Small water bodies are critical for maintaining freshwater biodiversity,but are among the least investigated aquatic *** examined physical and chemical variables at two reaches in Arroyo Tambillos,a small,high-elevation Andean stream,in nW Mendoza province,Argentina,across four seasons to examine how local factors and seasonality affected the structure of the macroinvertebrate *** Arroyo Tambillos community was numerically dominated by ephemeropterans(mainly Massartellopsis irarrazavali)while the dipteran Chironomidae were the most species *** macroinvertebrate abundance was highest in summer,driven mainly by taxa that were secondary in dominance(Austrelmis *** Andesiops peruvianus),while richness did not differ between ***,benthic composition was different in Fall 2013(March)compared to other seasons,largely because of the increased abundance of *** correspondence analysis discriminated Chironomidae species distributions in Fall 2013 by substrate type(i.e.,big and small boulder substrate).By contrast,discharge,velocity,and depth were the variables which most affected the macroinvertebrate abundance and *** to our expectations,most community changes observed occurred in fall instead of ***-kryal stream communities like the one described here have become increasingly important for conserving mountain stream biodiversity as anthropogentic impacts and climate change increasingly impact lower stream ***,monitoring high-altitude streams like the Arroyo Tambillos may be critical for preventing the future loss of unique and sensitive stream biota.

We obtain upper bounds for mixed exponential sums of the type $S(\chi ,f,p^m ) = \sum\nolimits_{x = 1}^{p^n } {\chi (x)e} _{p^m } (ax^n + bx)$ where pm is a prime power with m? 2 and X is a multiplicative character (mod pm). If X is primitive or p?(a, b) then we obtain |S(χ,f,p m)| ?2np 2/3 m . If X is of conductor p and p?( a, b) then we get the stronger bound |S(χ,f,p m)|?np m/2.

Carbothermal reduction using biochar(BC)is a green and effective method of synthesizing BCsupported nanoscale zero-valent iron(nanoFe^(0))***,the effect of BC surface area on the structure,distribution,and performance such as the heavy metal uptake capacity of nanoFe^(0)particles remains *** stover-based BCs with different surface areas(1.7−1472 m^(2)/g)were prepared in this *** have been used for in-situ synthesis BCs-supported nanoFe^(0)particlesthrough carbothermal reduction of ferrous *** BCs-supported nanoFe^(0)particles were found to be covered with graphene shells and dispersed onto BC surfaces,forming the BC-supported graphene-encapsulated nanoFe^(0)(BC-G@Fe^(0))*** graphene shells covering the nanoFe^(0)particles were formed because of gaseous carbon evolved from biomass carbonization reacting with iron oxides/iron *** BC surface area decreased the average diameters of nanoFe^(0)particles,indicating a higher BC surface area alleviated the aggregation of nanoFe^(0)particles,which resulted in higher heavy metal uptake *** the optimized condition,BC-G@Fe^(0)composite exhibited uptake capacities of 124.4,121.8,254.5,and 48.0 mg/g for Cu^(2+),pb^(2+),Ag^(+),and As^(3+),respectively(pH 5,25℃).Moreover,the BC-G@Fe^(0)composite also demonstrated high stability for Cu^(2+)removal from the fixed-bed continuous flow,in which 1 g of BC-G@Fe^(0)can work for 120 h in a 4 mg/L Cu^(2+)flow continually and clean 28.6 L Cu^(2+)contaminated ***,the BC-G@Fe^(0)composite can effectively immobilize the bioavailable As^(3+)from the contaminated soil,i.e.,5%(w)of BC-G@Fe^(0)composite addition can immobilize up to 92.2%bioavailable As^(3+)from the contaminated soil.

Free-air carbon dioxide(CO_(2))enrichment(FACE)experiments provide an opportunity to test models of heat and water flow under novel,controlled situations and eventually allow use of these models for hypothesis *** study assesses whether the United States Department of Agriculture SHAW(Simultaneous Heat and Water)numerical model of vertical one-dimensional soil water flow across the soil-plant-atmosphere continuum is able to adequately represent and explain the effects of increasing atmospheric CO_(2) on soil moisture dynamics in temperate *** in a FACE experiment,the Bio COn(Biodiversity,CO_(2),and nitrogen)experiment,in Minnesota,USA,were compared with results of vertical soil moisture *** scenarios represented by different plots were assessed:bare,vegetated with ambient CO_(2),and similarly vegetated with high CO_(2).From the simulations,the bare plot soil was generally the wettest,followed by a drier high-CO_(2) vegetated plot,and the ambient CO_(2) plot was the *** SHAW simulations adequately reproduced the expected behavior and showed that vegetation and atmospheric CO_(2) concentration significantly affected soil moisture *** differences in modeled soil moisture amongst the plots were largely due to tran.p.ration,which was low with high CO_(2).However,the modeled soil moisture only modestly reproduced the ***,while SHAW is able to replicate and help broadly explain soil moisture dynamics in a FACE experiment,its application for point-and time-specific simulations of soil moisture needs further *** typical design of a FACE experiment makes the experimental observations challenging to model with a one-dimensional distributed *** addition,FACE instrumentation and monitoring will need improvement in order to be a useful platform for robust model *** after this can we recommend that models such as SHAW are adequate for process interpretation of datasets from FACE exp

purpose: The purpose of this quantitative review was to summarize the state of Elliot's Hierarchical Model of Approach and Avoidance Motivation, specifically the antecedents of the 2 × 2 achievement goals in the sport, physical activity, and physical education literature. In addition,the intercorrelations amongst the 2 × 2 goals were also ***: A systematic review of the literature was conducted. Meta-analytic procedures were used with the mean weighted sample correlation(rw) as the effect size metric. The antecedents were coded by Elliot's(1999) antecedent categories. A number of moderators were coded a ***: Based on a fixed effects model from 47 published studies(total unique n = 15,413) that met inclusion criteria, the 2 × 2 achievement goals were significantly correlated amongst each other ranging from small to medium to large in meaningfulness. Concerning the antecedents, overall they were theoretically correct in associations, but only a few of the relationships were medium in meaningfulness. Most relationships were small in meaningfulness. Heterogeneity was present for the interrcorrelation and antecedent ***: Future research is encouraged to grow and enrich the understanding of achievement goals within Elliot's complete Hierarchical Model of Approach and Avoidance Motivation to include both antecedents and outcomes simultaneously to improve upon the understanding of achievement motivation in sport, exercise, and physical activity settings.

Healthy soils are important to ensure satisfactory crop growth and yield. poultry litter (pL), as an organic fertilizer, has proven to supply the soil with essential macro and micronutrients, enhance soil fertility, and improve crop productivity. Integrating this treatment has the potential to improve soil physical and biological properties by increasing soil carbon, C. However, rapid decomposition and mineralization of pL, particularly in the hot and humid southeastern U.S., resulted in losing C and reduced its effect on soil health. Biochar and lignite have been.p.oposed to stabilize and mitigate C loss through application of fresh manure. However, their combined effects with pL on C sequestration and soil health components are limited. A field experiment was conducted on Leeper silty clay loam soil from 2017 to 2020 to evaluate the combined effect on soil properties when applying biochar and lignite with pL to cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.). The experimental design was a randomized complete block involving nine treatments replicated three times. Treatments included pL and inorganic nitrogen, n, fertilizer with or without biochar and lignite, and an unfertilized control. Application rates were 6.7 Mgkg⋅ha−1p> for pL, 6.7 Mgkg⋅ha−1p>p> for biochar and lignite and 134 kg⋅ha−1p>p>p> for inorganic n fertilizer. Integration of pL and inorganic fertilizer with biochar and lignite, resulted in greater soil infiltration, aggregate stability, plant available water, reduced bulk density and penetration resistance as compared to the sole applications of pL and inorganic fertilizer.

Environmental stresses profoundly altered accumulation of nonsense mRnAs including intron-retaining （IR） transcripts in Arabidopsis. Temporal patterns of stress-induced IR mRnAs were dissected using both oscillating and non-oscillating transcripts. Broad-range thermal cycles triggered a sharp increase in the long IR CCA1 isoforms and altered their phasing to different times of day. Both abiotic and biotic stresses such as drought or pseudomonas syringae infection induced a similar increase. Thermal stress induced a time delay in accumulation of CCA1 14Rb transcripts, whereas functional mRnA showed steady oscillations. Our data favor a hypothesis that stress-induced instabilities of the central oscillator can be in.p.rt compensated through fluctuations in abundance and out-of-phase oscillations of CCA1 IR transcripts. Taken together, our results support a concept that mRnA abundance can be modulated through altering ratios between functional and nonsense/IR transcripts. SR45 protein specifically bound to the retained CCA1 intron in vitro, suggesting that this sp!icing factor could be involved in regulation of intron retention. Transcriptomes of nonsense-mediated mRnA decay （nMD）-impaired and heat-stressed plants shared a set of retained introns associated with stress- and defense-inducible transcripts. Constitutive activation of certain stress response networks in an nMD mutant could be linked to disequilibrium between functional and nonsense mRnAs.
