face interview and analyzed by statistical test. Results: The mean age of the participants was 49.70 ± 11.80 years. Among them 64% were male, 95% were muslim, 98% were married, 65% were completed secondary/above higher secondary level education, 65% were unemployed and 55% were lived in urban area. It was observed that 65% participants were economically dependent to their family, only 6% were engaged in regular exercise, 14% had family history of depression, 8% were smoker and 12% were alcohol/drug abuser. According to the Zung Self-Rating Depression Scale (ZSDS) we found 29% participants were mildly depressed, 39% participants were moderately depressed and 18% participants were severely depressed. Prevalence of depression was 86% in pre-dialytic CKD patients. Of them, 7% was in CKD stage-I, 17.4% was in CKD stage-II, 19.8% was in CKD stage-III, 22.1% was in CKD stage-IV and 33.7% was in CKD stage-V. Conclusion: Depression is highly prevalent in pre-dialytic CKD patients and more frequent in the advanced stages of CKD.

Anti-bacterial activity and brine shrimp lethality bioassay of methanolic extracts of fourteen different edible vegetables from Bangladesh

Objective:To investigate the antibacterial and cytotoxic activity of fourteen different edible vegetables methanolic extract from ***:The antibacterial activity was evaluated using disc diffusion assay method against 12 bacteria(both gram positive and gram negative).The plant extracts were also screened for cytotoxic activity using the brine shrimp lethality bioassay method and the lethal concentrations(LC_(50))were determined at confidence intervals by analyzing the data on a computer loaded with"Finney Programme??Results:All the vegetable extracts showed low to elevated levels of antibacterial activity against most of the tested strains(zone of inhibition=5-28 mm).The most active extract against all bacterial strains was from Xanthium indicum which showed remarkable antibacterial activity having the diameter of growth inhibition zone ranging from 12 to 28 mm followed by Alternanthera sessilis(zone of inhibition=6-21 mm).All extracts exhibited considerable general toxicity towards brine *** LC_(50)value of the tested extracts was within the range of 8.447 to 60.323μg/mL with respect to the positive control(vincristine sulphate)which was 0.91μg/*** all studied extracts,Xanthium indicum displayed the highest cytotoxic effect with LC_(50)value of 8.447μg/***:The results of the present investigation suggest that most of the studied plants are potentially good source of antibacterial and anticancer agents.

Successful outpatient management of acute upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage:use of practice guidelines in a large patient series

AIM Acute upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage is a common reason for hospitalization. Clinical and endoscopic characteristics predict outcome. The aim of this study was to determine the characteristics and outcome of patients with acute upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage cared for without hospitalization. METHODS One hundred seventy six consecutive patients in a staff model health maintenance organization were selected for outpatient care based on absolute endoscopic and non absolute clinical criteria. Clinical and endoscopic characteristics, British national audit “risk scores”, and rates of recurrent bleeding, hospitalization, and mortality were determined. RESULTS Mean patient age (±SD) was 56 4±16 0 years, and 106 patients (60%) were men. One hundred one (57%) had endoscopy within 2 days of the onset of hemorrhage. The mean initial hemoglobin concentration was 11 7mg/dL±2 3mg/dL. Ninety seven patients (55%) had a peptic ulcer, and 57 (32%) had a British risk score greater than 2. Hospitalization, recurrent bleeding, and mortality occurred in two (1%), one (1%), and zero (0%) patients, respectively, during 16 0±10 8 months of follow up. CONCLUSION Many patients with acute upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage can be safely treated as outpatients using endoscopic and clinical guidelines.

胸腺恶性肿瘤发病率低，临床病例分散，需要结合多中心经验才能进行良好的研究，但由于在诸多方面没有统一标准，使得研究与研究之间的可比性差。其中外科医生和病理医生对胸腺恶性肿瘤切除标本的处理是统一标准中至关重要的部分。针对目前胸腺瘤的常用手术方式胸骨劈开根治性R0切除术的标本处理作如下规定，包括切除胸腺瘤及周围的受累结构说明如何处理手术切除标本。活检或细胞学标本的处理另文描述[1]。本文首先由国际胸腺肿瘤协作组织（International hTymic Malignacy Interest Group, ITMIG）中病理医生和外科医生组成的小组回顾相关文献形成初步建议[2,3]，交扩展组审议提炼后分发给ITMIG成员进讨论，再将ITMIG成员回馈的建议和几个大中心试点的情况进行提炼，最终形成的建议经ITMIG批准并被采用。因此，既强调证据又代表ITMIG成员的广泛共识。
