A Concept of Dynamically Reconfigurable Real-time Vision System for Autonomous Mobile Robotics

This paper describes specific constraints of vision systems that are dedicated to be embedded in mobile robots. If PC-based hardware architecture is convenient in this field because of its versatility, flexibility, performance, and cost, current real-time operating systems are not completely adapted to long processing with varying duration, and it is often necessary to oversize the system to guarantee fail-safe functioning. Also, interactions with other robotic tasks having more priority are difficult to handle. To answer this problem, we have developed a dynamically reconfigurable vision processing system, based on the innovative features of Cleopatre real-time applicative layer concerning scheduling and fault tolerance. This framework allows to define emergency and optional tasks to ensure a minimal quality of service for the other subsystems of the robot, while allowing to adapt dynamically vision processing chain to an exceptional overlasting vision process or processor overload. Thus, it allows a better cohabitation of several subsystems in a single hardware, and to develop less expensive but safe systems, as they will be designed for the regular case and not rare exceptional ones. Finally, it brings a new way to think and develop vision systems, with pairs of complementary operators.

Insect-vectored plant viruses can induce changes in plant phenotypes,thus influencing plant-vector interactions in a way that may promote their dispersal according to their mode of transmission (i.e.,circulative ***).This indirect vector manipulation requires host-virus-vector coevolution and would thus be effective solely in very specific plant-virus-vector species *** studies suggest this manipulation may depend on multiple factors relative to various intrinsic characteristics of vectors such as transmission *** anintegrative study,we tested the effects of infection of the Brassicaceae Camelina sativa with the noncirculative Cauliflower mosaic virus (CaMV)or the circulative Turnip yellows virus (TuYV)on the host-plant colonization of two aphid species differing in their virus transmission efficiency:the polyphagous Myzus persicae,efficient vector of both viruses,and the Brassicaceae specialist Brevicoryne brassicae,poor vector of TuYV and efficient vector of *** confirmed the important role of virus mode of transmission as plant-mediated effects of CaMV on the two aphid species induced negative alterations of feeding behavior (i.e.,decreased phloem sap ingestion)and performance that were both conducive for virus fitness by promoting dispersion after a rapid *** addition,virus transmission efficiency may also play a role in vector manipulation by viruses as only the responses of the efficient vector to plant-mediated effects of TuYV,that is,enhanced feeding behavior and performances,were favorable to their acquisition and further ***,this work demonstrated that vector transmission efficiency also has to be considered when studying the mechanisms underlying vector manipulation by *** results also re- inforce the idea that vector manipulation requires coevolution between plant,virus and vector.

Increasing salinity in Mediterranean soils and the wide spread of citrus tristeza virus have challenged the use of sour orange （Citrus aurantium） and have accelerated the process of seeking alternative rootstocks. In the present study, nine cultivars of citrumelo （Citrus paradisi Macf. x Poncirus trifoliata （L.） Raf.） were evaluated for salt tolerance. Two month-old seedlings were raised under greenhouse conditions and irrigated with a half strength Hoagland solution supplemented with different concentrations of NaCI, i.e., 0 mM, 35 mM and 85 mM. Tolerance was assessed after two months of stress by measuring stem growth, number of leaves, fresh and dry weight organs and leaf water, chlorophyll and chloride contents. A differential behavior was noticed among the seedlings we studied. When using increased concentration of salt in irrigation water, all the parameters were significantly reduced except for leaf chloride content which highly increased in response to stress. At 85 mM, the cultivar SC2 showed a high tolerance resulting in less apparent leaf symptoms, higher growth and higher leaf chlorophyll content when compared to other seedlings. Similarly, the cultivar C4475-C was shown to be a strong root chloride excluder with less than 2.6% DW （dry weight） chloride accumulation at leaf level. By contrast, our results suggest that C4475-A and C4475-B are salt sensitive cultivars regarding to all the parameters studied while the other citrumelos were considered as moderately tolerant.

AIM: To analyse allelic frequency of NOD2 gene variantsand to assess their correlation with inflammatory bowel disease(IBD) in ***: We studied 132 unrelated patients diagnosed with IBD, 86 with Crohn's disease(CD) and 46 with ulcerative colitis(UC). Data was prospectively collected between January 2011 and December 2013. The demographic and clinical characteristics were recorded for all the patients. A group of 114 healthy unrelated individuals were selected as controls. All groups studied originated from different regions of North Algeria and confirmed the Algerian origin of their parents and grandparents. Informed and written consent was obtained from each of the participants. All individuals were genotyped for the three CDassociated NOD2 variants(***702 Trp, ***908 Arg and ***1007 fsins C mutations) using the polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism method. Allele and genotype frequencies in patients and control subjects were compared by χ2 test and Fisher's exact test where appropriate. Odds ratios(OR) and 95% confidence intervals(95%CI) were also estimated. Association analyses were performed to study the influence of these variants on IBD and on clinical ***: The ***702 Trp mutation showed the highest frequency in CD patients(8%) compared to UC patients(2%)(P = 0.09, OR = 3.67, 95%CI: 0.48-4.87) and controls(5%)(P = 0.4, OR = 1.47, 95%CI: 0.65-3.31). In CD patients allelic frequencies of ***908 Arg and ***1007 fsins C variants compared to HC were 3% vs 2%(P = 0.5, OR = 1.67, 95%CI: 0.44-6.34); 2% vs 1%(P = 0.4 OR = 2.69 95%CI: 0.48-14.87 respectively). In UC patients, allelic frequencies of ***908 Arg and ***1007 fsins C variants compared to HC were 1% vs 2%(P = 1, OR = 1.62, 95%CI: 0.17-4.74) and 2% vs 1%(P = 0.32, OR = 0.39, 95%CI: 0.05-2.87). Therapeutic and Prognostic Aspects of Gynecological and Breast Cancers in Northern Benin from 2010 to 2020

Introduction: Gynaecological and Breast Cancers (GBCs) are a public health problem and management continues to be a concern. Objective: To study the therapeutic and prognostic aspects of GBC. Method: This was a cross-sectional and descriptive study from January 1, 2010, to December 31, 2020. It included cases where the diagnosis of GBC was made and confirmed on anatomopathological examination and where treatment was instituted. Male breast cancer cases were excluded. Data were entered and processed by Epi data 3.1.1. and Epi Info 7.***.0.1. Results: A total of 230 cases of GBC were collected. The mean age was 48.4 ± 11.14 years with extremes of 15 and 80 years. The cancers were of the breast (55.2%), cervix (28.8%), corpus uteri (7.8%), ovary (5.2%), vulva (1.7%) and vagina (1.3%). Of the 127 breast cancers, 107 (70.10%) women had undergone total or partial mastectomy with 89 cases of lymph node dissection (83.20%). Hormone therapy was instituted in 89 women (71.8%), chemotherapy in 87 women (81.3%), 27 (21.25%) had undergone immunohistochemistry (IHC). Histopronostic grades were specified in 96 cases, including 12 (12.5%) grade I, 60 (62.5%) grades II and 24 (25%) grade III. Of the 103 women with gynaecological cancer, 94.2% had received treatment, which was specific for 69 women (71.1%). Radiotherapy was not performed in any of the women. Among the 69 women, 8.7% of deaths were recorded. Conclusion: GBC is common in northern Benin. Their management is inadequate and mortality remains high. Priority should be given to prevention.

Introduction: Gynaecological and breast cancers (GBC) are the most frequent and most serious cancers of women. They are frequent in Benin with an average of 108.5 cases per year. Objective: To identify factors associated with women’s knowledge, attitudes and practices regarding GBC. Methods: This was a cross-sectional, prospective, descriptive and analytical study. Women of childbearing age residing in the commune of Glazoué in Benin for at least six months were included. The WHO cluster sampling technique was used. The Bruno De Finetti postulate and the Likert scale were used to study women’s knowledge, attitudes and practices. Data were collected and analysed using Epi Data 3.1 and Epi info 7.***.2.6 software. Results: A total of 540 women were registered. The mean age was 27.1 ± 8.84 years with extremes of 15 and 49 years. They were married (61.1%), had secondary education (40.2%) and lived in urban areas (61.9%). They had a low level of knowledge (75.4%), an adapted attitude (93.0%) and poor practice (88.9%). Occupation (p = 0.000), level of education (p = 0.007) and place of residence (p = 0.001) significantly influenced knowledge of GBC. The attitude was adequate (93%) and the practice was poor (88.9%). Inappropriate attitude was significantly associated with the level of education (p = 0.006). Conclusion: Women in the commune of Glazoué in Benin have a low level of knowledge of GBC with an adapted attitude and poor practice. Several factors are associated, hence the need to take them into account to facilitate GBC screening.

Background: Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency is an enzymopathy characterized by insufficient production of reduced glutathione (GSH), a molecule known for its antioxidant role. This lack of GSH leads to a deficit in the elimination of peroxide ions from the red blood cells, causing thereby hemolytic accidents, which can be fatal if not properly managed. In neonates, the clinical picture is most often that of neonatal jaundice. Objectives: This study aimed to determine the place of G6PD deficiency as a cause of neonatal jaundice at Essos Hospital Centre. Methods: We conducted a prospective descriptive study over three months. Blood samples taken from newborns aged 0 to 28 days were analyzed in the medical analysis laboratory of the Essos Hospital Centre in Yaoundé. We carried out a determination of the enzymatic activity of G6PD, a blood count and the determination of the bilirubin level. The results obtained were analysed using R statistical software version 4.1.1. Linear regression analyses were used to assess correlations between the variables of interest. Results: Sixty-nine icteric neonates constituted our study population, with a total of 40 boys (58%) and 29 girls (42%) with a sex ratio of 1.37 in favour of boys. The prevalence of G6PD deficiency in icteric children was 50.72%. The mean hemoglobin was 15.3 ± 3.08 g/dL and the mean red blood cell count was 4.52 ± 1.01 × 106/mm3. The mean total bilirubin was 122 ± 48.3 mg/L with a maximum of 308 mg/L and the mean free bilirubin was 104 ± 46.6 mg/L with a maximum of 292 mg/L. Furthermore, after linear regression analysis, we obtained a positive and significant correlation between G6PD enzymatic activity and hemoglobin level (r = 0.33;p ≤ 0.001), G6PD red blood cell level (r = 0.26;p Conclusion: Neonatal jaundice in G6PD-deficient children is a real public health problem and the prevention of hemolysis in children requires an early diagnosis of the enzyme disorder and good follow-
