There is currently no treatment for effectively slowing the progression of Alzheimer＇s disease, so early prevention is very important. Numerous studies have shown that flavonoids can improve memory impairment. The present study investigated the effects of myricetin, a member of the flavonoids, on intracerebroventricular streptozotocin induced neuronal loss and memory impairment in rat models of Alzheimer＇s disease. Myricetin at 5 or 10 mg/kg was intraperitoneally injected into rats over 21 days. Control rats were treated with 10 m L/kg saline. Behavioral test（the shuttle box test） was performed on day 22 to examine learning and memory in rats. Immediately after that, hematoxylin-eosin staining was performed to observe the morphological change in hippocampal CA3 pyramidal neurons. Myricetin greatly increased the number of hippocampal CA3 pyramidal neurons and improved learning and memory impairments in rats with Alzheimer＇s disease. These findings suggest that myricetin is beneficial for treatment of Alzheimer＇s disease.

Wide bandgap(WBG)semiconductors,such as silicon carbide(SiC)and gallium nitride(GaN),exhibit superior physical properties and demonstrate great potential for replacing conventional silicon(Si)semiconductors with WBG technology,pushing the boundaries of power devices to handle higher blocking voltages,switching frequencies,output power levels,and operating ***,tradeoffs in switching performance and converter efficiency when substituting GaN devices for Si and SiC counterparts are not well-defined,especially in a cascode *** research with further detailed investigation and analysis is necessitated for medium-voltage GaN devices in power converter ***,the aim of this research is to experimentally investigate the impact of emerging 650/900 V cascode GaN devices on bidirectional dc-dc converters that are suitable for energy storage and distributed renewable energy *** characteristics of Si,SiC,and cascode GaN power devices are examined through the double-pulse test(DPT)circuit at different gate resistance values,device currents,and DC bus ***,the switching behavior and energy loss as well as the rate of voltage and current changes over the time are studied and analyzed at various operating conditions.A 500 W experimental converter prototype is implemented to validate the benefits of cascode GaN devices on the converter operation and *** analysis of the power losses and efficiency improvements for Si-based,SiC-based,and GaN-based converters are performed and evaluated as the switching frequency,working temperature,and output power level are *** experimental results reveal significant improvements in switching performance and energy efficiency from the emerging cascode GaN devices in the bidirectional converters.

In the current study, the hybrid effect of a corona discharge and γ-alumina supported Ni catalysts in CO2 reforming of methane is investigated. The study includes both purely catalytic operation in the temperature range of 923-1023 K, and hybrid catalytic-plasma operation of DC corona discharge reactor at room temperature and ambient pressure. The effect of feed flow rate, discharge power and Ni/γ-Al2O3 catalysts are studied. When CH4/CO2 ratio in the feed is 1/2, the syngas of low Ha/CO ratio at about 0.56 is obtained, which is a potential feedstock for synthesis of liquid hydrocarbons. Although Ni catalyst is only active above 573 K, presence of Ni catalysts in the cold corona plasma reactor （T≤523 K） shows promising increase in the conversions of methane and carbon dioxide. When Ni catalysts are used in the plasma reaction, H2/CO ratios in the products are slightly modified, selectivity to CO increases whereas fewer by-products such as hydrocarbons and oxygenates are formed.

In this paper five equations of state are tested for checking their ability to predict the Joule-Thomson inversion *** five equations of state are:Mohsennia-Modarres-Mansoori(MMM),Ji-Lemp(JL),modified Soave-Redlich-Kwang(SRK)equation of state by Graboski(MSRK1),modified SRK equation of state by Peneloux and Rauzy(MSRK2),and modified Peng-Robinson (PR)equation of state by Rauzy(PRmr).The investigated equations of state give good prediction of the low-temperature branch of the inversion curve,except for MMM equation of *** high-temperature branch and the peak of the inversion curve have been observed,in general,to be sensitive to the applied equation of *** values of the maximum inversion temperature and maximum inversion pressure are calculated for each component used in this work.

We report a unique case of a patient who underwent cystectomy with ileal conduit for nonmalignant bladder *** postoperatively developed stomal necrosis which was managed conservatively but after few months there was severe stomal stenosis and retraction and patient ended up with bilateral *** planned open abdominal exploration with intention to refashion stoma,after resection of distal stenosed segment we found that it was impossible to mobilize proximal portion of conduit due to severe small bowel *** used a unique approach of creating one more ileal conduit,bringing it as a new stoma on one side and anastomosing its other side with proximal one(ileal conduit over conduit)to augment deficient *** technique is not mentioned in the literature and as such we are reporting same as it can help many urologists who may encounter such problems.

In the present article,the effect of Rare Earth elements on the microstructural development and mechanical properties of as cast and age treated Mg-4Al-2Sn(AT42)alloy is *** has been conducted by optical and scanning electron microscope,XRD and tensile *** of the data showed that alloy’s dendrites turn into larger dendritic structure with sharp and narrow arms from equiaxed rosette type by addition of RE *** contrast to the base alloy,aging treatment shows a positive effect on the mechanical properties(yield strength,tensile strength and elongation)of AT42+1RE alloy mainly because of retention of the thermally stable RE containing intermetallics as strong barriers to grain ***,increase of solute aluminum due to the decomposition of Mg 17 Al 12 along with saturated RE elements led to formation of blocky shape Al 2 RE in the microstructure during aging which enhanced the mechanical *** was found that the best result(yield of 70 MPa,tensile strength of 168 MPa and elongation of 14%)could be achieved by aging the AT42+1RE alloy at 443 K(170℃)for 8 ***,mechanical properties of AT42+1RE alloy starts to decrease after exceeding its optimum aging conditions due to the coarsening of intermetallics.

A comparative study on using meta-heuristic algorithms for road maintenance planning:Insights from field study in a developing country

Optimized road maintenance planning seeks for solutions that can minimize the life-cycle cost of a road network and concurrently maximize pavement condition. Aiming at pro- posing an optimal set of road maintenance solutions, robust meta-heuristic algorithms are used in research. Two main optimization techniques are applied including single-objective and multi-objective optimization. Genetic algorithms （GA）, particle swarm optimization （PSO）, and combination of genetic algorithm and particle swarm optimization （GAPSO） as single-objective techniques are used, while the non-domination sorting genetic algorithm II （NSGAII） and multi-objective particle swarm optimization （MOPSO） which are sufficient for solving computationally complex large-size optimization problems as multi-objective techniques are applied and compared. A real case study from the rural transportation network of Iran is employed to illustrate the sufficiency of the optimum algorithm. The formulation of the optimization model is carried out in such a way that a cost-effective maintenance strategy is reached by preserving the performance level of the road network at a desirable level. So, the objective functions are pavement performance maximization and maintenance cost minimization. It is concluded that multi-objective algorithms including non-domination sorting genetic algorithm II （NSGAII） and multi-objective particle swarm optimization performed better than the single objective algorithms due to the capability to balance between both objectives. And between multi-objective algorithms the NSGAII provides the optimum solution for the road maintenance planning.
