The gain of transcription factor binding sites(TFBS) is believed to represent one of the major causes of biological *** we used strategies based on comparative genomics to identify 21,822 TFBS specific to the human lineage(TFBS-HS),when compared to chimpanzee and gorilla genomes. More than 40%(9,206) of these TFBS-HS are in the vicinity of 1,283 genes.A comparison of the expression pattern of these genes and the corresponding orthologs in chimpanzee and gorilla identified genes differentially expressed in human tissues. These genes show a more divergent expression pattern in the human testis and brain, suggesting a role for positive selection in the fixation of TFBS gains. Genes associated with TFBS-HS were enriched in gene ontology categories related to transcriptional regulation, signaling, differentiation/development and nervous ***, genes associated with TFBS-HS present a higher expression breadth when compared to genes in general. This biased distribution is due to a preferential gain of TFBS in genes with higher expression breadth rather than a shift in the expression pattern after the gain of TFBS.

In vivo lung perfusion(IVLP)is a novel isolated lung technique developed to enable the local,in situ administration of high-dose chemotherapy to treat metastatic lung *** therapy using folinic acid(FOL),5-fluorouracil(F),and oxaliplatin(OX)(FOLFOX)is routinely employed to treat several types of solid tumours in various ***,F is characterized by large interpatient variability with respect to plasma concentration,which necessitates close monitoring during treatments using of this *** plasma drug concentrations often do not reflect tissue drug concentrations,it is essential to utilize sample-preparation methods specifically suited to monitoring drug levels in target *** this work,in vivo solid-phase microextraction(in vivo SPME)is proposed as an effective tool for quantitative therapeutic drug monitoring of FOLFOX in porcine lungs during pre-clinical IVLP and intravenous(IV)*** concomitant extraction of other endogenous and exogenous small molecules from the lung and their detection via liquid chromatography coupled to high resolution mass spectrometry(LC-HRMS)enabled an assessment of FOLFOX's impact on the metabolomic profile of the lung and revealed the metabolic pathways associated with the route of administration(IVLP ***)and the therapy *** study also shows that the immediate instrumental analysis of metabolomic samples is ideal,as long-term storage at80℃ results in changes in the metabolite content in the sample extracts.

Modelling of shallow landslides with machine learning algorithms

This paper introduces three machine learning(ML)algorithms,the‘ensemble'Random Forest(RF),the‘ensemble'Gradient Boosted Regression Tree(GBRT)and the Multi Layer Perceptron neural network(MLP)and applies them to the spatial modelling of shallow landslides near Kvam in *** the development of the ML models,a total of 11 significant landslide controlling factors were *** controlling factors relate to the geomorphology,geology,geo-environment and anthropogenic effects:slope angle,aspect,plan curvature,profile curvature,flow accumulation,flow direction,distance to rivers,water content,saturation,rainfall and distance to *** is observed that slope angle was the most significant controlling factor in the ML *** performance of the three ML models was evaluated quantitatively based on the Receiver Operating Characteristic(ROC)*** results show that the‘ensemble'GBRT machine learning model yielded the most promising results for the spatial prediction of shallow landslides,with a 95%probability of landslide detection and 87%prediction efficiency.

BACKGROUnD Inflammatory bowel disease(IBD) is a chronic, inflammatory disorder characterised by both intestinal and extra-intestinal pathology. Patients may receive both emergency and elective care from several providers, often in different hospital settings. Poorly managed transitions of care between providers can lead to inefficiencies in care and patient safety issues. To ensure that the sharing of patient information between providers is appropriate, timely, accurate and secure, effective data-sharing infrastructure needs to be developed. To optimise inter-hospital data-sharing for IBD patients, we need to better unde.stand patterns of hospital encounters in this *** To determine the type and location of hospital services accessed by IBD patients in *** was a retrospective observational study using Hospital Episode Statistics, a large administrative patient data set from the.national health Service in *** patients with a diagnosis of IBD following admission to hospital were followed over a 2-year period to determine the proportion of care accessed at the same hospital providing their outpatient IBD care, defined as their ‘home provider'. Secondary outcome measures included the geographic distribution of patient-sharing, regional and age-related differences in accessing services, and type and frequency of outpatient ***95055 patients accessed hospital services on 1760156 occasions over a 2-year follow-up period. The proportion of these encounters with their identified IBD‘home provider' was 73.3%, 87.8% and 83.1% for accident and emergency,inpatient and outpatient encounters respectively. This paper proposes a new method to reduce the dimensionality of input and output spaces in DEA models. The method is based on Yanai’s Generalized Coefficient of Determination and on the concept of pseudo-rank of a matrix. In addition, the paper suggests a rule to determine the cardinality of the subset of selected variables in a way to gain the maximal discretionary power and to suffer a minimal informational loss.

Background Congenital heart diseases(CHD)are the most common type of birth defects,affecting millions of newborns every year;no prevalence data are available in S?o Paulo State,Brazil's most populous *** objective is to identify trends in prevalence and risk factors for CHD in Sao Paulo State,*** We developed a population-based study to estimate the CHD trend of prevalence in recent years,stratified by maternal age and geographical clusters,using all cases of CHD identified by the Live Births Information System(SInASC-Sistema de Informa??o Sobre nascidos Vivos)from January 1,2005,to December 31,*** calculated the trends of prevalence,the regression coefficient(β),the annual percent change(APC),and 95%confidence interval using the Prais-Winsten regression model,with the Durbin-Watson *** We found 10,594 cases of CHD among 8,536,101 live births(LB),a prevalence of 12.4/10,000 *** was no difference in the sex distribution;they are primarily Caucasian(60.2%),75.2%born at term,and 74.4%weight>2500 g,66.9%of births were by cesarean section.S?o Paulo State presented an increasing CHD trend of prevalence(APC=18.9%).The highest CHD prevalence rate was in mothers aged≥35 years(22.2/10,000 LB).There were 12,271 specific congenital heart defects among 10,594 patients(1.16 CHD/patient).Atrial septal defect has the highest number of cases(3835),with a prevalence of 4.49/10,000 LB,corresponding to 31.3%of all *** CHD had an increasing prevalence trend in recent years,being highest in S?o Paulo City and≥35-year mothers.

Periods in the soybean summer cycle that are sensitive to the occurrence of high temperatures were studied. An analysis was performed on the variability of soybean yields associated with crop canopy temperatures during key development periods. A land surface temperature (LST) data series from MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) on the Aqua satellite was processed between 2003 and 2012 that covered the entire state of Rio Grande.do Sul, in Brazil. Enhanced vegetation inde. (EVI) data from MODIS on the Terra satellite were used to monitor the LST during different phenological stages. Spatially interpolated maps of soybean yield distributions were generated using data obtained from Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE) at state and municipality levels. The results indicate that canopy-LST occurrence in mid-February, during the grain filling, is most correlated to yield reduction (R2 = 0.82 and RMSD = 14.4%). At the state level, the average yield is 2003 kg·ha-1 with a standard deviation of 308 kg·ha-1. The overall average of the canopy-LST is 305.0 K (31.8°C) with a standard deviation of 1.9 K. The slope of the downward linear relationship between canopy-LST and yield was -28.7%. These results indicate that monitoring heat wave events can provide important information for characterising agriculture vulnerability.
