Glycerol valorization through production of di-glyceryl butyl ether with sulfonic acid functionalized KIT-6 catalyst

In this work,the etherification of glycerol with n-butanol catalyzed by sulfonic acid functionalized on KIT-6 mesoporous silica(SO_(3)H-KIT-6)was investigated for the production of valuable fuel *** SO_(3)H-KIT-6 catalyst was synthesized by co-condensation with different molar ratios of tetraethoxysilane and 3-mercaptopropyl(methyl)di-methoxy *** etherification reaction was systematically examined to determine the optimal reaction temperature,reaction time,catalyst loading,and glycerol to n-butanol ratio under autogenous *** maximum glycerol conversion and di-glyceryl n-butyl ether(di-GNBE)selectivity were 59.09 and 51.50%,respectively,when the SO_(3)H-KIT-6 catalyst with the highest acidity was ***,the presence of a methyl group on the catalyst surface prevented glycerol adsorption during the reaction process,leading to the inhibition of undesired product *** SO_(3)H-KIT-6 catalyst could be reused up to three times,with only a 13%decrease in glycerol conversion being ***,the superior performance of the SO_(3)H-KIT-6 catalyst for di-GNBE production was also demonstrated compared with conventional solid acid catalysts including HZSM-5,H-beta zeolite,Amberlyst-35,and Amberlyst-36.

Paliperidone palmitate-induced facial angioedema:A case report

BACKGROUND Paliperidone palmitate is a once-monthly injectable,atypical *** our knowledge,there has been only one report of paliperidone palmitate-induced angioedema presenting with acute laryngeal edema with subsequent respiratory ***,we present a case report of paliperidone palmitate-induced angioedema with a relatively mild clinical presentation compared with the previously reported case,and the patient's condition was not complicated by lifethreatening *** SUMMARY A 79-year-old female,who had a major neurocognitive disorder due to Alzheimer's disease with behavioral *** palmitate was offlabel used to control her aggression,irritability,and *** induction doses(150 mg and 100 mg intramuscularly,given 1 wk apart),she developed intermittent swelling of the face,eyelids,and lips on day 17 after the initial dose,and the edema was explicitly seen on day *** diagnosis was paliperidone palmitate-induced *** monthly injection dose was discontinued on day 33 after the initial *** angioedema was subsequently alleviated,and it had completely resolved by day 40 after the initial *** Paliperidone palmitate-induced angioedema is a rare condition and can present with a mild,intermittent facial edema,which may be overlooked in clinical practice.
