Host associated probiotics(HAPs)provide health benefits to the host when administered as dietary ***,a short-term probiotics application strategy has yet to be optimized.A 90-days study was conducted to evaluate the response of Malaysian mahseer,tor tambroides post larvae fed with basal diet enriched HAPs for 30-days,and its response following another 60-days feeding with only basal *** experimental diets(Enterococcus faecalis strain 2674(t1),Aeromonas *** A8-29(t2)and *** strain FC11682(t3))were prepared by spray-coating each HAPs on a basal diet at 1×108 CFU/g *** in growth performances,whole-body proximate and fatty acid composition,muscle morphometry,and gut morphology were *** showed that after 30 days,t3 fish produced highest *** HAP treatment groups showed better muscle distribution profile,improved fatty acid composition,and higher villus length,width and area,than control *** 90 days,the growth of t3 fish was still the *** distribution profile and villus growth were higher in HAP treatments,although only total n-6 PUFA,total MUFA,linoleic acids,and linolenic acids in HAP treated fish remained high after probiotics *** difference in whole-body proximate composition was observed in both 30 and 90 *** findings demonstrated that short-term application of HAPs at an early stage could be used to boost *** growth,with *** strain FC11682 showing the best efficacy.

Background the nationally determined contribution（NDC） presented by Argentina within the framework of the Paris Agreement is aligned with the decisions made in the context of the United Nations Framework Conven-tion on Climate Change（UNFCCC） on the reduction of emissions derived from deforestation and forest degradation, as well as forest carbon conservation（REDD+）. In addition, climate change constitutes one of the greatest threats to forest biodiversity and ecosystem services. However, the soil organic carbon（SOC） stocks of native forests have not been incorporated into the Forest Reference Emission Levels calculations and for conservation planning under cli-mate variability due to a lack of information. the objectives of this study were:（i） to model SOC stocks to 30 cm of native forests at a national scale using climatic, topographic and vegetation as predictor variables, and（ii） to relate SOC stocks with spatial–temporal remotely sensed indices to determine biodiversity conservation concerns due to threats from high inter-annual climate *** We used 1040 forest soil samples（0–30 cm） to generate spatially explicit estimates of SOC native forests in Argentina at a spatial resolution of approximately 200 m. We selected 52 potential predictive environmental covari-ates, which represent key factors for the spatial distribution of SOC. All covariate maps were uploaded to the Google Earth Engine cloud-based computing platform for subsequent modelling. to determine the biodiversity threats from high inter-annual climate variability, we employed the spatial–temporal satellite-derived indices based on Enhanced Vegetation Index（EVI） and land surface temperature（LSt） images from Landsat *** SOC model（0–30 cm depth） prediction accounted for 69% of the variation of this soil property across the whole native forest coverage in Argentina. total mean SOC stock reached 2.81 Pg C（2.71–2.84 Pg C with a probability of 90%） for a total area of 460,790 km2,

Determination of teicoplanin A2's Partition Coefficient in Different Liquid-Liquid Extraction Systems

In this work the partition coefficients and extraction ratio of teicoplanin in three different solvent systems were studied: conventional extraction reactive extraction and reverse micelle extraction. With conventional solvent extraction n-butanol demonstrated high partition coefficient for teicoplanin but low extraction ratio because of its high solubility in water. Reactive extraction of teicoplanin showed the highest partition coefficient with almost 100% recovery in organic phase when tri-n-octylmethyl ammonium chloride (TOMAC) was used as extractant and pH value was above 5.0. A reverse micelle system consisted of isooctane +10mmol-L-1 TOMAC +1% n-octanol also offered high separation factor for teicoplanin. The results are beneficial for the design of teicoplanin separation and purification process.

Effects of firewood harvesting intensity on biodiversity and ecosystem services in shrublands of northern Patagonia

Background: Forest management has historically focused on provisioning of goods (e.g. timber, biomass), butthere is an increasing interest to manage forests also to maintain biodiversity and to provide other ecosystemservices (ES).Methods: We evaluated the effects of firewood harvesting intensity on biodiversity and different ES in threecontrasting shrubland sites in northern Patagonia (Argentina). At each site, four harvesting treatments, representingvarious levels of harvest intensity, were randomly assigned to eight permanent sample plots of 31.5m× 45 mduring 2013–***: We found that the effects of increasing harvesting intensity on plant diversity changed from negative topositive (and from nonlinear to more linear responses) with increasing site productivity. Harvesting intensityshowed contrasting effects on variables related to fire protection ecosystem service, since it reduced fuel amount(potentially reducing fire spread) but also reduced live fuel moisture content (potentially increasing flammability) atthe three sites. two variables related to soil formation and protection ES, leaf litter cover and aerial soil cover,decreased with harvesting intensity at the three ***: We conclude that shrubland management for firewood production may enhance biodiversity withoutcompromising certain important ES. the intensity of harvesting should be determined according to site conditionsand forecasted impacts on biodiversity, fire and soil formation and protection.

the hydrologic simulation of a catchment area, described as the transformation of rainfall into runoff, generally uses hydrologic model. this work opts for the global conceptual hydrologic model GR2M, a monthly time step model, to study the Kouilou-Niari basin, the second most important ones of the Republic of Congo. this includes two parameters to model the hydrologic behavior of a catchment area. the choice of the conceptual model GR2M is justified by the reduced number of parameters and the monthly time scale. the objective of this study is to determine the characteristic parameters of the GR2M model, by a calibrating and a validating procedure. the use of these parameters enables to follow the evolution of the water resources from the climatic variables. It has been first carried out a characterization of some physical, geological and climatic factors governing the flow, by dealing with the main climatic variables which constitute the inputs of the hydrologic model. then, a hydrologic rainfall-runoff modeling allows to calibrate and validate the model at monthly time scale. taking into account the number of parameters involved in hydrologic processes and the complexity of the cathment area, this model gives acceptable results throughout the Kouilou-Niari basin. the values of the Nash-Sutcliffe criterion and those of the correlation coefficient obtained are greater than 80% in validation, which explains the performance and robustness of the GR2M model on this basin.

AIM: to elucidate the cardioprotective effects of t-type calcium channel blocker mibefradil and compare with that of the angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor ramipril in a stroke-prone spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR- SP) model of congestive heart failure (CHF) after myocardial infarction (MI). MEtHODS: SHR-SP rats were subjected to permanent ligation of the left anterior decending coronary artery. treatment with mibefradil (10 mg·kg-1·d-1), ramipril (10 mg·kg-1·d-1), or placebo was initiated 4 weeks before surgery and continued up to 6 weeks after induction of MI. Sham-operated rats served as controls. RESULtS: In placebo-treated MI rats, six weeks after MI, left ventricular circumference, inner diameter, and left ventricular end-diastolic pressure (LVEDP) were increased, whereas mean arterial blood pressure (MAP) and maximum rate of rise of left ventricular pressure (dp/ dtmax) were decreased compared with sham-operated controls (Ptreated MI rats, heart weight, heart weight to body weight ratio and interstitial collagen content were reduced (Ptly decreased (P>05), and dp/dtmax was improved (Pth placebo-treated MI rats. In contrast, in mibefradil-treated MI rats, heart weight, heart weight to body weight ratio were slightly but not signifi- cantly reduced, LVEDP was slightly elevated compared with placebo-treated MI rats, and was elevated (Pth ramipril-treated MI rats, although interstitial collagen content were reduced (Pth placebo-treated MI ***: Chronic treatment with ramipril diminishes cardiac remodeling of heart failure after MI to a greater extent than mibefradil.
