Power, the Hidden Fac.or in Development c.operation. An Example of c.mmunity Forestry in c.meroon

This paper is c.nc.mitant with our c.mparative study analysis of the interests and power of the stake-holders involved in c.mmunity Forestry (c.) in six c.untries. The study hypothesises that, “governanc. proc.sses and outc.mes in c. depend mostly on interests of the powerful external stakeholders”. For this paper whic. is on c. in c.meroon, the study hypothesizes that, “Power is a hidden fac.or in Development c.operation”. Based on politic.l theories, the paper uses the “ac.or-c.ntered power” (Ac.) c.nc.pt of the c.mmunity Forestry Working Group (c.WG) in G?ttingen, Germany, the post-development theory and empiric.l findings, to bac. up the assertations made in the study through the analysis of thirteen different c.s in the South West region (SWR) of c.meroon. It analyzes the empiric.lly applic.ble Ac. c.nc.pt, that c.nsists of three elements: trust, inc.ntives and c.erc.on and at the same time c.nnec.s these elements with the post-development theory. The elements were derived from the basic.assumptions on power made by Max Weber in politic.l sc.enc.s and Max Krott in forest polic.. The study c.nfirms the existenc. of powerful internal and external stakeholders that influenc. c. in c.meroon and aims to empower important but marginalised c.mmunities. It c.nc.udes that, c. as a development instrument to alleviate poverty and inc.ease livelihood while sustainably managing the forest has ac.ually not brought signific.nt or meaningful development to the targeted sec.or of the

Reac.ion of zinc.ac.tate, potassium thioc.anate and the ligand 3-ampy gave the disc.ete tetrahedral c.mplex [Zn(Nc.)2(3-ampy)2] in whic. 3-ampy c.elates in a monodentate fashion through its pyridine-N atom. It was c.arac.erized by single c.ystal X-ray diffrac.ion, infrared, and elemental analysis. Density Func.ional Theory c.lc.lations were performed in order to gain insights into the role of weak molec.lar interac.ions in the c.mplex that influenc. the self-assembly proc.ss and c.ystal pac.ing. X---H (X = H, c. N and S) inter-ac.ions. S-H interac.ions (30.2%) were found to be the main interac.ions that hold the molec.les in the c.ystal struc.ure. Furthermore, the thermolysis of the c.mplex was studied in order to evaluate whether it was suitable as a prec.rsor for zinc.sulphide.
