resource-intensive agricultural simulation applications have increased the need for gridification tools–i.e.,software to transform and scale up the applications using Grid infrastructures–.Previous research has proposed JASAG,a generic gridification tool for agricultural applications,through which the performance of a whole-farm simulation application called Simugan improved ***,JASAG still lacks proper support for efficiently exploiting Grid storage resources,causing significant delays for assembling and summarizing the generated *** this application note,two different data processing techniques in the context of JASAG are presented to tackle this *** was again employed to validate the benefits of these *** using data processing techniques show that the execution time of Simugan was accelerated by a factor of up to 34.34.

Native Langage and School: A Case Study on Ethnic College St...

Ethnic minority students are enrolled in formal education everyday around the world. This study explores the influence of the environment upon the participants’native language use. The concept of practice describes the use of the language in this study;it also surveys the role of native languages in connection with the academic performance. In addition, it inquires about the advantanges and the challenges of studying in a second language for Chinese ethnic minority students in Northeast Normal University. A pilot study was used to test the questions for this study. A bilingual questionnaire in English and Chinese and an interview-focus group were used to collect data;All the information was tape recorded to save the information. The gathering and analysis were guided for three research questions that attempt to show the language used in the university, the role of the native language in the participants field of study and the experience of use a second language as medium of instruction. The findings show that the native language plays an important role in the studies of the participants and it is a mark of identity for them. The study wants to contribute to the literature about ethnic minority students in China and other countries.

Objective:To describe audiological symptoms,audiometric profile,and distortion product otoacoustic emission in symptomatic patients recovering from SArS-CoV-2 infection(positive rT-PCr test)and asymptomatic patients(negative rT-PCr test).Methods:An analytical cross-sectional study was conducted using data obtained from clinical charts,physical examination,audiometry,and distortion product otoacoustic emission on 40 patients[case patients(CP)]recovering from SArS-CoV-2 infection diagnosed by a positive rT-PCr test and 22asymptomatic participants with a negative rT-PCr test[non-case(NC)].results:Sixty-two patients(mean age:31.1 and 28.2 years in the CP and NC groups,respectively)were *** participants were young without significant comorbidities,risk factors for hearing loss or otological ***(5%),tinnitus(17.5%)and aural fullness/hearing loss(35%)were found in the CP group.A statistically significant difference was found in specific frequencies(1000,4000,and 8000 Hz)and pure tone average(low and high conversational frequencies with increased threshold in the PC group compared with the NC group),which was not found in distortion product otoacoustic ***:Audiovestibular symptoms are frequent in symptomatic patients recovering from SArS-CoV-2 ***-CoV-2 infection was consistently associated with an increased audiometric hearing threshold at specific frequencies and low tone average.

Mobile ad-hoc communication is a demonstrated solution to mitigate the impact of infrastructure failures during large-scale disasters. A very complex issue in this domain is the design validation of software applications that support decision-making and communication during natural disasters. Such disasters are irreproducible, highly unpredictable, and impossible to scale down, and thus extensive assessments cannot be led in situ. In this context, simulation constitutes the best approach towards the testing of software solutions for natural disaster responses. The present survey reviews mobility models, ad-hoc network architectures, routing protocols and network simulators. Our aim is to provide guidelines for software developers with regards to the performance evaluation of their applications by means of simulation.

The gain of transcription factor binding sites(TFBS) is believed to represent one of the major causes of biological *** we used strategies based on comparative genomics to identify 21,822 TFBS specific to the human lineage(TFBS-HS),when compared to chimpanzee and gorilla genomes. More than 40%(9,206) of these TFBS-HS are in the vicinity of 1,283 genes.A comparison of the expression pattern of these genes and the corresponding orthologs in chimpanzee and gorilla identified genes differentially expressed in human tissues. These genes show a more divergent expression pattern in the human testis and brain, suggesting a role for positive selection in the fixation of TFBS gains. Genes associated with TFBS-HS were enriched in gene ontology categories related to transcriptional regulation, signaling, differentiation/development and nervous ***, genes associated with TFBS-HS present a higher expression breadth when compared to genes in general. This biased distribution is due to a preferential gain of TFBS in genes with higher expression breadth rather than a shift in the expression pattern after the gain of TFBS.

The longitudinal profile of a river channel can be described in function of mathematical expressions. The logarithmic fit is the most used method to describe the relative equilibrium of a channel elevation profile. rivers showing zones of high channel gradient and convex-upward profiles can be evaluated in function of the offset distance with respect to the logarithmic curve. The Jama river profile has been constructed using differential GPS data for the downstream reach and 4-m-grid DEM data base for the remaining headward profile. The resulting longitudinal profile shows a prominent knickpoint of about 80 m in elevation characterized by sharp local convexity. The offset distance in vertical direction from the logarithmic plot is interpreted as the successive accumulation of multiple uplift episodes associated with the Jama Fault System activity. The horizontal offset is suggested to represent the remaining retreated distance for the upstream propagation of the Jama knickpoint. The highly resistant Cretaceous rocks outcropping along the Jama knickpoint reach acts as an inflection point between two subprofiles that show well-fitted logarithmic curves, thereby representing a temporary partitioned equilibrium along the Jama river profile.
