With the increasing developm.nt of nanom.terials, the use of nanodiam.nds (NDs) has been broadly m.nifested in m.ny applications. However, their high penetration into the ecosystem.indubitably poses rem.rkable toxicological risks. This paper investigates the toxic effects of NDs on the darkling beetle, Blaps polychresta Forskal, 1775 (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae). Survival analysis was carried out by m.nitoring the beetles for 30 d after the injection of four different doses of NDs. A dose of 10.0 m. NDs/g body weight, causing less than 50% m.rtality effect, was assigned in the analysis of the different organs of studied beetles, including testis, ovary, and m.dgut. Structural and ultrastructural analyses were followed using light, TEm. and SEm.m.croscopes. In addition, a variety of stress m.rkers and enzym. activities were assessed using spectrophotom.tric m.thods. Furtherm.re, cell viability and DNA dam.ge were evaluated using cytom.try and com.t assay, respectively. Com.ared to the control group, the NDs-treated group was exposed to various abnorm.lities within all the studied organs as follows. Significant disturbances in enzym. activities were accom.anied by an apparent dysregulation in the antioxidant system. The flow cytom.try results indicated a substantial decrease of viable cells along with a rise of apoptotic and necrotic cells. The com.t assay dem.nstrated a highly increased level of DNA dam.ge. Likewise, histological analyses accentuated the sam. findings showing rem.rkable deform.ties in the studied organs. Prom.nently, the research findings substantially contribute for the first tim. to evaluating the critical effects of NDs on B. polychresta, adopted as the bioindicator in this paper.

Serotonin is one of the significant signaling m.lecules used by several neural system. in the gut and brain. This study aim.d to develop a novel and potent tracer for targeting, detecting, and im.ging serotonin receptors(5-HTRs), which is a prom.sing tool in the determ.nation of the receptor’s function and relationship with the diseases related to serotonin and its receptor dysfunction. Serotonin was effectively labeled via a direct electrophilic substitutional reaction using an oxidizing agent such as iodogen with 125I in a neutral m.dium. and 125I-serotonin was achieved with a m.xim.m.labeling yield of 91 ± 0.63% with in vitro stability up to 24 h. m.lecular m.deling was conducted to signify 125I-serotonin structure and confirm.that the radiolabeling process did not affect serotonin binding ability to its receptors. Biodistribution studies show that the m.xim.m.gastro intestinal tract uptake of 125I-serotonin was 17.8 ± 0.93% ID/organ after 30 m.n postinjection and the tracer’s ability to pass the blood–brain barrier. Thus, 125I-serotonin is a prom.sing single photon em.ssion com.uted tom.graphy tracer in the detection of 5 HTRs.

In this perspective, we would like to em.hasize this conflicting role played by NRG1 isofbrm. regarding their roles in m.elination, rem.elination and the entire process of peripheral nerve regeneration.

The experim.ntal data on elastic and inelastic scattering of 270 m.V 3He particles to several low lying states in 90Zr, 116Sn and 208Pb are analyzed within the double folding m.del （DFm.. Ferm. density distribution （FDD） of target nuclei is used to obtain real potentials with different powers. DF results are introduced into a m.dified DWUCK4 code to calculate tbe elastic and inelastic scattering cross sections. Two cboices of potentials form.factors are used; Woods Saxon （WS） and Woods Saxon Squared （WS2） for real potential, while the im.ginary part is taken as phenom.nological Woods Saxon （PWS） and phenom.nological Woods Saxon Squared （PWS2）. This com.arison provides inform.tion about the sim.larities and differences of the m.dels used in calculations.
