The fluorine-substituted benzoate ester rod-shaped liquid crystals containing an azobenzene side chain linked with terminal double bonds were synthesized and *** mesophase and photoswitching properties were determined by polarizing optical microscopy（POM）,differential scanning calorimetry（DSC） and UV-visible *** rod-shaped compound 4a having an odd number of carbon atoms in the alkyl chains exhibits nematic phase and SmA type phase whereas compound 4b having an even number of carbon atoms showed only nematic *** fluorinecontaining compounds 4c and 4d showed only SmA type *** photoswitching properties of these compounds showed a rate of trans to cis isomerization ranging 19-20 s,whereas reverse process took around 230 min in *** materials may be ideal in the field of optically rewritable applications where both on and off rates should be crucial.

A well-known adsorbent, poly(amidoxime)ligand, was prepared from polyacrylonitrile(PAN) grafted kenaf cellulose, and subsequent characterization was performed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),field emission scanning electron microscope(FESEM) and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ICP-MS).The adsorption capacities of the prepared ligand for rare earth metals are found to be excellent, with adsorptions of La^(3+), Ce^(3+), Pr^(3+), Gd^(3+) and Nd^(3+) experimentally determined to be 262, 255, 244, 241 and 233 mg·g^(-1), respectively, at pH 6. The experimental values of the adsorption of rare earth metals are well matched with the pseudosecond-order rate equation. The reusability of the adsorbent is examined for seven cycles of sorption/desorption,demonstrating that the proposed adsorbent could be reused for over seven cycles without any significant loss in the original removal capability of the ligand.

Lanthanide-ion imprinted polymers（L-IIPs） were synthesized by stoichiometric amounts of rare earth ions and the cavities in the polymers were created for the corresponding lanthanide ions. The maximum sorption capacities were estimated to be 125.3, 126.5, 127.6, 128.2 and 129.1 mg/g for Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu and Gd, respectively at p H 6. In the selectivity study, the L-IIPs exhibited good selectivity to the specific rare earth ions in the presence of coexisting cations. The imprinting results were found to be excellent with some rare earth ions over other competitor rare earth ions with the same charges and close ionic radius.

In this study Moringa oleifera leaves(biosorbent) is used for Cadmium(Ⅱ) removal from water as a natural alternative for synthetic *** water was used to find optimum conditions for water treatment using *** effect of biosorbent dosage and particle size, contact time, and pH effect were *** Absorption Spectroscopy(AAS) was used to monitor the Cd(Ⅱ) concentration before and after treatment with *** Transform Infrared Spectroscopy(FTIR) was used to monitor biosorbent structure changes before and after loading with Cd(Ⅱ).Many parameters were studied such as: dosage of biosorbent(1 – 10 g/L), contact time(2 – 20 min), particle size(2 mm, 1 mm, 500 μm, 250 μm, and <250 μm), pH range(4-10), and Cd(Ⅱ) concentrations(1, 3, 5, and 7 ppm).The statistical analysis of studied parameters showed that all parameters has an effect on Cd(Ⅱ) removal with p values <0.05 except *** result showed changes in the finger print area of biosorbent functional groups due to adsorption of Cd(Ⅱ).As a conclusion, Moringa oleifera leaves can be used as an effective, low cost, and environmentally friendly biosorbent for the removal of Cd(Ⅱ) from water.

The widespread presence of microplastics(MPs)in road dust has considerable concern regarding their potential risks to ecosystems and human *** the massive production of plastic,the erudition of MPs distribution patterns in various sizes of deposited road dust is still limited around the ***,the aim of this research is to provide an unambiguous picture of MPs distributional pattern,identification,classification,quantification,and features from road dust in various zones and types of roadways in Dhaka,*** study examined MPs in road dust samples with particle sizes ranging from 300 to 150 mm(Group-A),149-75 mm(Group-B),andunpaved road(325 items/5 g)>soil samples(294 items/5 g),roadside dust samples(284 items/5 g),and mid-road(283 items/5 g).By taking into account all sizes of road dust samples,the MPs were classified as fiber(70.26%),fragment(26.12%),beads(0.66%),films(1.32%),and foams(1.58%).It was found that adults inhaled MPs an average of 1612 items/day,while they ingested an average of 880 items/*** had an inhalation rate of 1232 items/day and an ingestion rate of 10267 items/day,which was 4e17 times greater than in other *** study identified 22 MPs polymer types,and SEM results show that MPs surfaces are being weathered into nanoplastics,creating a more hazardous environment.
