Over the last years,the existence of different stem cells with myogenic potential has been widely ***-sides the classical skeletal muscle progenitors represented by satellite cells,numerous multipotent and embryologi-cally unrelated progenitors with a potential role in muscle differentiation and repair have been *** order to conceive a therapeutic approach for degenerative muscle disorders,it is of primary importance to identify an ideal stem cell endowed with all the features for a possible use in *** all emerging populations,vessel-associated stem cells are a novel and promising class of multipotent progenitors of mesodermal origin and with high myogenic potential which seem to best fit all the requirements for a possible cell *** vitro and in vivo studies have already tested the effectiveness and safety of vessel-associated stem cells in animal *** leads to the concrete possibility in the future to start pilot human clinical trials,hopefully opening the way to a turn-ing point in the treatment of genetic and acquired muscle disorders.

Colorectal cancer(CRC) development represents a multistep process starting with specific mutations that affect proto-oncogenes and tumour suppressor *** mutations confer a selective growth advantage to colonic epithelial cells that form first dysplastic crypts, and then malignant tumours and metastases. All these steps are accompanied by deep mechanical changes at the cellular and the tissue level. A growing consensus is emerging that such modifications are not merely a byproduct of the malignant progression, but they could play a relevant role in the cancer onset and accelerate its progression. In this review, we focus on recent studies investigating the role of the biomechanical signals in the initiation and the development of CRC. We show that mechanical cues might contribute to early phases of the tumour initiation by controlling the Wnt pathway, one of most important regulators of cell proliferation in various systems. We highlight how physical stimuli may be involved in the differentiation of non-invasive cells into metastatic variants and how metastatic cells modify their mechanical properties, both stiffness and adhesion, to survive the mechanical stress associated with intravasation, circulation and extravasation. A deep comprehension of these mechanical modifications may help scientist to define novel molecular targets for the cure of CRC.

Effect of dietary arginine to lysine ratios on productive performance,meat quality,plasma and muscle metabolomics profile in fast-growing broiler chickens

Background: Due to the important functions of arginine in poultry,it should be questioned whether the currently adopted dietary Arg:Lys ratios are sufficient to meet the modern broiler requirement in *** present study aimed,therefore,to evaluate the effects of the dietary supplementation of L-arginine in a commercial broiler diet on productive performance,breast meat quality attributes,incidence and severity of breast muscle myopathies and foot pad dermatitis(FPD),and plasma and muscle metabolomics profile in fast-growing ***: A total of 1,170 1-day-old Ross 308 male chicks was divided into two experimental groups of 9 replicates each fed either a commercial basal diet(CON,digestible Arg:Lys ratio of 1.05,1.05,1.06 and 1.07 in each feeding phase,respectively) or the same basal diet supplemented on-top with crystalline L-arginine(ARG,digestible Arg:Lys ratio of 1.15,1.15,1.16 and 1.17,respectively).Productive parameters were determined at the end of each feeding phase(12,22,33,43 d).At slaughter(43 d),incidence and severity of FPD and breast myopathies were assessed,while plasma and breast muscle samples were collected and analyzed by proton nuclear magnetic *** dietary supplementation of arginine significantly reduced cumulative feed conversion ratio compared to the control diet at 12 d(1.352 vs.1.401,P < 0.05),22 d(1.398 vs.1.420; P < 0.01) and 33 d(1.494 vs.1.524; P < 0.05),and also tended to improve it in the overall period of trial(1.646 vs.1.675; P = 0.09).Body weight was significantly increased in ARG compared to CON group at 33 d(1,884 vs.1,829 g; P < 0.05).No significant effect was observed on meat quality attributes,breast myopathies and FPD *** birds showed significantly higher plasma concentration of arginine and leucine,and lower of acetoacetate,glutamate,adenosine and *** and acetate concentrations were higher,whereas acetone and inosine levels were lower in the breast of ARG birds(P <

We present the case of a young woman corrected with a Mustard procedure undergoing successful transvenous double chamber pacemaker implantation with the atrial lead placed in the systemic venous channel. The case presented demonstrates that, when the systemic venous atrium is separate from the left atrial appendage, the lead can be easily and safely placed in the systemic venous left atrium gaining satisfactory sensing and pacing thresholds despite consisting partially of pericardial tissue.

To the Editor：Airway management is a crucial skill for emergency physician, who＇s often called to deal with difficult airways and requests for quick, simple and effective responses, as the many factors responsible for difficulties might be enhanced by emergency setting.[1] We now have many rescue devices as the LMA, I-gel, but they do not provide a definitive airway, and recent studies evaluating the use of the videolaryngoscopes in emergency show conflicting results.
