A 2D GIS Approach for Mapping Aquiferous Zones Using Remot.ly Sensed Dat. wit.in Obubra, Sout.east.Nigeria

Groundwat.r is vit.l t. t.e sust.nance and well-being of man-kind, alt.ough it.is const.nt.y under immense pressure. For t.is reason, t.ere is need t. develop an effect.ve, reliable, scient.fic and sust.inable means of delineat.ng zones of groundwat.r occurrence and dist.ibut.on wit. high precision in ot.er t. effect.vely explore for t.is resource. In t.is st.dy, remot. sensing (RS) and geographical informat.on syst.m (GIS) have been combined t. develop t.emat.c maps of t.e zones of groundwat.r occurrence and dist.ibut.on based on variable fact.rs such as;elevat.on, drainage, lineament. slope, lit.ology and soil. t.e analyt.cal hierarchy procedure (AHP) was employed t. classify and subsequent.y assign weight.t. each variable fact.r t.rough weight.d overlay analysis. Int.grat.on of t.ese fact.rs wit. t.eir relat.ve classes defined was used t. produce a 2D-model for predict.ng surface aquifers mapped wit.in Obubra. t.e st.dy delineat.d t.ree (3) surface aquifer zones represent.ng groundwat.r pot.nt.al zones. Zones represent.ng high groundwat.r pot.nt.al cover an area of approximat.ly 331.94 Km2, account.ng for 29.58% of t.e st.dy area. t.e region t.at.represent. moderat. t. good groundwat.r occurrence and dist.ibut.on covers an est.mat.d area of approximat.ly 648.42 Km2, occupying 57.78% of t.e st.dy area. Zones wit. groundwat.r of low pot.nt.al account.for a t.t.l surface area of approximat.ly 141.81 Km2 which is about.12.64% of t.e ent.re st.dy area. Regions t.at.show good t. moderat. and high groundwat.r pot.nt.als, have a wider dist.ibut.on all across t.e st.dy area except.at.t.e sout.ernmost.part. t.e st.dy t.erefore shows t.at.it.is effect.ve in delineat.ng surface pot.nt.al zones and hit.ert. a 2D surface aquifer model for groundwat.r explorat.on campaigns wit.in Obubra and it. environs.

Human act.vit. has been shown t. influence how animals assess t.e risk of predat.on, but.we know lit.le about.t.e spat.al scale of such impact.. We quant.fied how vigilance and flight.behavior in mule deer Odocoileus hemionus varied wit. dist.nce from an area of concent.at.d human act.vit.--a subalpine field st.t.on. An observer walked t.ails at.various dist.nces away from t.e st.t.on looking for deer. Upon encount.r, t.e observer walked t.ward t.e focal animal and not.d t.e dist.nce at.which it.alert.d and direct.d it. at.ent.on t. t.e approaching human （Alert.Dist.nce; AD）, and t.e dist.nce at.which it.fled （Flight.Init.at.on Dist.nce;. FID）. AD and FID bot. increased nonlinearly wit. dist.nce from t.e cent.r of t.e field st.t.on, reaching pla- t.aus around 250 m and 750 m, respect.vely. Deer also t.nded t. flee by st.t.ing or running, rat.er t.an by walking, when far from t.e st.t.on but.t.ey walked away when near t.e st.t.on. t.ese result. indicat. t.at.deer perceive lower risk near a focused area of human act.vit., and t.at.vigilance and flight.behaviors respond on somewhat.different.spat.al scales. t.e concept.of a spat.al ＂human foot.rint. on behavior may be useful for underst.nding how human act.vit.es affect.wildlife

At.high concent.at.ons, t.ese met.ls are known t. have det.iment.l effect. on cert.in insect.herbivores. Using laborat.ry bioassays and art.ficial diet. we invest.gat.d t.e development.and survival of a cosmopolit.n insect.det.it.vore, Megaselia scalaris （Dipt.ra： Phoridae）, exposed t. concent.at.ons of Mn and Ni reaching 2 600 mg Mn/kg and 5 200 mg Ni/kg dry mass （dm） in art.ficial diet. Surprisingly, Ni and Mn at.t.e concent.at.ons t.st.d did not.harm t.is fly. t.eat.ent.groups from diet. wit. 260-2 600 mg Mn/kg dm and 1 300-5 200 mg Ni/kg dm had significant.y short.r larval development.t.mes, overall t.mes t. adult.emergence, and bot. pupariat.on and pupal eclosion t.mes compared t. a cont.ol group. Wing lengt. of females, a correlat. of adult.fit.ess, was also great.r in met.l t.eat.ent.groups. Ot.er measures including rat. of egg hat.h, percent.ge of emerging flies t.at.were female, and wing lengt. of male flies, were not.significant.y different.in met.l t.eat.ent.groups. t. st.dy horseshoe crab Limulus polyphemus spawning behavior and migrat.on over a large-spat.al ext.nt.（〉100 km）, we arrayed fixed st.t.on radio receivers t.roughout.Delaware Bay and deployed radio t.ansmit.ers and archival t.gs on adult.horseshoe crabs prior t. t.eir spawning season. We t.gged and released 160 females and 60 males in 2004 and 217 females in 2005. t.e array covered approximat.ly 140 km of shoreline. Recapt.re rat.s were 〉70% wit. mult.-year recapt.res. We cat.gorized adult.age by carapace wear. Older females t.nded t. spawn earlier in t.e season and more frequent.y t.an young females, but.t.ose t.ndencies were more apparent.in 2004 when spawning overall occurred earlier t.an in 2005 when spawning was delayed possibly due t. decreased wat.r t.mperat.res. t.ming of init.al spawning wit.in a year was correlat.d wit. wat.r t.mperat.re. Aft.r adjust.ng for day of first.spring t.de, t.e day of In＇st.spawning was 4 days earlier for every 1 degree （℃） rise in mean daily wat.r t.mperat.re in May. Sevent. nine % of spawning occurred during night.ime high t.des. Fift. five % of spawning occurred wit.in 3 d of a spring t.de, which was slight.y higher t.an t.e 47% expect.d if spawning was uniformly dist.ibut.d regardless of t.dal cycle. Wit.in t.e same spawning season, males and females were observed spawning or int.rt.dally rest.ng at.more t.an one beach separat.d by 〉5 kin. Bet.een years, most.（77%） did not.ret.rn t. spawn at.t.e same beach. Probabilit. of st.anding was st.ongly age dependent.for males and females wit. older adult. experiencing higher st.anding rat.s. Horseshoe crabs st.ging in t.e shallow wat.rs east.of t.e channel spawned exclusively along t.e east.rn （N J） shoreline, but.t.ose st.ging west.of t.e channel spawned t.roughout.t.e bay. Overall, several insight. emerged from t.e use of radio t.lemet.y, which advances our underst.nding of horseshoe crab ecology and will be useful in conserving t.e Delaware Bay horseshoe crab populat.on and habit.

Dat. securit. is a major cloud comput.ng issue due t. different.usert.ansact.ons in t.e syst.m. t.e evolut.on of crypt.graphy and crypt.graphic analysis are regarded domains of current.research. deoxyribo nucleic acid (DNA) crypt.graphy makes use of DNA as a sensing plat.orm, which is t.en manipulat.d usinga variet. of molecular met.ods. Many securit. mechanisms including knowledgebased aut.ent.cat.on, t.o-fact.r aut.ent.cat.on, adapt.ve aut.ent.cat.on, mult.fact.raut.ent.cat.on and single password aut.ent.cat.on have been deployed. t.ese crypt.graphic t.chniques have been developed t. ensure confident.alit., but.most.oft.em are based on complex mat.emat.cal calculat.ons and equat.ons. In t.e proposed approach, a novel and unique Hybrid helix scut.le-deoxy ribo nucleic acids(HHS-DNA) encrypt.on algorit.m has been proposed which is inspired by DNAcrypt.graphy and Helix scut.le. t.e proposed HHS-DNA is a t.pe of mult.fold binary version of DNA (MF-BDNA). t.e major role of t.is paper is t. present.a mult.fold HHS-DNA algorit.m t. encrypt.t.e cloud dat. assuring more securit. wit. lesscomplexit.. t.e experiment.t.on is carried out.and it.reduces t.e encrypt.on t.me,cipher t.xt.size, and improves t.roughput. In t.e epididymis, epit.elial cell-cell int.ract.ons are mediat.d by adhering junct.ons, necessary for cell adhesion, and by t.ght.junct.ons, which form t.e blood-epididymal barrier. t.e regulat.on of t.ese cellular junct.ons is t.ought.t. represent.a key det.rminant.in t.e process of sperm mat.rat.on wit.in t.e epididymis. t.ght.junct.ons bet.een adjacent.principal cells permit.t.e format.on of a specific microenvironment.in t.e lumen of t.e epididymis t.at.is essent.al for sperm mat.rat.on. We experiment.lly decoupled visual （corolla） and olfact.ry （fragrance） st.muli by present.ng paper corollas and green mesh bags, wit. or wit.out.a freshly-picked nat.ral flower inside. We t.en cont.ast.d t.e behavioral responses of roaches in t.ese t.eat.ent. wit. t.ose t. t.e nat.ral combinat.on of t.ait. in act.al flowers and t.eir respect.ve cont.ol t.eat.ent., measuring t.e roaches＇ frequency of first.visit., mean and t.t.l residence t.me spent.in each t.eat.ent. t.e roaches primarily used olfact.ry cues when approaching O. acaulis flowers at.t.o biologically relevant.spat.al scales. In addit.on, t.e presence of conspecific roaches had a st.ong influence on recruit.ent.t. t.e experiment.l arena, increasing t.e st.t.st.cal differences among t.eat.ent.. Our result. suggest.a primacy of floral fragrance over visual st.muli in t.e foraging responses of B. orient.lis. Olfact.ry cues were necessary and sufficient.t. at.ract.t.e roaches, and t.e visual cues present.d in our manipulat.ons only marginally increased t.eir at.ract.on wit.in a 20 cm diamet.r of t.e st.mulus. t.e full spect.um of floral visit.t.on behavior was not.elicit.d by t.e art.ficial flowers, suggest.ng t.e need for addit.onal t.ct.le or cont.ct.chemosensory st.muli not.provided by paper. In exist.ng lit.rat.re, t.e cont.oller values of LFC are designed using t.me domain approach which is less accurat. t.an t.e proposed met.od. In proposed met.od, t.e cont.oller values are det.rmined by moving t.e right.ost.igenvalues of t.e syst.m t. t.e left.half plane in a quasi-cont.nuous way for a preset.upper bound of t.me delay. t.en t.e robust.ess of t.e proposed cont.oller is assessed by est.mat.ng t.e maximumt.lerable value of t.me delay for maint.ining syst.m st.bilit..
