An Improved SOI CMOS Technology Based Circuit Technique for Effective Reduction of Standby Subthreshold Leakage

Silicon-on-insulator (SOI) CMOS technology is a very attractive option for implementing digital integrated circuits for low power applications. This paper presents migration of standby subthreshold leakage control technique from a bulk CMOS to SOI CMOS technology. An improved SOI CMOS technology based circuit technique for effective reduction of standby subthreshold leakage power dissipation is proposed in this paper. The proposed technique is validated through design and simulation of a one-bit full adder circuit at a temperature of 27℃, supply voltage, VDD of 0.90 V in 120 nm SOI CMOS technology. Existing standby subthreshold leakage control techniques in CMOS bulk technology are compared with the proposed technique in SOI CMOS technology. Both the proposed and existing techniques are also implemented in SOI CMOS technology and compared. Reduction in standby subthreshold leakage power dissipation by reduction factors of 54x and 45x foraone-bit full adder circuit was achieved using our proposed SOI CMOS technology based circuit technique in comparison with existing techniques such as MTCMOS technique and SCCMOS technique respectively in CMOS bulk technology. Dynamic power dissipation was also reduced significantly by using this proposed SOI CMOS technology based circuit technique. Standby subthreshold leakage power dissipation and dynamic power dissipation were also reduced significantly using the proposed circuit technique in comparison with other existing techniques, when all circuit techniques were implemented in SOI CMOS technology. All simulations were performed using Microwindver 3.1 EDA tool.

Allelopathic Potential of Three Oil Enriched Plants against Seedling Growth of Common Field Crops

Current study aims to investigate the allelopathic potential of the differentparts (leaf, bark, stem, twig and root) of three oil-enrich plant species ofBangladesh viz., Jatropha curcus, Ricinus communis and Aphanamixispolystachya. The aqueous extract of those plant parts were diluted intofour different concentrations viz., 1:5, 1:10, 1:15, 1:20 (w/v) and testedagainst the seedling growth of jute, rice, wheat, radish, tomato, mungbeanand mustard under control laboratory condition. A control (distilled waterwithout extract) was also maintained in every cases and the bioassayexperiment was replicated thrice. The results of this research showed thatthe shoot and root growth inhibition of rice, wheat, jute, tomato, radish,mungbean and mustard by leaf, bark, stem, twig and root extracts of ***, R. communis and A. polystachya varied significantly. Compareto the shoot growth, the root growth of the test species inhibited moreexcept J. curcus. The leaf and root have higher allelopathic potential thanany other parts of the studied plants. Finally, it can be concluded here thatJ. curcus plant extracts has higher allelopathic potential than other twoplants R. communis and A. polystachya. Therefore, J. curcus can be usedas a candidate plant for isolation and identification of allelopathic substancesfor the development of new natural herbicides.

New Hybrid Digital Circuit Design Techniques for Reducing Subthreshold Leakage Power in Standby Mode

In this paper, four new hybrid digital circuit design techniques, namely, hybrid multi-threshold CMOS complete stack technique, hybrid multi-threshold CMOS partial stack technique, hybrid super cutoff complete stack technique and hybrid super cutoff partial stack technique, have been proposed to reduce the subthreshold leakage power dissipation in standby modes. Techniques available in literature are compared with our proposed hybrid circuit design techniques. Performance parameters such as subthreshold leakage power dissipation in active and standby modes, dynamic power dissipation and propagation delay, are compared using existing and proposed hybrid techniques for a two input AND gate. Reduction of subthreshold leakage power dissipation in standby mode is given more importance, in comparison with the other circuit design performance parameters. It is found that there is reduction in subthreshold leakage power dissipation in standby and active modes by 3.5× and 1.15× respectively using the proposed hybrid super cutoff complete stack technique as compared to the existing multi-threshold CMOS (MTCMOS) technique. Also a saving of 2.50× and 1.04× in subthreshold leakage power dissipation in standby and active modes respectively were observed using hybrid super cutoff complete stack technique as compared to the existing super cutoff CMOS (SCCMOS) technique. The proposed hybrid super cutoff stack technique proved to perform better in terms of subthreshold leakage power dissipation in standby mode in comparison with other techniques. Simulation results using Microwind EDA tool in 65 nm CMOS technology is provided in this paper.

Comparison between Tencel-Flax Blended Slub Yarn and Cotton-Flax Blended Slub Yarn

The blending of different fibers is done for the manufacturing of yarn to ensure the presence of multiple properties in the resultant yarn which is impossible if we use only one type of fiber. Tencel is regenerated cellulosic fiber & flax is natural bast fiber. Tencel shows more versatility than flax. Tencel has a softer feel with a variety of end uses. Tencel is wrinkle-prone and stiff. Tencel shows extreme strength even in wet conditions and at the same time, it is more durable than linen. The most important fact is that the heat dissipation property of flax is 5 times higher than wool & 19 times higher than silk. Linen clothing can lower the body temperature by 3 to 4 degree celsius in hot weather than clothing made of wool and silk. A yarn made of both Tencel & linen (50:50) will contain the properties of both fibers. At the same time, we can make this yarn more aesthetic by incorporating a slub. It was observed that the slub yarn made by blending Tencel and flax fiber shows better properties than the slub yarn of the same count made from the blending of cotton and flax.

Electroencephalogram(EEG)is a method of capturing the electrophy-siological signal of the *** EEG headset is a wearable device that records electrophysiological data from the *** paper presents the design and fab-rication of a customized low-cost Electroencephalogram(EEG)headset based on the open-source OpenBCI Ultracortex Mark IV *** electrode placement locations are modiﬁed under a 10–20 standard *** fabricated headset is then compared to commercially available headsets based on the following para-meters:affordability,accessibility,noise,signal quality,and ***,the data is recorded from 20 subjects who used the EEG Headset,and signals were ***,the participants marked the accuracy,set up time,participant comfort,and participant perceived ease of set-up on a scale of 1 to 7(7 being excellent).Thirdly,the self-designed EEG headband is used by 5 participants for slide *** raw EEG signal is decomposed into a series of band sig-nals using discrete wavelet transform(DWT).Lastly,theseﬁndings have been compared to previously reported *** concluded that when used for slide-changing control,our self-designed EEG headband had an accuracy of 82.0 *** also concluded from the results that our headset performed well on the cost-effectiveness scale,had a reduced setup time of 2±0.5 min(the short-est among all being compared),and demonstrated greater ease of use.

Prevalence of Antibiotic Resistant Bacteria on Tomato Surfaces and Effectiveness of Disinfectants in Reducing the Microbial Load

This study was conducted to isolate and identify antibiotic resistant bacteria in fresh tomato sold in three different local markets of Dhaka city. On an average 〉 5.0 log CFU/g of natural microbial populations and coliform bacteria was present in the samples. Prevalence of Salmonella spp., E. coli, Listeria spp., and Yersinia spp., were recorded through cultivation dependent assay of tomato samples of different markets. Almost all of the isolates were uniformly resistant to rifampicin, erythromycin, clindamycin and oxacillin （100%）, vancomycin （93%）, amoxicillin （87%）, whereas 60% of the isolates were found to be resistant to ampicillin and cephalexin. Antibiotic sensitivity test of the presumptive E. coli and Salmonella spp. and corresponding plasmid profiling indicated a correlation of plasmid mediated multidrug resistance （mdR） of these environmental bacteria. Washing with sanitizing agents such as acidified sodium chlorite （ASC） and 200 ppm chlorinated water was able to reduce _〈 2.0 log CFU/g of natural microflora and coliform bacteria. In contrast, ASC was able to reduce 〈 2.0 log CFU/g of other food borne pathogens and, chlorinated water was able to reduce up to undetectable level. Therefore, washing of tomato with 200 ppm chlorinated water could be useful in reducing the pathogen populations on tomatoes.

Morphological characters of Botia lohachata

Objective:To provide complete and informative description on morphometric characters i.e.,relationships between length-weight(LWRs)and length-length and meristic characters of Botia lohachata from the Ganges River,Northwestern ***:Samples were collected occasionally using different fishing gears from July 2015 to June *** each individual,total 15 lengths were taken using digital slide calipers and body weight was measured using an electronic balance with 0.01 cm and 0.01 g accuracy,*** LWRs was estimated using the formula:W=a×L^(b),where W was the body weight(g);L was the length(cm)and,a and b were LWRs *** meristic data were counted using magnifying ***:A sum of 110 individuals of Botia lohachata were hardly *** length was varied from 3.70-6.80 cm and body weight was ranged from 0.55 to 2.80 *** LWRs were highly correlated(P<0.001)with r^(2)values greater than *** calculated overall allometric coefficient(b)indicated negative allometric growth pattern(b<3.00,P<0.001).In addition,all length-length relationships were highly significant(P<0.001)and most of the r^(2)values were greater than *** fin formula was-dorsal,D.10-11(2-3/8);pectoral,P_(c).8-10(4-6/4);pelvic,P_(v).8(2-3/5-6);anal,A_(n).6-7(2/4-5);and caudal,C_(a).20-22(6-8/14-16).Conclusions:The findings of the present study will keep a crucial contribution to fisheries scientist in favor of identification of this fish,stock assessment and sustainable conservation in the Ganges River of Bangladesh and adjoining ***,these results will impart valuable information for the FishBase,as well as provide an important baseline for further studies.

Cloud computing is a kind of computing that depends on shared figuring assets instead of having nearby servers or individual gadgets to deal with applications. Technology is moving to the cloud more and more. It’s not just a trend, the shift away from ancient package models to package as service has steadily gained momentum over the last ten years. Looking forward, the following decade of cloud computing guarantees significantly more approaches to work from anyplace, utilizing cell phones. Cloud computing focused on better performances, better scalability and resource consumption but it also has some security issue with the data stored in it. The proposed algorithm intents to come with some solutions that will reduce the security threats and ensure far better security to the data stored in cloud.

The study of various oxidation states of chromium with Sargassum sp. is of particular interest since hexavalent chromium is reduced to trivalent chromium in an aqueous solution. In this study, a systematic density functional theory (DFT) calculations were performed to study the interactions of transition metal chromium ion with different oxidation states and spin states with the Sargassum sp. decorated with carboxylate (acetate) at the wB97XD/6-311++ G(d,p) level of theory. The structures and binding energies of chromium metal-carboxylate complexes at various oxidation states and spin states in gas phase were examined. The coordination strength of Cr(VI) with the acetate ligand was predominantly the strongest compared to the other oxidation states. Vibrational frequency analysis, for the homoleptic monomers of tris [CrIII(AC)3]0 and [CrVI(AC)3]3+ complexes, illustrate good harmony with the experimen
