This study presents experimental and numerical investigations on the mechanical properties of ultrahigh-performance concrete(UHPC)reinforced with single and hybrid micro-and macro-steel and polypropylene *** this purpose,a series of cubic,cylindrical,dog-bone,and prismatic beam specimens(total fiber by volume=1%,and 2%)were tested under compressive,tensile,and flexural loadings.A method,namely multi-target digital image correlation(MT-DIC)was used to monitor the displacement and deflection *** obtained experimental data were subsequently used to discuss influential parameters,i.e.,flexural strength,tensile strength,size effect,*** analyses were also carried out using finite element software to account for the sensitivity of different ***,nonlinear regression analyses were conducted to obtain the flexural load-deflection *** results showed that the MT-DIC method was capable of estimating the tensile and flexural responses as well as the location of the crack with high *** addition,the regression analyses showed excellent consistency with the experimental results,with correlation coefficients close to ***,size-effect modeling revealed that modified Bazant theory yielded the best estimation of the size-effect phenomenon compared to other models.

We conducted a comprehensive literature review and meta-analysis study on the efficacy of Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) eradication in preventing metachronous gastric cancer after endoscopic resection among an East Asian population. Our results showed that the eradication of this pathogen significantly reduced the risk of susceptibility to metachronous gastric cancer in these patients. However, based on the available evidence, several factors such as increasing age, severe atrophy in the corpus and antrum, and intestinal metaplasia all may increase the risk of metachronous gastric cancer in H. pylori eradicated patients.

The effect of brine salinity,cation type,pH,and produced sand on zeta potential(ZP)measurements with and without the presence of silica nanoparticles is investigated through pH measurement,static tests for sand and ZP measurements as well as Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope(FESEM)*** important factors were investigated:composition of the injected brine,surface charge and *** influence on stability of nanoparticles in the injected brine and amount of sand segregation was determined and the analysis of the new outcomes based on rock/brine ZP measurements was *** results show that the use of silica nanoparticles with high pH helps in preventing sand production and that pH has a main effect on the surface charge of the sand particle released,affecting the ZP of the *** can be active as a coating on sand grains and prevent sand segregation during water *** cations have been found to acquire a more substantial impact on neutralizing the negative charge of the sand particles than monovalent cations at the same concentration and pH conditions at 25℃.The value of ZP becomes of higher negative value with the decrease of brine *** effectiveness of SiO_(2)nanoparticles is quite different for soft water and smart *** soft water,the nanoparticles work more effective at pH higher than 8;and for smart water,the nanoparticles perform better at pH lower than *** reduce sand production with the use of silica nanoparticles,it is highly suggested to increase pH,as pH and sand production mechanisms were observed to be inversely related.

IEEE802.11,known as WiFi has proliferated in the last *** can be found in smartphones,laptops,smart TVs and surveillance *** popularity has revealed many issues in health,data privacy and *** this work,a WiFi measurement study has been conducted in Amman,the capital city of *** Android App has been written to harvest WiFi information of the transmitted frames of any surrounding Access points(APs).More than 240,000 APs information has been harvested in this *** harvested data have been analyzed to find statistics ofWiFi devices in this ***,three power distribution models have been derived from the data for three different areas,closed,open and hybrid *** addition,the collected data revealed that the SSID can be leveraged as a landmark for the access points(APs).To this end,SSIDtrack algorithm is proposed to track shoppers/walkers in closed areas,such as malls to find their walking route utilizing only the SSID information collected from the surrounding *** algorithm has been tested in two different malls that consist of four different *** accuracy recorded for the algorithm acceded 95%.

In order to improve the stability and reliability of high voltage direct current(HVDC)transmission lines in cold regions,this article investigated the corona discharges and the icicle growth characteristics on outdoor insulators under DC *** experiments were conducted at CIGELE laboratory at University of *** simulation model of corona discharges and the theoretical model of icicle growth were *** dynamic process and interactive characteristics between the icicle growth and corona discharges under different HVDC voltages were *** results showed that the discharge activity was strong and the cooling effect of ionic air was weak under negative DC voltage,resulting in a large number of bubbles inside the *** negative ions were produced under negative DC voltage,which enhanced the polarisation of water droplets,leading to a greater density of ice beads outside the *** addition,the longest icicles of each insulator under high humidity could bridge the shed *** accumulated charge and leakage current were higher under negative DC voltage,as well as the corona discharge at the top of the icicles lasted ***,the negative DC corona discharge more significantly inhibited the growth of the icicle,resulting in a slower growth rate of the icicles.

Colloidal gas aphron(CGA)based fluid has become very popular in drilling in the last two decades,as it reduces formation damages *** this study,sugarcane molasses(Mls)was used for the first time as a polymer in CGA-based to investigate its ability to improve the role of aphronized fluid as a drilling *** results showed that increasing the concentration of Mls to 12%(v/v)in CGA-based fluid reduces the drainage rate and increases half-life to 10.6 min,resulting in enhanced stability of the aphronized ***,because of increasing Mls concentration from 1%to 12%(v/v),the yield and the initial gas hold-up decrease to 74%and 299.4 mL,respectively,indicating that the presence of Mls allows less air into the aphron *** the rheological properties were improved in this study,the gel strength did not change ***,the results showed that by increasing the concentration of Mls,the average size of the bubbles decreases,and the particle-size distribution becomes more ***,the API filtration test revealed that the higher the Mls concentration in the aphronized fluid,the lower the fluid loss,and at the Mls concentration of 12%(v/v),the fluid loss was estimated at 19.54 mL.A natural polysaccharide with high molecular weight,Mls can be used as a polymer in CGAbased fluid and,thus,improve its performance.

Nondestructive Testing of Bridge Stay Cable Surface Defects Based on Computer Vision

The automatically defect detection method using vision inspectionis a promising direction. In this paper, an efficient defect detection method fordetecting surface damage to cables on a cable-stayed bridge automatically isdeveloped. A mechanism design method for the protective layer of cables of abridge based on vision inspection and diameter measurement is proposed bycombining computer vision and diameter measurement techniques. A detectionsystem for the surface damages of cables is de-signed. Images of cablesurfaces are then enhanced and subjected to threshold segmentation by utilizingthe improved local grey contrast enhancement method and the improvedmaximum correlation method. Afterwards, the data obtained through diametermeasurement are mined by employing the moving average method. Imageenhancement, threshold segmentation, and diameter measurement methodsare separately validated experimentally. The experimental test results showthat the system delivers recall ratios for type-I and II surface defects of cablesreaching 80.4% and 85.2% respectively, which accurately detects bulges oncable surfaces.

Oil exploration and production,well stability,sand production,geothermal drilling,waste-water or CO_(2) sequestration,geohazards assessment,and EOR processes such as hydraulic fracturing,require adequate information about in-situ *** are several methods for analyzing the magnitude and direction of in-situ *** evaluation of tensile fractures and shear fractures in vertical oil and gas wellbores using image logs is one of these ***,when image logs are run in boreholes,they can be extremely costly and possibly stop the *** data for this study were gathered from seven directional wells drilled into a strike-slip fault reservoir in southern *** stress,minimum horizontal stress,pore pressure,Poisson's ratio of formations,and 233 mud loss reporting points make up the entire *** is the first time maximum horizontal stress direction has been calculated without referring to image log *** addition,the points of lost circulation were categorized into natural and induced *** results revealed that,the maximum horizontal stress direction of the reservoir was calculated at 65*** error rate is roughly 10when comparing the results of this investigation to those obtained from the image *** maximum horizontal stress direction is calculated *** terms of tensile fracture pressure,the in-situ stress ratio identifies the safest as well as the most critical inclination and azimuth for each well.

This paper presents a controller for fast and ultrafast electric vehicle(EV)charging *** affecting the charging efficiency,the proposed controller enables the charger to provide support to the interconnection voltage to counter and damp its *** solutions are either hardware-based such as using supercapacitors and flywheels which increase the cost and bulkiness of the charging station,or software-based such as P/V droop methods which are still unable to provide a robust and strong voltage *** paper proposes an emulated supercapacitor concept in the control system of the ultra-fast EV charger in an islanded DC ***,it converts the EV from a static load to a bus voltage supportive load,leading to reduced bus voltage oscillations during single and multiple ultra-fast EV charging operations,and rides through and provides supports during extreme external *** analysis and design guidelines of the proposed controller are presented,and its effectiveness and improved performance compared with conventional techniques are shown for different case studies.
