This research explains academic achievement based on the personality characteristics, the psycho-social climate of the classroom in terms of academic engagement in mathematics. The population was high schoolboys and girls in Damghan city in Iran. Participants were randomly selected using a multi-stage cluster method (513 boys and girls) and they simultaneously completed three questionnaires: academic engagement, the psycho-social climate of the classroom and personality characteristics. Path analysis was used to analyze data. The results showed that the direct effects of personality characteristics and psycho-social climate of the classroom on academic achievement were not significant. The direct effects of openness, conscientiousness and psycho-social climate of classroom on academic engagement were significant. The indirect effects (with mediation of academic engagement) and overall effects of openness, conscientiousness and psycho-social climate of classroom on academic achievement were significant, also the effect of academic engagement on academic achievement was significant.

Objective: To determine the diversity of sand flies in different biotopes of mountainous and plain areas of Bam County as the most infected focus of anthroponotic cutaneous leishmaniasis in southeast Iran, and synanthropic index of Phlebotomus sergenti Parrot, and Phlebotomus papatasi Scopoli as the main vectors of cutaneous leishmaniasis in ***: Sand flies were captured once a month using sticky traps in domestic, peri-domestic, agricultural, and sylvatic biotopes in the plain and mountainous areas. Alpha diversity indices, including richness, evenness, Shannon-Wiener;beta diversity indices(Jaccard’s and Sorensen’s similarity indices) and synanthropic index were calculated. Results: A total of 2 664 specimens of 9 sand fly species were collected from mountainous(47%) and plain(53%) areas. Species richness, species evenness, and Shannon-Wiener indices were obtained as 9, 0.637, and 1.399, respectively in the mountainous area. Phlebotomus sergenti and Phlebotomus papatasi were constant species with the synanthropic index of-18.463 and-29.412, respectively. In addition, species richness, species evenness, and Shannon-Wiener indices were 4, 0.690, and 0.956, respectively in the plain area. Phlebotomus sergenti and Phlebotomus papatasi were dominant species with the synanthropic index of +9.695 and +36.207, respectively. Similarity indices were low among different biotopes of plain and mountainous ***: A basic knowledge about the diversity of sand flies in various biotopes is essential to design sound control programs. Biodiversity and synanthropic indices of sand flies are different in plain and mountainous areas due to the difference in biotic and abiotic factors between the two areas.

Papillon-Lefevre syndrome (PLS) is a rare recessive autosomal disease which occurs with palms and soles hyperkeratosis as well as primary and permanent teeth periodontal loss. Recently, it has been proved that a mutation at Cathepsin gene C is the genetic cause of PLS. All primary and permanent teeth of the patients are lost at ages 2 or 3 because of serious alveolar bone destruction. This paper presents a complete case of prosthetic treatment of an 8-year old girl with PLS.

Objectives:Although many studies have suggested the anticancer properties of Galium verum,there is still no accurate information regarding its side effects on normal ***,this study aimed to investigate the dual effects of the whole Galium verummethanolic extract on the normal human fibroblast cell line(AGO)cell line at different ***:The cell line was randomly divided into a control group and groups exposed to concentrations of 12.5 to 400μg/*** was performed by the maceration *** addition,the 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazoliumbromide(MTT)method was applied to measure cytotoxicity and flow ***,BCL2 associated X(BAX)andB-cell lymphoma 2(BCL2)genes were expressed by the real-time polymerase chain reaction to evaluate apoptosis and reactive oxygen species(ROS).Finally,data were compared between groups using a one-way analysis of ***:A significant reduction was observed in the cell viability of 90%at a concentration of 400μg/mL compared to the *** comparison,a significant increase was reported in cell viability at concentrations of 25-200μg/mL(P<0.0001).Furthermore,there was a significant 2.87-time increase in apoptosis compared to the control group(P<0.0001),but no significant differences were reported in cellular *** increased significantly by 5.7 times(P<0.05),and a significant 80-fold increase was found in the BAX/BCL2gene ratio(P<0.05).Conclusion:The whole methanolic extract could lower the viability of human fibroblasts at 400μg/mL and more by increasing apoptosis,thereby increasing BAX/BCL2gene expression and ROS ***,the extract exerted an increased effect on cell viability in a concentration-dependent manner on AGO and increased cell growth at concentrations less than 400μg/mL,highlighting different effects of the whole extract on the AGO cell line.

Background: The global incidence of STIs is rising. It is estimated that 499 million new cases of curable STIs occur every year. The existence of more than one million reported cases of STIs annually in Iran shows that addressing this issue must be a priority for Iranian health authorities. While recognition of the importance of gender issues to reproductive health (RH) programs has grown significantly in the past several years, major challenges remain in implementing gender-sensitive programs. Gender mainstreaming in Iranian reproductive health program is a relatively new issue, so this study aims to explore gender sensitive STIs/HIV/AIDS prevention policies. Method: This study employed a qualitative research design. Participants were health managers, health policy makers and reproductive health providers. They were selected purposefully and then continued by snowball sampling method. 43 semi-structured in-depth interviews with 37 key informants were done. All the interviews were recorded and transcribed. The data were analyzed by content analysis method. Trustworthiness of the data was achieved by using credibility, trans-ferability and conformability. Results: Key informants clearly explained the gender sensitive STIs/ HIV/AIDS prevention policies in three main categories: 1) advocacy, 2) collaboration between different sectors and 3) community empowerment to gender sensitive STIs/HIV/AIDS prevention programs. Conclusion: Changing gender neural STIs/HIV/AIDS prevention policy to more complete gender sensitive policy needs advocacy, collaboration of sectors and community empowerment.

Background:Rubiadin is a type of anthraquinone compound that can be found in Rubiaceae plants,such as ***,only limited research has been done to explore the potential anticancer properties of rubiadin on liver cancer ***,the objective of the present study is to examine how rubiadin affects the viability of liver cancer cells as well as normal ***:HepG2 and AGO cell lines were assigned into controls(not exposed to rubiadin)and groups with exposure to rubiadin with 12.5,6.25,3.125,1.56,0.78,and 0.39μg/mL concentrations.3-(4,5)-dimethylthiahiazo(-z-y1)-3,5-diphenytetrazoliumromide and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction were used to measure cell viability,and one-way analysis of variance was used for data ***:The viability of liver cancer cells was significantly reduced when exposed to 12.5,6.25,3.125,and 1.56μg/mL concentrations(P<0.01).An IC50 of 44.73μg/mL was ***,the BAX gene’s relative expression(P<0.05)was significantly increased and the BCL2 gene expression(P<0.05)was significantly *** average ratio of BAX gene expression to BCL2 increased significantly(P<0.01).Conclusion:This research showed that rubiadin decreases cell viability by increasing the ratio of BAX gene expression to *** addition rubiadin has no cytotoxic effect on normal cells.

采用电化学测试研究了S32750超级双相不锈钢在3.5%Na Cl溶液中的临界点蚀温度(CPT)及电化学腐蚀机理,结合试样点蚀前后的形貌变化,得出S32750不锈钢的临界点蚀温度为71℃。在低于临界点蚀温度时,不锈钢表面能形成稳定的钝化膜;高于临界点蚀温度时,由于Cl-的活性增加及钝化膜的溶解,不锈钢表面产生点蚀现象,且温度越高,点蚀越剧烈。构建了双相不锈钢S32750临界点蚀温度前后的电化学腐蚀模型。
