Prospective randomized study correlating intra-operative urethral mucosal injury with early period after transurethral resection of the prostate stricture urethra: A novel concept

Objective:To investigate the incidence of urethral stricture during the early period after transurethral resection of the prostate(TURP)and correlate its incidence with intra-operative urethral mucosal injury during *** to compare the other established risk factors affecting the development of urethral stricture among patients undergoing monopolar or bipolar TURP over a period of 6 months follow-up as the prospective randomized ***:One hundred and fifty men older than 50 years with lower-urinary tract symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia were randomized to undergo either standard monopolar TURP with glycine as the irrigation fluid or bipolar TURP with normal saline as *** prostate size,operative time,intra-operative mucosal rupture,catheter time,catheter traction duration,uroflowmetry,and post-operative stricture rate were ***:A total of 150 patients underwent TURP,including 74 patients undergoing monopolar TURP(one patient was excluded as his post-operative histopathological examination report was of adenocarcinoma prostate)and 75 patients undergoing bipolar-TURP,all of which were performed using a 26 Fr sheath *** mean International Prostate Symptom Score and maximum urinary flow rate score at post-operative 3 months and 6 months were comparable between the *** of 149 patients,nine patients(6.0%)developed urethral *** severity of the injury(urethral mucosal injury)correlated with the likelihood of developing a subsequent complication(stricture urethra).Patients with stricture had significantly larger prostate volume than patients without stricture(65.0 mL vs.50.0 mL;p=0.030).Patients with stricture had longer operative time than patients without stricture(55.0 min vs.40.0 min;p=0.002).In both procedures,formation of post-operative stricture urethra was independently associated with intra-operative mucosal ***:Intra-operative recognition of urethral mucosal injury hel

Facile synthesis of isoindoline-l,3-diones by palladium-catalyzed carbonylative cyclization of o-bromobenzoic acid and primary amines

A facile method for the carbonylative cycliza- tion of o-bromobenzoic acid with primary amine using Pd（OAC）2 as a metal precursor and 1, l′-bis（diphenylpho- sphino）ferrocene （dppf） as a ligand has been developed. The effect of various reaction parameters such as ligand, solvent, base, time and temperature on this cyclization was studied. The optimized protocol was used for a wide variety of substituted aryl amines with different steric and electronic properties, affording the corresponding isoindoline-l,3-diones in good to excellent yields under atmospheric pressure of carbon monoxide at 100℃ within 10h using 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane （DABCO） as a base. The reaction system finds attractive alternative to the conventional multistep synthetic process and thus repre- sents an effective utilization of carbonylative protocol for synthesis of valuable chemicals.

Profiles of HIV-infected anti-retroviral therapy naïve children from mumbai,India

The cross section values of the^(71)Ga(n,γ)^(72)Ga reaction are measured,which are 9.14±0.81 mb and 5.74±0.50 mb at 2.15 and 3.19 meV,*** detailed uncertainty propagation and covariance analysis are also ***^(7)Li(p,n)^(7)Be reaction was used to generate the neutrons,and the neutron flux was normalized using the^(115)In(n,n′)^(115)In^(m)monitor *** measured cross section data are compared with the data available in the EXFOR database,the data obtained using nuclear reaction model codes EmPIRE-3.2 and TALYS-1.95,and also the evaluated nuclear data from ENDF/B-VIII.0 and JEFF-3.1/*** comparison shows that our result at 3.19 meV is in good agreement with those of EmPIRE-3.2 and JEFF-3.1/*** there are no other measurements available at3.19 meV,our data could not be compared with literature data at 3.19 meV,but they are consistent with the cross section values available at 2.98±0.26 and 3.0±0.1 *** result at 2.15 meV is slightly higher than the literature value available in EXFOR,evaluated value,and theoretically predicted result.

The cross sections of the^(121)Sb(n,2n)^(120)Sb^(m) and ^(123)Sb(n,2n)^(122)Sb reactions were measured at 12.50,15.79 and 18.87 meV neutron energies relative to the standard ^(27)Al(n,α)^(24)Na monitor reaction using neutron activation and offline γ-ray *** of the samples was performed at the BARC-TIFR Pelletron Linac Facility,mumbai,*** quasi-monoenergetic neutrons were generated via the ^(7)Li(p,n)*** model calculations were performed by nuclear reaction codes TALYS(ver.1.9)and EmPIRE(ver.3.2.2)using various input parameters and nuclear level density *** cross sections of the ground and the isomeric state as well as the isomeric cross section ratio were studied theoretically from reaction threshold to 26 meV *** effect of pre-equilibrium emission is also discussed in detail using different theoretical *** present measured cross sections were discussed and compared with the reported experimental data and evaluation data of the JEFF-3.3,ENDF/B-VIII.0,JENDL/AD-2017 and TENDL-2019 libraries.A detailed analysis of the uncertainties in the measured cross section data was performed using the covariance analysis ***,a systematic study of the(n,2n)reaction cross section for^(121)Sb and^(123)Sb isotopes was also performed within 14-15 meV neutron energies using various systematic *** work helps to overcome discrepancies in Sb data and illustrate a better understanding of pre-equilibrium emission in the(n,2n)reaction channel.
