We synthesized NiO-loaded TiO2porous p-n junctions by electrophoretic enhanced micro arc oxidation（EEMAO） technique which is a relatively simple and new method for producing composite *** structure,chemical composition,and surface morphology of the NiO—TiO2coatings were investigated by X-ray diffraction（XRD）,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPS）,and scanning electron microscopy（SEM） techniques,*** efficiency of the samples was studied through measuring the decomposition rate of 4-chlorophenol under UV *** showed that the coatings mainly consisted of anatase,rutile,and nickel oxide *** was observed that a finer surface morphology,*** pores,was obtained at lower ***,the amount of nickel oxide loaded to the TiO2host increased with the *** NiO-TiO2composite coatings showed a higher photoactivity than pure TiO2coatings revealing the effective role of NiO in decreasing the recombination rate of photogenerated electrons and *** maximum photocatalytic reaction rate constants for TiO2and NiO—TiO2samples were obtained as 0.0064 and 0.0131 min-1,*** also found that there was an optimum concentration of NiO where a maximum photocatalytic activity was achieved.A correlation between growth variables,structure,and photocatalytic efficiency was established.

镁铬耐火材料是铜精炼阳极炉风口常用的耐火材料。除热化学和热机械损耗之外 ,内衬还要经受气相腐蚀损坏。这里介绍了在伊朗Sarcheshmeh制铜集团 (complex)的阳极炉中气相腐蚀的研究结果。由XRD和SEM /EDX对用后的铬镁耐火砖进行了分析。结果表明 :在温度约 90 0℃时 ,耐火内衬因碳沉积而开始破坏。由于耐火材料中含有铁相而使耐火材料的气孔中碳沉淀更加严重。然而对于低铁的铬镁耐火内衬 ,这种腐蚀将是轻微的。对于尖晶石类耐火材料 ,未观察到内衬破坏。

Assessment of Linear Discrimination and Nonlinear Discrimination Analysis in Diagnosis Alzheimer’s Disease in Early Stages

Introduction: The purpose of this study is to evaluate discriminating power of two texture analysis, linear discriminant analysis and nonlinear discriminant analysis, in classifying atrophy of Alzheimer’s disease and atrophy of aging. Methods: The database included 24 regions of interest of Alzheimer patients and 24 regions of interest of aging people in hippocampus region. Linear discriminant analysis and nonlinear discriminant analysis were used for texture analysis. The first nearest neighbor classifier was applied to features resulting from linear discriminant analysis. Nonlinear discriminant analysis features were classified by using an artificial neural network. The confusion matrix and Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curve analysis were used to examine the performance of texture analysis method. Result: Nonlinear discriminant analysis indicates the best performance for classification of atrophy of Alzheimer’s disease and atrophy of aging. Conclusion: Our result showed computer aided diagnosis has high potential discriminating power in classifying Alzheimer’s disease in early stage.

Objective The aim of this study was to describe health services utilisation and responsiveness in East Azerbaijan province,*** A cross-sectional household study as part of a larger research on primary healthcare *** We carried out the study in East Azerbaijan Province,northwest Iran from July to September *** A total of 1318 households were *** Most of the participating households had social security health *** failure or hypertension care,general outpatient care and arthritis care were the most used *** services cost and inadequate medicine and medical equipment were introduced to be the main barriers to health services utilisation in Tabriz and province representative sample(PRS),*** system responsiveness mean score(the maximum is 100)was 33.71±16.15(95%CI 32.45 to 34.97)in Tabriz and 32.02±14.3(95%CI 30.9 to 33.13)in PRS,which showed significant difference(p≤0.02).Conclusions Differences in the utilisation and responsiveness of health services and distribution of health resources were observed between Tabriz and ***,health system responsiveness in both Tabriz and PRS was at low *** results demonstrate the need for changing resource distribution policies and employing reactive health policies to response the public health.

Objective: To examine differences in the metabolite, steroid and lipopolysaccharide of follicular fluid collected from the ovulatory follicle of Holstein repeat breeding cows, lactating cows, and virgin fertile heifers. Methods: Estrus was induced in animals possessing functional corpus luteum by intramuscular administration of prostaglandin F2α. Six to twelve hours after detection of the standing estrus, cervical samples were collected to detect subclinical endometritis via counting neutrophils on stained smears of cervical swabs. Then, follicular fluid of ovulatory follicles and serum samples were collected from repeat breeding cows (n=11), lactating cows (n=8) and virgin fertile heifers (n=10). Sodium and potassium were measured with a flame photometer method. Urea, total protein, glucose, cholesterol andβ-hydroxybutyric acid were assayed with commercial spectrophotometry kits. Chloride concentration was also measured with titration of samples against silver nitrate. Progesterone, estradiol-17βand lipopolysaccharide concentrations were measured using enzyme-linked immuno sorbent assay kits. Results: All analysis of follicular fluid samples showed that repeat breeding and lactating cows had a mean higher lipopolysaccharide concentration than that of the virgin fertile heifers (P<0.05). But concentration of serum estradiol-17βin repeat breeding and lactating cows was lower than that of virgin fertile heifers (P<0.05). In addition, the mean percentage of neutrophils in the cervical secretion of repeat breeding cows was higher than that of lactating cows (P<0.05). Conclusions: High follicular fluid concentration of lipopolysaccharide in ovulatory follicles results in the occurrence of repeat breeding syndrome in dairy cows. Further, a lower serum estradiol-17βconcentration and a higher percentage of neutrophil in the cervical secretion on the day of artificial insemination may have resulted in the occurrence of repeat breeding syndrome in dairy cows.

Mobarakeh Steel Company produces 3 million tons of steel annually with eight 180 tons EBT furnaces. Different types of magnesia-carbon refractories have been employed at slagline during last 5 years. In the present study the wear and corrosion of MgO-C refractories of these furnaces have been studied via post-mortem analysis of used bricks and the observation of operational effects. Laboratory corrosion tests were also arranged to investigate the effect of slag chemistry and the mechanism of chemical corrosion . Characterization of different magnesia-carbon bricks clarified that the crystal size , type and chemistry of magnesia as well as graphite structure have the main influence on corrosion resistance. The CaO: SiO2 ratio in slag also plays a vital role in the wear of slagline refractories. The iron oxide content of slag also has a major role in graphite oxidation. Of metallurgical parameters , the electric power input and the contact time have great influence on refractories life. The results will be discussed with emphasis on particular operational factors in Mobarakeh steel plant.

Patient Experiences of Medical Screening Performed by the Dental Services:A Qualitative Study

Objective: To explore how medical screening performed by the dental service was perceived from the patient’s perspective. Material and methods: Medical screening for high blood pressure and high plasma glucose was performed on 170 patients at a dental clinic in a small town in central Sweden. Seventeen individual interviews were conducted with a strategic sampling of these patients. The interviews were recorded and transcribed. The transcriptions were coded and categorized in a manifest analysis, followed by a latent, interpretive analysis. Results: The manifest analysis resulted in three categories: Positive attitude to screening and dental professionals which need to have specific knowledge of medical screening;Dental care which provides continuity but is not a neutral environment;and Feedback on the medical screening results and desired cooperation between dental and health care services. The latent analysis pointed out the importance of the patient’s feeling that the procedure is carried out properly and safely, and requests for clear feedback concerning the results of the screening. Conclusions: The interviewees experienced the dental care service as providing continuity. They would like to have regular medical screenings at their regular dental appointments to identify risks of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes. However, they expressed that it was important for the dental care staff to have the necessary medical knowledge. They also wanted good cooperations between the dental and health care services, with clear feedback to the patients about both positive and negative results and, when appropriate, referrals to the health care service.

The effect of green tea mouthwash (<i>Camellia sinensis</i>) on wound healing following periodontal crown lengthening surgery;a double blind randomized controlled trial

Green tea has been used as a traditional medicine since 2700 BC and several studies have shown that green tea polyphenols inhibit the growth of oral and periodontal pathogenic bacteria and can improve oral and gingival health. In this clinical study we investigated the effect of green tea mouthwash on microbial dental plaque and gingival inflammation following periodontal surgery. A total of 34 crown lengthening surgeries were included in this study. After removing periodontal dressing, green tea mouthwash for the test group and placebo for the patients in the control group were prescribed, and periodontal parameters were assessed at base line and after 2 weeks. Analysis of the data revealed the significant effect of green tea mouthwash on reducing Plaque index (PI), Gingival Index (GI) and Bleeding on probing (BOP). Therefore it would be recommended as a safe, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial mouthwash for treating gingival inflammation and maintaining oral and gingival health.
