BACKGROUND Patients with inflammatory bowel disease are at a 2-8-fold higher risk of deve-loping venous thromboembolism(VTE)as compared to the general *** the exact pathogenesis is unclear,the literature suggests that increased risk of thromboembolic events in such patients occurs as a result of increased coagulation factors,inflammatory cytokines,and reduction in anticoagulants leading to a prothrombotic *** To assess the prevalence,risk factors,management,and outcome of ulcerative colitis(UC)patients who develop *** This was a retrospective chart review done in The Gastroenterology Department of The Aga Khan University *** was collected from medical records for all patients admitted with a diagnosis of UC from January 2012 to December *** Seventy-four patients fulfilled the inclusion *** mean±SD of age at presentation of all UC patients was 45 years±10 years whereas for those who developed VTE,it was 47.6 years±14.7 *** and diabetes were the most common co-morbid seen among UC patients with a frequency of 17(22.9%)and 12(16.2%),respectively.A total of 5(6.7%)patients developed *** venous thrombosis was the most common thromboembolic phenomenon seen in 3(60%)*** the patients with UC and concomitant VTE were discharged home(5;100%).CONCLUSION The prevalence of VTE with UC in Pakistani patients corresponds with the international ***,multi-centric studies are required to further explore these results.

This study investigates the application of Learnable memory Vision Transformers(LmViT)for detecting metal surface flaws,comparing their performance with traditional CNNs,specifically ResNet18 and ResNet50,as well as other transformer-based models including Token to Token ViT,ViT withoutmemory,and Parallel *** awidely-used steel surface defect dataset,the research applies data augmentation and t-distributed stochastic neighbor embedding(t-SNE)to enhance feature extraction and *** techniques mitigated overfitting,stabilized training,and improved generalization *** LmViT model achieved a test accuracy of 97.22%,significantly outperforming ResNet18(88.89%)and ResNet50(88.90%),aswell as the Token to TokenViT(88.46%),ViT without memory(87.18),and Parallel ViT(91.03%).Furthermore,LmViT exhibited superior training and validation performance,attaining a validation accuracy of 98.2%compared to 91.0%for ResNet 18,96.0%for ResNet50,and 89.12%,87.51%,and 91.21%for Token to Token ViT,ViT without memory,and Parallel ViT,*** findings highlight the LmViT’s ability to capture long-range dependencies in images,an areawhere CNNs struggle due to their reliance on local receptive fields and hierarchical feature *** additional transformer-based models also demonstrate improved performance in capturing complex features over CNNs,with LmViT excelling particularly at detecting subtle and complex defects,which is critical for maintaining product quality and operational efficiency in industrial *** instance,the LmViT model successfully identified fine scratches and minor surface irregularities that CNNs often *** study not only demonstrates LmViT’s potential for real-world defect detection but also underscores the promise of other transformer-based architectures like Token to Token ViT,ViT without memory,and Parallel ViT in industrial scenarios where complex spatial relationships are *** research m

The diagnosis of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)and metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease only on the basis of laboratory parameter score such as Hepatic Steatosis Index which includes liver enzymes,gender,basal metabolic index,and presence of diabetic mellitus is not sufficient to exclude other causes of deranged liver enzymes especially medications and autoimmune related liver *** the guideline suggests ultrasound is the preferred first-line diagnostic procedure for imaging of NAFLD,as it provides additional diagnostic information and the combination of biomarkers/scores and transient elastography might confer additional diagnostic accuracy and evident from previous similar studies too.

Impact of Sesbania pachycarpa dc. (Fabaceae) in millet Culture [Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R. Br. (Poaceae)] in Eastern Southeast Niger

millet [Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R. Br. (Poaceae)] is one of the most widely consumed crops in Niger. Its production, despite the efforts of farmers, is confronted with weed problems, in particular Sesbania pachycarpa DC. (Fabaceae). The aim of the present study in this area is to assess the impact of Sesbania pachycarpa on millet growth and yield. To achieve this objective, a completely randomized Fisher block design of twenty-four elementary plots was set up with four replications. The data collected were millet plant heights and plot yields. The data collected were subjected to analysis of variance and Duncan’s test at the 5% threshold for comparisons of mean heights and yields with the control kept clean from sowing to millet harvesting. The results showed the sensitivity of millet plants to Sesbania pachycarpa. The results revealed that the threshold density for damage could be estimated at 6 Sesbania pachycarpa plants/m2 and the critical interference period at the fourth week after sowing. This study showed that the presence of Sesbania pachycarpa influences millet yield. Indeed, the best yields were obtained in plots without Sesbania pachycarpa. millet yield decreased with increasing Sesbania pachycarpa density. The average percentage yield reduction was 36.79%, with a minimum of 21.25% and a maximum of 80%. The findings of this study complete the efforts of developing weed control techniques in pearl millet fields densely populated with Sesbania pachycarpa.

Lie symmetry method is applied to analyze a nonlinear elastic wave equation for longitudinal deformations with third-order anharmonic corrections to the elastic energy. Symmetry algebra is found and reductions to second-order ordinary differential equations （ODEs） are obtained through invariance under different symmetries. The reduced ODEs are further analyzed to obtain several exact solutions in an explicit form. It was observed in the literature that anharmonic corrections generally lead to solutions with time-dependent singularities in finite times singularities, we also obtain solutions which Along with solutions with time-dependent do not exhibit time-dependent singularities.

Preparation and Properties of PBXs Based on FOX-7 in Controlled Fragmentation Warhead Application

Polymer bonded explosive(PBX)formulations were successfully prepared in the laboratory scale containing 1,1-diamino-2,2-dinitroethene(FOX-7)and hexogen(RDX)as brisant high explosives and different binder types of polyurethane(PU)based on glycidyl azide polymer(GAP) and hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene(HTPB) as an energetic and inert polymeric binder *** technique was used for the preparation of different PBX formulations based on FOX-7/RDX and PU(GAP/HTPB)with 14% *** sensitivity to different initial impulses and performance characteristics of the explosive and lethal zone of the tested controlled fragmentation warhead by the fragmentation warhead assessment test(arena test)were studied,in which the arena test was carried out with a controlled fragmentation warhead made from Ck45 steel,with dimensions(100 mm length,30 mm outer diameter and 3 mm thickness).Results show that PBXGF4 has lower sensitivity to impact and heat than those of PBXGR4 by 188.4% and 3.2% *** friction sensitivity is the same as that of *** has better performance,in which detonation velocity increases by 2.1% and brisance increases by 0.5% when compared with those of *** was concluded that PBXGF4 which based on FOX-7 bonded with PU/GAP matrix has good characteristics as PBX,specially in the sensitivity to impact and can be applied for replacing PBXs based on RDX in the advanced PBXs for low sensitive fragmentation warheads.

An analytical solution is obtained for the flow due to solid-body rotations an oscillating porous disk and of a fluid at infinity. Neglecting the induced magnetic field, the effects of the transversely applied magnetic field on the flow are studied. Further, the flow confined between two disks is also discussed. It is found that an infinite number of solutions exist for the flow confined between two disks.
