A quasi-stationary alternating current （AC） operation assisted by lower hybrid waves （LHW） was achieved recently in HT-7. It is found that the particle confinement time of the positive current plasma is lower than that of the negative current plasma. The particle transport coefficients are investigated in AC plasmas by a gas puff modulation method. It is observed that the particle diffusion coefficient for the positive plasma current case is almost the same as that for the negative one, but the absolute value of inward pinch velocity for the positive current plasma is much lower than Vhat of the negative one. The result of the particle transport model study is in agreement with the experimental confinement study. The intensity of Hα emission and impurities emission of CⅢ, OII and OV for the negative current plasma are much lower than that for the positive current plasma. The radiation from Hα, OⅡ, CⅢ and ECE signals from the negative to the positive current phase showed less ionization and lower parameters than those from the positive to the negative one. The difference of particle transport and confinement in AC plasmas is not predicted by the current theory.

This paper examines the spatial externality from foreign direct investment on domestic firms. Using Chinese firm-level data for 2004, and after accounting for an endogeneity problem, we find that foreign firms generate a significantly positive spillover effect on the regional productivity of domestic firms in similar counties and industries. Estimating a spatial-autoregressive model, we further show that such local spillovers could transmit to domestic firms in other counties and industries through interactions among domestic firms. However, these spatial multiplier effects decline with distance, thereby reducing the foreign direct investment spillover effects for domestic firms in distant locations.

Aortic stenosis(AS)is the most common valvular disease in the older adults'population,and its prevalence will likely continue to increase with the aging society.[1]Surgical aortic valve replacement(SAVR)for elderly patients is known as a high-risk procedure.[2-4]Transcatheter aortic valve implantation(TAVI)is a reasonable alternative to SAVR for older and inoperable patients with AS,and TAVI significantly improves outcomes in elderly patients with severe AS and serious comorbidities,[5,6]TAVI achieves a 20%relative reduction in mortality compared with SAVR.

We investigated the biodegradation of 2-nitrophenol （2-NP）, 4-nitrophenol （4-NP）, and 2,4-dinitrophenol （2,4-DNP） in the rhizosphere of Spirodela polyrrhiza plants by conducting degradation experiments with three river water samples supplemented with each nitrophenol （NP）. We then isolated NP-degrading bacteria both from the S. polyrrhiza roots and from the river water. In the river water samples, removal of the three NP was accelerated in the presence of S. polyrrhiza plants. The three NPs persisted in an autoclaved solution with sterile plants suggests that NP removal was accelerated largely by bacterial NP biodegradation rather than by adsorption and uptake by the plants. We isolated 8 strains of NP-degrading bacteria： 6 strains from the S. polyrrhiza roots and 2 strains from river water without the plants. The 2-NP- and 2,4-DNP-degrading bacteria were isolated only from the S. polyrrhiza roots. The 4-NP- degrading bacteria different from those isolated from the river water samples were also found on S. polyrrhiza roots. The 2-NP- and 4-NP-degrading strains isolated from the roots utilized the corresponding NP （0.5 mmol/L） as the sole carbon and energy source. The 2,4-DNP-degrading strains isolated from the roots showed substantial 2,4-DNP-degrading activity, but the presence of other carbon and energy sources was required for their growth. The isolated NP-degrading bacteria from the roots must have contributed to the accelerated degradation of the three NPs in the rhizosphere of S. polyrrhiza. Our results suggested that rhizoremediation with S. polyrrhiza may be effective for NP-contaminated surface water.

Flow field,heat transfer and inclusion behavior in a 700 mm round bloom mold under the effect of a swirling flow submerged entry nozzle(SEN)were investigated with the aim to enhance the casting *** results indicate that the impinging flow phenomenon,which is commonly observed in conventional single-port SEN casting,was completely suppressed by the swirling flow SEN coming from a novel swirling flow generator design in *** from the SEN port moved towards the mold wall in 360 direction,leading to a uniform temperature distribution in the *** to a conventional single-port SEN casting,the steel super-heat was decreased by about 5 K at the mold center,and the temperature was increased by around 3.5 K near the *** addition,the removal ratio of inclusions to the mold top surface in the swirling flow SEN casting was found to be ***,the removal ratio of spherical inclusions with diameters of 1,10,50 and 100μm was increased by 18.2%,18.5%,22.6% and 42.7%,***,the ratio was raised by 18.2%,20.8%,21.5% and 44.1%for non-spherical inclusions,respectively.

Radio-photoluminescence （RPL） is a phenomenon seen in luminescent materials in which the appearance of new photolu- minescence （PL） emission is induced by an incident ionizing radiation such as X-rays; and the signal is stable even after the irradia- tion and during the PL measurement. Since the induced PL intensity is proportional to the irradiation dose, the RPL can be used in ra- diation measurements. The distinct advantage of RPL over the conventional thermally- or photo-stimulated luminescence （abbrevi- ated as TSL or PSL） dosimeters is the stability of response signal. With an RPL detector, it allows us to readout the signal multiple time without signal fading. In this work, we discovered that CsBr：Sm showed an RPL phenomenon by X-ray irradiation, and we characterized this new material as an RPL detector. While the sample showed PL emissions mainly in the visible range, after an X-ray irradiation additional emissions could be observed in the red to near-infrared range around 650-850 nm and 900-1000 nm and longer. The RPL response was fairly stable overall, but very interestingly the 650-850 nm signal slightly increased while the 900-1000 nm decreased during PL readout. The dynamic range was confirmed over 1-104 mGy with linear response.
