Objective: To analyze the phytochemical constituents responsible for the plausible antioxidant effect of methanolic extract of the seed, pulp and peel of Baccaurea ramiflora Lour. Methods: Fresh seed, pulp, and peel of Baccaurea ramiflora fruits were extracted with methanol(MEBRse, MEBRpu, MEBRpe) and evaluated by phytochemical analysis for their content of innumerable metabolites(primary and secondary) viz. carbohydrates, alkaloids, glycosides, tannins, phenols, terpenoids, flavonoids, proteins, and fixed oils. The antioxidant efficacy was assessed through different assay methods viz. 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH) free radical scavenging activity, total antioxidant capacity(TAC) and reducing power capacity(RPC). Estimation of total phenolic content(TPC), and total flavonoid content(TFC) was also done to confirm the presence of these phytochemicals. Results: It was revealed from the phytochemical analysis of MEBRse that alkaloids, glycosides, carbohydrates, phenols, and flavonoids were present, while that of MEBRpu showed the existence of carbohydrates, proteins, alkaloids, glycosides, phenols, saponins, flavonoids, and fixed oils. Presence of carbohydrates, alkaloids, phenols, tannins, flavonoids, and terpenoids were found in the MEBRpe. A significant antioxidant activity was revealed by the MEBRpu [EC_(50):(27.612 ± 1.375) μg/mL], compared to MEBRpe, and MEBRse in DPPH assay. The ranking order for RPC was MEBRpu > MEBRpe > MEBRse respectively. The EC_(50) value of TAC of the MEBRpu, MEBRpe, and MEBRse were(25.107 ±0.744) μg/mL,(241.127 ± 7.463) μg/mL and(372.364 ± 11.030) μg/mL, respectively. Quantity of TPC and TFC were the highest in the MEBRpu(124.360 ± 2.078 mg GAE/g and 107.527 ±1.900 mg QRE/g extract) rather than MEBRpe and MEBRse extracts. Conclusions: This study suggests that MEBRpu has a significantly higher antioxidant property than MEBRpe and MEBRse. Ongoing improvements in Computational Biology research have generated massive amounts of Protein-Protein Interactions （PPIs） dataset. In this regard, the availability of PPI data for several organisms provoke the discovery of computational methods for measurements, analysis, modeling, comparisons, clustering and alignments of biological data networks. Nevertheless, fixed network comparison is computationally stubborn and as a result several methods have been used instead. We illustrate a prohabilistic approach among proteins nodes that are part of various networks by using Chapman-Kolmogorov （CK） formula. We have compared CK formula with semi-Markov random method, SMETANA. We significantly noticed that CK outperforms the SMETANA in all respects such as efficiency, speed, space and complexity. We have modified the SMETANA source codes available in MATLAB in the light of CK formula. Discriminant-Expectation Maximization （D-EM） accesses the parameters of a protein network datasets and determines a linear transformation to simplify the assumption of probabilistic format of data distributions and find good features dynamically. Our implementation finds that D-EM has a satisfactory performance in protein network alignment applications.

Nature is the best source of complementary and alternative medicine. The plant Phyllanthus acidus (PA) L. has been used traditionally in pain, inflammatory and oxidative stress related disorders. In this consequence, methanolic extract of PA (MEPA) was selected to explore the ability of this plant to enhance cognitive function, brain antioxidant enzymes and anti-acetylcholinesterase activity which can be used for the treatment of oxidative stress related disorders like Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The purpose of this study was to investigate the neuroprotective effect of MEPA on learning and memory impairment in scopolamine-induced rats of dementia and oxidative stress. Treatment with MEPA (i.e., 100 and 200 mg/kg b.w.) was investigated in scopolamine-treated Swiss albino male rats for 14 days and its neuroprotective effects were examined using Elevated Plus Maze (EPM) test, Passive Avoidance (PA) test, Novel Object Recognition (NOR) test, Morris Water Maze (MWM) test as well as level of antioxidant enzymes such as catalase (CAT), super oxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione reductase (GSR), glutathione-S-transferase (GST), reduced glutathione (GSH), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), lipid peroxidation (TBARS) contents and acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity in rat brain tissue homogenates. Administration of MEPA significantly (P th and 14th day compared to the disease control and control group in the EPM test. Chromobacterium violaceum is a Gram negative, facultative anaerobe, generally present in water, soil in tropical and subtropical regions. This bacterium is an emerging environmental pathogen that causes life threatening infection in humans and animals. It can cause wound infection, visceral abscess, septicaemia, meningitis, diarrhoea, UTI. It is associated with significant mortality due to severe systemic infection. As the bacteria have high spreading tendency leading to sepsis, early identification and prompt treatment is necessary. Here we report a case of Chromobacterium violaceum wound infection in a 9 years old male from Dhaka, who was successfully treated with combination of cefixime and flucloxacillin antibiotics as per culture sensitivity report.

In recent years, the popularity of medicinal plants as a remedy has been increased manifold due to having minimal adverse effects. The current study aimed to compare the hypoglycemic, hypolipidemic and hepatoprotective effects of the ethanolic extract of Asparagus racemosus (EEAR) Linn. alone and combinedly with conventional antidiabetic agents (gliclazide and pioglitazone) in alloxan-induced diabetic rats. Diabetes was induced in male Wister albino rats by the administration of single intra-peritoneal injection of alloxan monohydrate (120 mg/kg b.w.). Effect of oral administration of two different doses of EEAR (200 and 400 mg/kg b.w.), gliclazide (10 mg/kg b.w.) and pioglitazone (10 mg/70kg/b.w.) alone for 2 weeks and a combination of EEAR (200 mg/kg b.w.) with either gliclazide (10 mg/kg b.w.) or pioglitazone (10 mg/70kg/b.w.) for 2 weeks were examined on hypoglycemic activity on 0th, 5th, 10th and 14th day of treatment. After 2 weeks of treatment, hypolipidemic and hepatoprotective effects were estimated by serum biochemical markers such as total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low density lipoprotein (LDL), very low density lipoprotein (VLDL), high density lipoprotein (HDL), serum glutamate oxaloacetate transaminases (SGOT), serum glutamate pyruvate trans-aminases (SGPT) and total protein (TP) with the help of commercially available kits. The survival rate, body weight and organ weight were also measured. Alloxan treatment resulted in persistent hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia and liver dysfunction in rats. Treatment with EEAR at different doses improved hyperglycemia significantly (p th and 14th day of treatment in a dose-dependent mood when compared to the disease control rats, gliclazide treated rats and pioglitazone treated rats. 对玉米秸秆进行KOH预浸渍,然后进行磨浆以制备玉米秸秆化学机械浆(以下简称秸秆化机浆),探讨了秸秆化机浆制备瓦楞原纸的可行性,提出了预浸渍废液的处理方法。结果表明,预浸渍KOH用量5.6%、液比1:5、保温温度130℃、保温30 min后,控制浆浓为15%～20%,四段磨浆间隙依次为0.5、0.3、0.1和0.1 mm,制得玉米秸秆化机浆可满足瓦楞芯纸抄造质量要求,此时,手抄片的紧度为0.49 g/cm3,环压指数为9.9 N·m/g,裂断长为2.56 km,撕裂指数为3.28 mN·m/g,耐破指数为1.02 kPa·m/g,平压指数为0.62 N·m/g;秸秆化机浆废液可用于制备有机肥和复混肥料。

In pursuit of improved thermal transportation,the slip flow of Casson nanofluid is considered in the existence of an inclined magnetic field and radiative heat flux flow over a nonlinear stretching *** viscosity of the fluid is considered as a function of temperature along with the convective thermal boundary *** solutions are obtained via Runge-Kutta along with the shooting technique method for the chosen boundary values *** see the physical insights of the problem,some graphs are plotted for various flow and embedded parameters on temperature function,micro-organism distribution,velocity,and volume fraction of nanoparticles.A decline is observed in the velocity and the temperature for Casson *** and Brownian motion incremented the temperature *** is also found that thermal transportation can be enhanced in the presence of nanoparticles and the bioconvection of *** results are useful in the various sectors of engineering and for heat exchangers working in various technological *** main findings of the problem are validated and compared with those in the existing literature as a limiting case.

Linseed is a multipurpose crop and the crop needs further improvement to increase production and yield due to its high value and *** study aimed to assess the extent and pattern of genetic variability of forty linseed genotypes based on diverse agro–morphological and yield *** field experiment was conducted following a Randomized Complete Block Design with three *** germplasm showed a wide range of phenotypic expression,genetic variability and heritability for 30 studied traits.A low to high phenotypic coeffi-cient of variation(PCV)and genotypic coefficient of variation(GCV)were *** lowest genotypic(σ2 g)and phenotypic variances(σ2 p)were found in capsule diameter(CD),length of calyx(LC),capsule length(CL),seed length(SL),and seed breadth(SB).High broad-sense heritability(h2 b)with high genetic advance as a percentage of mean(GAM)were observed in days to germination started(DGS),days to 80%emergence(DE),plant height at 28 and 40 DAS,number of flowers(NFPP),filled capsules(NFCPP)and yield per plant(YPP)indicating additive gene action exists for these *** cluster analysis separated 40 genotypes into five clusters,where Clusters I to V assembled with 13,4,4,5 and 14 genotypes,*** yield and yield attributes,Cluster-IV(G3,G4,G6,G10 and G31)genotypes showed promising while,Cluster-II(G2,G16,G35,G36)and Cluster-III(G1,G33,G39 and G40)genotypes were dominant on plant morphological *** on principal component analysis(PCA),few characters such as YPP,NFPP,NFCPP,days to first flowering and capsule formation,early emergence,days to branch initiation and plant heights at different growth stages revealed important and effective traits for consideration in the selection of linseed breeding programs.

Performance Evaluation of Two-Hop Wireless Network under Asymmetric Fading Environment

To enhance the reliability of long wireless link, a relay is placed between transmitter and receiver which break the link into two parts: transmitter to relay called 1st hop and relay to receiver called 2nd hop;such arrangement is called two hop wireless links. In two-hop wireless communication sometimes 1st and 2nd hops are affected by different types of fading called asymmetric fading environment. In this paper we consider four different combinations of Rayleigh and Nakagami-m fading on 1st and 2nd hop to observe the profile of combined pdf (probability density function) and cdf (cumulative distribution function). With the help of cdf we determine the variation of outage probability of mixed fading. Finally we plot the SER (symbol error rate) against the SNR (signal to noise ratio) of the 2nd hop for all possible combinations of the two fading taking the SNR of 1st hop as a parameter. Although recent literature deals with asymmetric fading environment but in this paper instead of details statistical model of such fading we provide the relative scenario of mixed fading on 2-hop wireless link.
