Depth Estimation of Geothermal Heat Structures by Euler Deconvolution of Gravity Data at Eburru Area, Kenya

Gravity survey was done at the Eburru area to estimate the source depth locations and delineate the fault boundaries using 3D Euler deconvolution. Gravity data was collected using CG-5 gravimeter. Gravity data reductions were done by applying drift correction, latitude correction, free air correction, Bouguer correction and terrain correction to the observed raw data to obtain complete bouguer anomaly (CBA). The CBA data was transferred to Oasis montaj software for Euler deconvolution processing. The 3D Euler deconvolution was carried out to determine and estimate the depth of the density bodies. Euler deconvolution locates the gravity anomaly source and estimates its depth from the gravity observation level. Euler deconvolution was preferred to other filtering methods in this study as solutions are only determined over identified analytic signal peaks, the window size varies according to anomaly size and the final solution involves only a few more precise depth estimates. The Euler deconvolution was performed using structural indices of 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0. Results from this analysis indicated that the CBA values in this study area range from gravity values of -272 mGal to -286 mGal and residual Bouguer anomaly amplitude range between -3 mGal and 3.4 mGal. The 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0 structural indices generated five solutions at depth range of 433 m - 2269 m, 801 m - 1433 m and 1170 m - 2246 m respectively occurring almost at the same locations on gravity highs. The deep structures were observed to occur in the northern part of the study area, and interpreted to be dense intruding masses likely to be trapped by the overlying cap rock at these depths. These could be geothermal heat sources that can be exploited to generate geothermal energy.

In an asynchronous cooperative editing workflow of a structured document, each of the co-authors receives in the different phases of the editing process, a copy of the document to insert its contribution. For confidentiality reasons, this copy may be only a partial replica containing only parts of the (global) document which are of demonstrated interest for the considered co-author. Note that some parts may be a demonstrated interest over a co-author;they will therefore be accessible concurrently. When it’s synchronization time (e.g. at the end of an asynchronous editing phase of the process), we want to merge all contributions of all authors in a single document. Due to the asynchronism of edition and to the potential existence of the document parts offering concurrent access, conflicts may arise and make partial replicas unmergeable in their entirety: they are inconsistent, meaning that they contain conflictual parts. The purpose of this paper is to propose a merging approach said by consensus of such partial replicas using tree automata. Specifically, from the partial replicas updates, we build a tree automaton that accepts exactly the consensus documents. These documents are the maximum prefixes containing no conflict of partial replicas merged.

The Nyakong-Manyi Shear Zone(NMSZ) is a NE-SW elongated corridor found to the northwest of the Foumban-Bankim Shear Zone(FBSZ) along the Central Cameroon Shear Zone. Controversial chronology models has been proposed for the kinematic evolution of the sinistral and dextral shear phases in the Tikar Plain, thus in the FBSZ;early dextral and late sinistral shear phases for some authors and early sinistral and late dextral shear for others. Moreover, the NMSZ kinematic evolution implication on the mylonitization P-T-t path in the area seem to be problematic and the present paper aim is to clear enough those problems;since this shear zone is the main mylonitic corridor that registered the left and right lateral movement in this area. The NMSZ comprises amphibolites, protomylonites, strict sensus mylonites(garnet-kyanite-sillimanite mylonite and garnet-pyroxene mylonite), ultramylonites kyanite-sillimanite and garnet-kyanite-sillimanite gneiss. Field structures testify that the investigated area recorded three deformation phases:(i) the D1deformation phase which is marked by NW-SE to N-S trending S1metamorphic foliation with low to moderate dips(15°–45°) that was transposed during the D2phase, is responsible for a regional metamorphism whose mineral paragenesis is garnet-kyanite-sillimanite;(ii) the early sinistral NNE-SSW to NE-SW shear phase D2marked by S2metamorphic and mylonitic foliations;responsible for, L2stretching mineral lineation, F2fold axes and B2boudins structures;(iii) the late dextral NE-SW shear phase D3, characterized by F3folds, B3boudins and ductile dextral C3shear planes. Mineral paragenesis garnet + kyanite + sillimanite and microstructures within gneiss testify that this rock underwent high grade regional metamorphism whose peak conditions are estimated at 11.5–13.5 kbar/850–900 ℃. Background: HIV/AIDS Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Benin can use evaluations (including client satisfaction surveys) as tools to improve the effectiveness of their interventions. Objective: It is to identify the dimensions of NGO clients’ satisfaction and their associated factors. Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional survey of 2413 clients receiving both preventive and curative services from 31 NGOs working in HIV/AIDS prevention-screening and providing care to persons living with HIV. Results: We identified four dimensions of satisfaction relevant to our setting: reception and humane attitude, accessibility of care and resources, staff availability and competence and continuity of care. Individual factors [(age positively and gender (men negatively)] statistically significantly influenced global satisfaction and three of its four dimensions but the strength of these associations was too weak. Concerning organizational factors, involvement in evaluation had a negative effect on reception and humane attitude. A local source as principal source of funding was associated with greater satisfaction with accessibility of care and resources, while foreign partners as the principal source of funding were associated with greater satisfaction in terms of both global satisfaction and its dimensions, except for continuity of care. Organizational factors explain from 12.5% to 15.6% of the variance of global satisfaction and its dimensions (except for continuity of care). Conclusion: These information on the global satisfaction and its dimensions as well as the influencing factors are important for NGOs and their partners as these can help them to plan and implement actions to improve performance.

回顾人类漫长的历史,不难发现,科技的每一次重大突破都是随着新的先进材料的进步而实现的。社会文明的快速发展与新材料的出现密切相关。铁性材料是一类具有自发极化状态的材料,包括传统的铁磁性和铁电性,在现代信息产业和数据存储应用中发挥着重要作用。为了满足日益增长的电子产品需求,人们迫切希望实现功耗低、数据密度高、运行速度快的非易失性器件。然而,下一代纳米级信息存储器件的应用对铁性材料提出了更高的要求。在过去十年中,石墨烯的兴起导致了二维(2D)材料研究的爆炸。特别是,低维系统中固有铁磁性和铁电性的出现引起了巨大的关注,为实现具有优异性能的电子设备提供了潜在的平台。为此,本文以二维材料的本征铁电性及其氢杂质污染对其可能的影响为研究内容,结合第一性原理计算和理论分析方法,重点研究了应变对二维材料铁电性质的影响和调控。除上述研究外,通过铁电性质和合适的带隙的评估,一些二维铁电材料已被确定为很有前途的铁电光伏材料。此外,我们还研究了氢杂质对二维材料的影响,找出了它们最稳定的位置、形成能、对自发极化的影响以及电子性质。在第一章中,我们简要回顾了铁电性在纳米尺度上的理论局限和限制。本章重点介绍了在二维系统中发现铁电鲁棒性的最新进展。在本章的最后,总结了本文的研究目标和内容。第二章采用理论研究方法。主题包括第一原理计算基础、密度泛函理论、Berry相方法和VASP计算软件包。在第三章中,我们讨论了单层Ⅳ族单卤代化合物MX材料的面内铁电性。我们证实,与其他2D铁电材料相比,这些单分子膜具有更大的极化。并发现GeS在单分子膜MX中具有最高的面内极化值,因此,可以实现更宽的存储窗口并增强基于FeFET的存储器的保持时间与可以促进纳米铁电器件的应用。而SnSe具有最小的面内极化,这是由于原子类型之间的最小电子亲和力不同。更重要的是,Sn和Se原子之间相对于顺电状态的最小位移。此外,GeSe、GeTe和GeS在压缩应变达到-5%时不会发生转变,因此在器件应用中有很好的性能。在第四章中,我们利用基于密度泛函理论(DFT)的第一性原理方法研究了单分子膜SnTe和SnS中氢杂质的影响。首先,我们研究了H原子和分子在单层SnTe和SnS中的可能稳定位置。有趣的是,我们的结果显示,最稳定的氢构型是在分子中,而不是在单层SnTe和SnS的原子氢系统中。此外,通过研究改性前后单层SnTe和SnS上吸附的氢分子的几何结构、稳定性、电子性质以及对极化的影响,揭示了单层体系中氢分子的吸收特性。研究表明,氢分子以较小的形成能和较长的吸附距离物理吸附在原始单层SnTe和SnS上。此外,结果表明,氢分子对单层SnTe和SnS的极化和电子结构影响不大。在最后一章中,我们总结了本文的主要结论,并提出了可以进一步探索的潜在研究方向,旨在促进基于二维铁电材料的功能器件的实际应用,为材料开发提供新的思路。

Background Passive diagnosis of human African trypanosomiasis(HAT)at the health facility level is a major component of HAT control in *** examined which clinical signs and symptoms are associated with HAT,and assessed the performance of selected clinical presentations,of rapid diagnostic tests(RDT),and of reference laboratory tests on dried blood spots(DBS)for diagnosing HAT in *** The study took place in 14 health facilities in Guinea,where 2345 clinical suspects were tested with RDTs(HAT Sero-K-Set,rHAT Sero-Strip,and SD Bioline HAT).Seropositives underwent parasitological examination(reference test)to confirm HAT and their DBS were tested in indirect enzyme-linked immunoassay(ELISA)/Trypanosoma brucei gambiense,trypanolysis,Loopamp Trypanosoma brucei Detection kit(LAMP)and m18S quantitative PCR(qPCR).Multivariable regression analysis assessed association of clinical presentation with ***,specificity,positive and negative predictive values of key clinical presentations,of the RDTs and of the DBS tests for HAT diagnosis were *** The HAT prevalence,as confirmed parasitologically,was 2.0%(48/2345,95%CI:1.5–2.7%).Odds ratios(OR)for HAT were increased for participants with swollen lymph nodes(OR=96.7,95%CI:20.7–452.0),important weight loss(OR=20.4,95%CI:7.05–58.9),severe itching(OR=45.9,95%CI:7.3–288.7)or motor disorders(OR=4.5,95%CI:0.89–22.5).Presence of at least one of these clinical presentations was 75.6%(95%CI:73.8–77.4%)specific and 97.9%(95%CI:88.9–99.9%)sensitive for *** Sero-K-Set,rHAT Sero-Strip,and SD Bioline HAT were respectively 97.5%(95%CI:96.8–98.1%),99.4%(95%CI:99.0–99.7%)and 97.9%(95%CI:97.2–98.4%)specific,and 100%(95%CI:92.5–100.0%),59.6%(95%CI:44.3–73.3%)and 93.8%(95%CI:82.8–98.7%)sensitive for *** RDT’s positive and negative predictive values ranged from 45.2–66.7%and 99.2–100%*** DBS tests had specificities≥92.9%.While LAMP and m18S qPCR sensitivities were below 50%,trypanolysis and E
