Indium oxide （In2O3） thin films are successfully times by an ultrasonic spray technique using Indium chloride deposited on glass substrate at different deposition as the precursor solution; the physical properties of these films are characterized by XRD, SEM, and UV-visible. XRD analysis showed that the films are polycrys- talline in nature having a cubic crystal structure and symmetry space group Ia3 with a preferred grain orientation along the （222） plane when the deposition time changes from 4 to 10 min, but when the deposition time equals 13 min we found that the majority of grains preferred the （400） plane. The surface morphology of the In2O3 thin films revealed that the shape of grains changes with the change of the preferential growth orientation. The trans- mittance improvement of In2O3 films was closely related to the good crystalline quality of the films. The optical gap energy is found to increase from 3.46 to 3.79 eV with the increasing of deposition time from 4 to 13 min. The film thickness was varied between 395 and 725 nm. The film grown at 13 min is found to exhibit low resistivity （10-2 Ω.cm）, and relatively high transmittance （- 93%）.

Two new diterpenoids, named isodoternifolins A(1) and B(2), together with seven known compounds were isolated from the ethanol extract of dried stems and leaves of Isodon ternifolius (D. Don) Kudo. The structures of 1 and 2 were determined as 7 beta-hydroxy-6 beta,11 alpha,15 beta-triacetoxy-7 alpha, 20-epoxy-entkaur-16-ene and 6 beta,7 beta,15 beta-trihydroxy-11 alpha-acetoxy-7 alpha,20-epoxy-entkaur-16-ene by chemical and spectral evidence respectively.

Chronic gastritis ( CG ) and peptic ulcer ( PU ) are frequently-occurring diseases. It is now well recognized that helicobacter pylori (hp) is a major factor that leads to CG and PU[1-8] In order to study the relationship among T lymphocyte subsets, NO, hexosamine and hp infection in patients with chronic gastric diseases, the levelsof blood T lymphocyte subsets, plasma NO and hexosamine in gastric mucosa were measured respectively in 30 patients with CG and 32 patients of PU + CG.

Laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy: a descriptive and comparative review

Laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy（LPD） is an extremely challenging surgery. First described in 1994, it has been slow to gain in popularity. Recently, however, we have seen an increase in the number of centers performing this operation, including our own institution, as well as an increase in the quantity of published data. The purpose of this review is to describe the current status of LPD as described in the literature. We performed a literature search in the Pub med database using Me Sh terms ＂laparoscopy＂ and ＂pancreaticoduodenectomy＂. We then identified articles in the English language with over 20 patients that focused on LPD only. Review articles were excluded and only one article per institution was used for descriptive analysis in order to avoid overlap. There were a total of eight articles meeting review criteria, consisting of 492 patients. On descriptive analysis we found that percent of LPD due to high-grade malignancy averaged 47% over all articles. Average operative time was 452 minutes, blood loss 369 cc＇s, pancreatic leak rate 15%, delayed gastric emptying 8.6%, length of hospital stay 9.4 days, and short term mortality 2.3%. Comparison studies between open pancreaticoduodenectomy（OPD） and LPD suggested decreased blood loss, longer operative time, similar post-operative complication rate, decreased pain, and shorter hospital length of stay for LPD. There was also increased number of lymph nodes harvested and similar margin free resections with LPD in the majority of studies. LPD is a safe surgery, providing many of the advantages typically associated with laparoscopic procedures. We expect this operation to continue to gain in popularity as well as be offered in increasingly more complex cases. In future studies, it will be beneficial to look further at the oncologic outcome data of LPD including survival.

Six new compounds-steroid-oligopeptide were designed and synthesized with active ester method,their structures (CA-G(1), DCA-G(1), CA-G(2), DCA-G(2), CA-G(3), DCA-G(3)) were confirmed by spectra and elemental analysis. Preliminary study on their bioactivities showed that the DCA-G(3) his the ability of acid-inhibition and the others have the ability of promoting acid-secretion. The metabolic time of six title compounds are longer than the positive control(Boc-G(2)).

INTRODUCTIONTelomerase is a special reverse transcriptase which consists of a template RNA and protein, and uses the RNA template to catalyze the addition of telomeric DNA to chromosome ends[1-5]. The enzyme is active in adult male germ-line cells, embryonic cells and hemopoietic stems, but is undetectable in normal somatic cells except for proliferative cells of renewal tissue, e.g., activated lymphocytes, basal cells of the epidermis and intestinal crypt cells, whereas in almost all malignant tumor cells and immortal cell lines, telomerase activity has been measured. Thus, it is believed that activation of telomerase is closely associated with genesis and development of malignant tumors.

Three thicknesses of TiO2 films, 174, 195, and 229 nm, were deposited onto quartz substrates by sol–gel spin coating method. The as-deposited thin films were characterized by nano-crystallite with different sizes (19–46 nm) and relatively high porous structure. Optical constants were determined and showed the lowest refractive index of 1.66 for the as-prepared films that ever reported till now. Obtained results were discussed through current theoretical ideas.
