Proteomics analysis of antimalarial targets of Garcinia mangostana Linn.

objective:To investigate possible protein targets for antimalarial activity of Garcina mangostana Linn.(***)(pericarp)in 3D7 Plasmodium falciparum clone using 2-dimensional electrophoresis and liquid chromatography mass-spectrometry(LC/MS/MS).Methods:3D7 Plasmodium falciparum was exposed to the crude ethanolic extract of *** Linn.(pericarp)at the concentrations of 12μg/mL(1C_(50)level:concentration that inhibits parasite growth by 50%)and 30μg/mL(1C_(90)level:concentration that inhibits parasite growth by 90%)for 12 *** proteins were separated by 2-dimensional electrophoresis and identified by LC/MS/***:At the IC_(50)concentration,about 82%of the expressed parasite proteins were matched with the control(non-exposed),while at the IC_(90)concentration,only 15%matched proteins were *** selected protein spots from parasite exposed to the plant extract at the concentration of 12μg/mL were identified as eneymes that play role in glycolysis pathway,i.e.,phosphoglyeerate mutase putative,L-lactate dehydrogenase/glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase,and fruetose-bisphosphate aldolase/phosphoglyeerate *** proteosome was found in parasite exposed to 30μg/mL of the ***:Results suggest that proteins involved in the glycolysis pathway may be the targets for antimalarial activity of *** Linn.(pericarp).

Rainwater harvesting RWH has yet to see significant uptake in UK households primarily due to a lack of innovation in residential RWH system *** ppa er presents the results of per liminary investigations into a range of traditional and innovative residential-scale RWH systems. These systems are examined using a patent application search informal interviews with industry professionals cost-benefit analysis and a simple multi criteria analysis MCA .The latter examines the sustainability of the systems based on a priori social economic and ne vironmenat l *** of the innovative systems are subject to a more detailed analysis and benchmarked agains ta rt aditional *** of the MCA indicate that the innovative RWH systems achieve better sustainability scores than the traditional RWH with a lower capital *** research is focused on monitoring the identified systems to generate empir cal datasets in order to undertake the WLC/LCAs and to identify challenges associated with installation.

Multiple sclerosis（MS） is characterized by chronic inflammation in conjunction with neurodegeneration within the central nervous system. Most individuals with MS begin with a relapsing remitting course that later transitions to secondary progressive MS. Currently available disease-modifying therapies（DMTs） for relapsing MS have been demonstrated to reduce disease activity, however most patients require a change in therapy over the course of their disease. Treatment goals include the prevention of relapses and disability accumulation and to achieve this objective requires careful planning. Sequencing of DMTs for individual patients should be designed in such a way to maximize disease control and minimize risk based on the mechanism of action, pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties of each therapy. This includes the DMT patients are being switched from to those they are being switched to. The reversibility of immune system effects should be a key consideration for DMT sequence selection. This feature varies across DMTs and should factor more prominently in decision making as newer treatments become available for the prevention of disability accumulation in patients with progressive MS. In this short review, we discuss the landscape of existing therapies with an eye to the future when planning for optimal DMT sequencing. While no cure exists for MS, efforts are being directed toward research in neuroregeneration with the hope for positive outcomes.

Inter-related and spatially variable climate change factors including sea level rise,increased storminess,altered precipitation regime and increasing temperature are impacting mangroves at re-gional *** review highlights extreme regional variation in climate change threats and impacts,and how these factors impact the structure of mangrove communities,their biodiversity and geo-morphological *** these factors interplay to determine spatially variable resiliency to climate change impacts,and because mangroves are varied in type and geographical location,these systems are good models for understanding such interactions at different *** level rise is likely to in-fluence mangroves in all regions although local impacts are likely to be more *** in the frequency and intensity of storminess are likely to have a greater impact on N and Central America,Asia,Australia,and East Africa than West Africa and *** review also highlights the nu-merous geographical knowledge gaps of climate change impacts,with some regions particularly understudied(e.g.,Africa and the Middle East).While there has been a recent drive to address these knowledge gaps especially in South America and Asia,further research is required to allow research-ers to tease apart the processes that influence both vulnerability and resilience to climate change.A more globally representative view of mangroves would allow us to better understand the importance of mangrove type and landscape setting in determining system resiliency to future climate change.

In,this paper, we propose a new antenna diversity scheme for oFDM-based wireless communication and digital broadcasting applications. Compared with existing schemes, such as post-fast Fourier transform （FFT）, pre-FFT, and polyphase-based fitter-bank, the proposed scheme performs optimally and has very low computational complexity. It offers a better compromise between performance, power consumption, and complexity in real-time implementation of the receivers of broadband communication and digital broadcasting systems.

Effective technology for wind direction forecasting can be realized using the recent advances in machine ***,the stability and safety of power systems are expected to be significantly ***,the unstable and unpredictable qualities of the wind predict the wind direction a challenging *** paper proposes a practical forecasting approach based on the weighted ensemble of machine learning *** weighted ensemble is optimized using a whale optimization algorithm guided by particle swarm optimization(PSo-Guided WoA).The proposed optimized weighted ensemble predicts the wind direction given a set of input *** conducted experiments employed the wind power forecasting dataset,freely available on Kaggle and developed to predict the regular power generation at seven wind farms over forty-eight *** recorded results of the conducted experiments emphasize the effectiveness of the proposed ensemble in achieving accurate predictions of the wind *** addition,a comparison is established between the proposed optimized ensemble and other competing optimized ensembles to prove its ***,statistical analysis using one-way analysis of variance(ANoVA)and Wilcoxon’s rank-sum are provided based on the recorded results to confirm the excellent accuracy achieved by the proposed optimized weighted ensemble.

Liver biopsy evaluation plays a critical role in management of patients with viral hepatitis C. In patients with acute viral hepatitis, a liver biopsy, though uncommonly performed, helps to rule out other nonviral causes of deranged liver function. In chronic viral hepatitis C, it is considered the gold standard in assessment of the degree of necroinflammation and the stage of fibrosis, to help guide treatment and determine prognosis. It also helps rule out any concomitant diseases such as steatohepatitis, hemochromatosis or others. In patients with chronic progressive liver disease with cirrhosis and dominant nodules, a targeted liver biopsy is helpful in differentiating a regenerative nodule from dysplastic nodule or hepatocellular carcinoma. In the setting of transplantation, the liver biopsy helps distinguish recurrent hepatitis C from acute rejection and also is invaluable in the diagnosis of fibrosing cholestatic hepatitis, a rare variant of recurrent hepatitis C. This comprehensive review discusses the entire spectrum of pathologic findings in the course of hepatitis C infection.

Although there is a growing interest in developing asymmetric 1,6-addition reactions of carbon nucleo-philes to Michael acceptors,the corresponding 1,6-addition of homoenolates remains an unsolved ***,the N-heterocyclic carbene(NHC)-catalyzed cycloadditions of homoenolate equivalent intermediates have achieved widespread ***,considerable limitations still exist for the linear reactions with electron-deficient alkenes,which are limited to 1,4-Michael *** report presents the first NHC-catalyzed asym-metric homoenolate addition of enals to 1,6-Michael *** strategy leads to the challenging nonspirocyclic 3,3-disubstituted oxindoles with two adjacent stereocenters,a quaternary and a trisubsti-tuted one,in good yields and high stereoselectivities with a wide variety of substrates.
