Childhood Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma: A Case Report

Background: Thyroid cancer is a rare disease yet the most common endocrine malignancy in pediatrics. Unlike adult patients, children with thyroid nodules typically don’t complain of pain, soreness, or difficulty swallowing. Additionally, using the recommended therapy for adults to treat paediatrics is not appropriate. There is an unmet need for updated unique guidelines for the management of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) in paediatrics and adolescents. Case Report: A 12-year-old girl had an atypical presentation of metastatic PTC in lymph nodes. She was treated initially with hemi-thyroidectomy, followed by total thyroidectomy. A multidisciplinary team followed her up till successful results were found. Conclusion: Due to the difference in pathophysiology between thyroid tumors in children and adults, a unique approach to PTC management is to be implemented. Further trials are required for a better understanding of risk factors, the likelihood of recurrence, and the long-term side effects of the chosen management plan.

Piezoresistive composite elastomers have shown great potentials for wearable and flexible electronic applications due to their high sensitivity,excellent frequency response,and easy signal detection.A composition membrane sensor with an interlocked structure has been developed and demonstrated outstanding pressure sensitivity,fast response time,and low temperature drift *** with a flexible MXene-based flat sensor(Ti_(3)C_(2)),the interlocked sensor exhibits a significantly improved pressure sensitivity of two magnitudes higher(21.04 kPa^(-1)),a fast reaction speed of 31 ms,and an excellent cycle life of 5000 test *** viability of sensor in responding to various external stimuli with high deformation capacity has been confirmed by calculating the force distribution of a polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)film model with a microlens structure using the solid mechanics module in *** conventional process,we utilized three-dimensional(3D)laser-direct writing lithography equipment to directly transform high-precision 3D data into a micro-nano structure morphology through variable exposure doses,which reduces the hot melting ***,the flexible pressure device is capable of detecting and distinguishing signals ranging from finger movements to human pulses,even for speech *** simple,convenient,and large-format lithographic method offers new opportunities for developing novel human-computer interaction devices.

Stickler syndrome (SS) is an autosomal dominant inherited genetic disorder that presents with hearing loss, a cleft palate, epiphyseal dysplasia, and degeneration, similar to arthritis and well known to be associated with rhegmato-genous retinal detachments. A particular group of physical features called Pierre Robin sequence is also common in people with stickler syndrome. Pierre Robin sequence includes a cleft palate, glossoptosis, and micrognathia. We describe a case report of a family diagnosed with stickler syndrome presenting with Pierre Robin sequence and share some universal management steps for rhegmatogenous retinal detachment in stickler syndrome. Genetic testing is important to support the diagnosis and conduct screenings of family members.

The formal modeling and verification of aircraft takeoff is a challenge because it is a complex safety-critical *** task of aircraft takeoff is distributed amongst various computer-based controllers,however,with the growing malicious threats a secure communication between aircraft and controllers becomes highly *** research serves as a starting point for integration of BB84 quantum protocol with petri nets for secure modeling and verification of takeoff *** integrated model combines the BB84 quantum cryptographic protocol with powerful verification tool support offered by petri *** model certain important properties of BB84,a new variant of petri nets coined as Quantum Nets are proposed by defining their mathematical foundations and overall system dynamics,furthermore,some important system properties are also abstractly *** proposed QuantumNets are then applied for modeling of aircraft takeoff process by defining three quantum nets:namely aircraft,runway controller and gate *** authentication between quantum nets,the use of external places and transitions is demonstrated to describe the encryptiondecryption process of qubits ***,the developed takeoff quantum network is verified through simulation offered by colored petri-net(CPN)***,reachability tree(RT)analysis is also performed to have greater confidence in feasibility and correctness of the proposed aircraft takeoff model through the Quantum Nets.

From the beginning,the process of research and its publication is an ever-growing phenomenon and with the emergence of web technologies,its growth rate is *** a rough estimate,more than thirty thousand research journals have been issuing around four million papers annually on *** engines,indexing services,and digital libraries have been searching for such publications over the ***,getting the most relevant articles against the user requests is yet a *** is mainly because the articles are not appropriately indexed based on the hierarchies of granular subject *** overcome this issue,researchers are striving to investigate new techniques for the classification of the research articles especially,when the complete article text is not available(a case of nonopen access articles).The proposed study aims to investigate the multilabel classification over the available metadata in the best possible way and to assess,“to what extent metadata-based features can perform in contrast to content-based approaches.”In this regard,novel techniques for investigating multilabel classification have been proposed,developed,and evaluated on metadata such as the Title and Keywords of the *** proposed technique has been assessed for two diverse datasets,namely,from the Journal of universal computer science(***)and the benchmark dataset comprises of the articles published by the Association for computing machinery(ACM).The proposed technique yields encouraging results in contrast to the state-ofthe-art techniques in the literature.

Thermal Diffusivity of Zinc-Aluminum Layered Double Hydroxide Using PVDF Photoflash Technique

Thermal diffusivity of zinc-aluminum layered double hydroxides synthesized at different molar ratios of Zn to Al, at pH 7 and 8 were measured using polyvinlidene diflouride (PVDF) photoflash technique. The samples were prepared using Zn(NO3)2 and Al(NO3)2 solutions by dropwise addition of NaOH solution with vigorous stirring under nitrogen atmosphere. The different ratios of Zn to Al were obtained by changing the molar ratio of Zn(NO3)2 to Al(NO3)2 solutions. The slurry formed was kept at 70 ?C in an oil bath shaker for 18 h and then filtered, washed and dried in an oven for another 48 h at 70 ?C. A simple photoflash and PVDF transducer were used as light source and thermal wave detector, respectively. All the measurements of thermal diffusivity of Zn-Al layered double hydroxide were carried out at room temperature. For Zn/Al > 3, the thermal diffusivity of all series of sample prepared at pH = 7 and 8 increase with the increasing of Zn composition. Thermal diffusivity values of zinc-aluminum layered doubled hydroxide synthesized at pH 8 are higher than the values obtained for samples prepared at pH = 7 except for Zn/Al higher than 5.
