Presentation and Management of Wilm’s Tumour in Sudan (Three Centre Experience from 2014-2016)

Background: Wilm’s tumour is a cancer of the kidneys that typically occurs in children younger than fifteen years of age and rarely in adults. With an early diagnosis and proper management of Wilm’s tumour by Multi-modal approach, excellent outcome can be obtained. This study was designed to reflect the clinical presentations and focus on different management modalities with an outcome of Wilm’s tumour in Sudan. Patients and methods: This descriptive, retro-prospective analytic study included all patients of Wilm’s tumour at Soba University Hospital, Gezira national paediatric surgery centre and Khartoum teaching Hospital from January 2014 to January 2016. Results: Thirty patients (pts) were included. Females were predominant in a ratio of 3: 1 to males. The mean age was 3.0 - 5.9 years. Those who came from central and western of Sudan were more affected. Most patients presented with abdominal mass 28 pts (93.3%), followed by abdominal distension in 16 pts (53.3%), while the less frequent presentation was haematuria seen only in 2 pts (6.7%). The multimodal approach: surgery and chemotherapy used in 21 pts (70%) and single modality was used in nine patients: surgery alone in 6 pts (20%), or chemotherapy alone in 3 pts (10%). The patients discharged uneventfully 23 pts (76%). Morbidity was seen in two patients. Deaths were occurred in five patients in the study (16.7%). Conclusion: The finding of this study reflected that Wilm’s tumour has an excellent outcome when patient was managed by multimodal approach.

The introduction of metals into vitreous matrices is the origin of various interesting phenomena;in particular,the presence of copper ions in glass has been the subject of considerable research because of its numerous *** ion-exchange process is primarily used to introduce copper ions into glass *** thermoluminescence(TL)of silicate glass was studied to evaluate its potential as gamma-sensitive material for dosimetric applications;the effect of copper doping on the thermoluminescent sensitivity was investigated using the Cu-Na ion-exchange technique for different concentrations and doping conditions,over a wide dose range of 10 mGy to 100 *** results showed that Cu doping significantly improved the sensitivity of the glasses to gamma *** the ion-exchange,two peaks appeared in the glow curves at approximately 175 and 230°C,respectively,which possibly originated from the Cu^(+) centers,along with a weak TL peak at around 320℃.We also attempted to explain the origin of the observed thermoluminescence by exploiting the Electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)*** results clearly show quenching of the TL emission with increasing copper *** present work indicates that the thermoluminescence response of these glasses to gamma rays can be reasonably measured in the range of 0.001-100 *** study also facilitates the understanding of the basic TL mechanism in this glass system.

This paper is concerned with an interval general Cohen-Grossberg bidirectional associative memory neural networks with mixed delays. Under proper conditions, the authors studied the existence,the uniqueness and the global exponential stability of almost automorphic solutions for the suggested system. The proposed method was mainly based on the exponential dichotomy of linear differential equation, the Banach’s fixed point principle and the differential inequality techniques. The authors illustrate with an example to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed findings.

Eocene to Oligocene nannofossils stratigraphy and environmental conditions in Izeh Province, Zagros Basin, East Tethys

Data obtained from the calcareous nannofossils, distributed in the upper part of the Pabdeh Formation(Priabonian–Rupelian) and the lower part of the Asmari Formation(Chattian) in the Bid-Zard section, were used to investigate the Eocene to Oligocene palaeoenvironmental conditions in the southwest of Izeh, southwestern Iran(eastern Tethys). The upper part of the Pabdeh Formation was composed of shale, thin-bedded pelagic limestone and dolostone, which is disconformably overlain by the Asmari Formation. For the first time, 29 species of calcareous nannofossils belonging to 13 genera were identified in the studied section. The calcareous nannofossils in the upper part of the Pabdeh Formation indicate the Isthmolithus recurvus Zone/Sphenolithus pseudoradians Zone(combined zone), Ericsonia subdisticha Zone, Helicosphaera reticulata Zone and Sphenolithus praedistentus Zone,from the Priabonian to the Rupelian. The Sphenolithus ciperoensis Zone of the Chattian was identified in the lower part of the Asmari Formation. Calcareous nannofossil stratigraphy across the upper Eocene–Oligocene interval also reveals a disconformity at the Rupelian/Chattian transition due to a bio-event. Shallowing of the basin and environmental changes in this part of the Tethyan domain could have led to the lithostratigraphic and biostratigraphic changes. In fact, during the late Eocene to late Oligocene, marine phytoplankton was sensitive to climate changes such as decreasing temperature, as well as possibly to a nutrient increase and changes in basin depth.

Developing strategy for rural transformation to alleviate poverty in Pakistan:Stylized facts from panel analysis

Spatio-temporal characteristics of aftershocks and seismogenic structure of the 2011 Mw9.0 Tohoku earthquake,Japan

The Tohoku megathrust earthquake, which occurred on March 11, 2011 and had an epicenter that was 70 km east of Tohoku, Japan, resulted in an estimated ten′s of billions of dollars in damage and a death toll of more than 15 thousand lives, yet few studies have documented key spatio-temporal seismogenic characteristics. Specifically, the temporal decay of aftershock activity, the number of strong aftershocks (with magnitudes greater than or equal to 7.0), the magnitude of the greatest aftershock, and area of possible aftershocks. Forecasted results from this study are based on Gutenberg-Richter’s relation, Bath’s law, Omori’s law, and Well’s relation of rupture scale utilizing the magnitude and statistical parameters of earthquakes in USA and China (Landers, Northridge, Hector Mine, San Simeon and Wenchuan earthquakes). The number of strong aftershocks, the parameters of Gutenberg-Richter’s relation, and the modified form of Omori’s law are confirmed based on the aftershock sequence data from the Mw9.0 Tohoku earthquake. Moreover, for a large earthquake, the seismogenic structure could be a fault, a fault system, or an intersection of several faults. The seismogenic structure of the earthquake suggests that the event occurred on a thrust fault near the Japan trench within the overriding plate that subsequently triggered three or more active faults producing large aftershocks.

There exists various neurological disorder based diseases like tumor,sleep disorder,headache,dementia and *** these,epilepsy is the most common neurological illness in humans,comparable to *** is a severe chronic neurological illness that can be discovered through analysis of the signals generated by brain neurons and brain Magnetic resonance imaging(MRI).Neurons are intricately coupled in order to communicate and generate signals from human *** to the complex nature of electroencephalogram(EEG)signals and MRI’s the epileptic seizures detection and brain related problems diagnosis becomes a challenging *** based techniques and machine learning models are continuously giving their contributions to diagnose all such diseases in a better way than the normal process of *** performancemay sometime degrade due to missing information,selection of poor classification model and unavailability of quality data that are used to train the models for better *** research work is an attempt to epileptic seizures detection by using amulti focus dataset based on EEG signals and *** key steps of this work are:feature extraction having two different streams i.e.,EEGusingwavelet transformation along with SVD-Entropy,and MRI using convolutional neural network(CNN),after extracting features fromboth streams,feature fusion is applied to generate feature vector used by support vector machine(SVM)to diagnose the epileptic *** the experimental evaluation and results comparison with the current state-of-the-art techniques,it has been concluded that the performance of the proposed scheme is better than the existing models.

Beta secretase activity in peripheral nerve regeneration

While the peripheral nervous system has the capacity to regenerate following a nerve injury,it is often at a slow rate and results in unsatisfactory recovery,leaving patients with reduced *** regeneration associated genes have been identified over the years,which may shed some insight into how we can manipulate this intrinsic regenerative ability to enhance repair following peripheral nerve *** lab has identified the membrane bound protease beta-site amyloid precursor protein-cleaving enzyme 1（BACE1）,or beta secretase,as a potential negative regulator of peripheral nerve *** beta secretase activity levels are abolished via a null mutation in mice,peripheral regeneration is enhanced following a sciatic nerve crush ***,when activity levels are greatly increased by overexpressing beta secretase in mice,nerve regeneration and functional recovery are impaired after a sciatic nerve crush *** addition to our work,many substrates of beta secretase have been found to be involved in regulating neurite outgrowth and some have even been identified as regeneration associated *** this review,we set out to discuss BACE1 and its substrates with respect to axonal regeneration and speculate on the possibility of utilizing BACE1 inhibitors to enhance regeneration following acute nerve injury and potential uses in peripheral neuropathies.

In this manuscript, we studied a class of delayed Fuzzy Genetic Regulatory Networks (FGRNs) with Stepanov-like weighted pseudo almost automorphic coefficients. New criteria for the existence, uniqueness and global exponential stability of its weighted pseudo almost automorphic solution are established. Our approach is based on Banach fixed point theorem and novel analysis techniques. Moreover, a numerical example is given to illustrate the validity of the obtained results.
