Hypo.alemia, defined as serum po.assium belo. 3.5 mEq/L, can lead to.severe co.plicatio.s such as arrhythmias and muscle paralysis, po.entially resulting in rhabdo.yo.ysis. The etio.o.y o. hypo.alemia is o.ten multifacto.ial, invo.ving but no. limited to.gastro.ntestinal lo.ses, renal lo.ses, medicatio. effects, and inadequate dietary intake. Chro.ic heavy alco.o. use, o.structive sleep apnea (o.A), and the use o. diuretics such as hydro.hlo.o.hiazide (HCTZ) are also.significant co.tributing facto.s. Effective management requires tho.o.gh evaluatio. and investigatio. to.effectively treat a patient. This case repo.t aims to.illustrate the diagno.tic challenges and co.prehensive treatment appro.ch required in a patient with multiple co.o.bidities and severe hypo.alemia, emphasizing the need fo. a multidisciplinary and co.prehensive appro.ch to.address all underlying causes.

Backgro.nd: Thyro.d cancer is a rare disease yet the mo.t co.mo. endo.rine malignancy in pediatrics. Unlike adult patients, children with thyro.d no.ules typically do.’t co.plain o. pain, so.eness, o. difficulty swallo.ing. Additio.ally, using the reco.mended therapy fo. adults to.treat paediatrics is no. appro.riate. There is an unmet need fo. updated unique guidelines fo. the management o. papillary thyro.d carcino.a (PTC) in paediatrics and ado.escents. Case Repo.t: A 12-year-o.d girl had an atypical presentatio. o. metastatic PTC in lymph no.es. She was treated initially with hemi-thyro.decto.y, fo.lo.ed by to.al thyro.decto.y. A multidisciplinary team fo.lo.ed her up till successful results were fo.nd. Co.clusio.: Due to.the difference in patho.hysio.o.y between thyro.d tumo.s in children and adults, a unique appro.ch to.PTC management is to.be implemented. Further trials are required fo. a better understanding o. risk facto.s, the likeliho.d o. recurrence, and the lo.g-term side effects o. the cho.en management plan.

分子印迹表面增强拉曼散射(MI-SERS)传感器,将具有构效预定性、识别特异性和应用普遍性的分子印迹聚合物(MIPs)作为识别元件,结合表面增强拉曼散射(SERS)光谱检测技术的指纹识别、无损、高灵敏和快速的优良特性,提高了传感器的分析性能,为复杂基质痕量分析提供了新方法.MI-SERS传感器凭借高效、精确、无损等成为新兴的研究热点,在环境监测、食品安全、生物医药等领域显示了广阔的发展前景.本文综述了MI-SERS传感器构建与应用的新进展.首先,介绍了基本的传感机理,以及根据使用场景、操作过程和检测模式进行的结构分类.然后,从MIPs制备策略和SERS基底改良入手,阐述了提高传感器性能的印迹策略和条件优化方法,并探讨了传感器的即时检验应用.最后,提出了MI-SERS传感器在稳定性、增强机理、普适性、绿色可持续性方面可能面临的挑战,展望了其构建和应用前景.

Backgro.nd: Preeclampsia is repo.ted to.co.plicate 2% - 8% o. pregnancies glo.ally and is an impo.tant cause o. maternal and perinatal mo.bidity and mo.tality. The aetio.o.y and patho.enesis are still po.rly understo.d and substantial impro.ement has no. been made in the predictio., preventio. and treatment o. the disease. o.jective: To.co.pare the frequency o. activated pro.ein C resistance (APC-R) in patients with pre-eclampsia to.that o. no.mo.ensive pregnant wo.en and to.determine the co.relatio. between activated pro.ein ratio.(APC-ratio. and the severity o. pre-eclampsia. Metho.o.o.y: A cro.s-sectio.al study was carried o.t in 100 pre-eclamptic patients and 100 no.mo.ensive pregnant co.tro.s. The APC-ratio.was determined using the mo.ified activated partial thro.bo.lastin time. Study participants with APC-ratio.o. less than 2.0 were defined as having APC-R. Data was analyzed using SPSS versio. 22.0. Results: Mean APC-ratio.was significantly lo.er in pre-eclamptics (2.89 ± 1.70) co.pared to.no.mo.ensive pregnant wo.en (3.57 ± 1.06) (p = 0.0008) and the levels were also.higher in mild (2.95 ± 1.15) co.pared to.severe pre-eclamptics (2.62 ± 1.14). The frequency o. APC-R was 26% amo.g wo.en with pre-eclampsia co.pared to.4% amo.g no.mo.ensive co.tro.s (p = 0.000). Amo.g 100 pre-eclamptic wo.en 7 (21.2%) o.t o. 33 with mild pre–eclampsia had APC-R, while 19 (28.4%) o.t o. 67 with severe pre-eclampsia had APC-R. APC-ratio.had a significant negative co.relatio. with mean arterial blo.d pressure (r = −0.324;p = 0.000) and pro.einuria (r = −0.379;p = 0.000) amo.g study participants. Co.clusio.: The frequency o. activated pro.ein c resistance is significantly higher in pre-eclamptics co.pared to.no.mo.ensive pregnant wo.en and this is mo.e pro.o.nced in tho.e with severe pre-eclampsia co.pared with tho.e with mild disease. APC-R may therefo.e be used as a marker o. severity in the disease.
