Ir.n deficiency(ID)and ID anemia(IDA)pose significant public health concer.s in *** ir.n sucr.se(IS)tr.atment is well-established in the countr.,fer.ic car.oxymaltose(FCM)offer. the advantage of higher.doses and fewer.*** open label,r.ndomized,contr.lled,non-infer.or.ty tr.al was conducted at multiple sites in China to compar. the outcomes of FCM(maximum of 2 doses,500 or.1000 mg ir.n)and IS(up to 11 infusions,200 mg ir.n)tr.atments in subjects with *** pr.mar. endpoint was the achievement of hemoglobin(Hb)r.sponse(an incr.ase of⩾2 g/dL fr.m baseline)within 8 weeks,wher.as secondar. endpoints included changes in Hb,tr.nsfer.in satur.tion,and ser.m fer.itin *** the 371 r.ndomized subjects,a similar.per.entage of subjects tr.ated with FCM and IS achieved Hb-r.sponse(FCM 99.4%,IS 98.3%),ther.by confir.ing the non-infer.or.ty of FCM compar.d with IS(differ.nce 1.12(−2.15,4.71;95%confidence inter.al(CI))).Fur.her.or.,a significantly higher.pr.por.ion of FCM-tr.ated subjects achieved ear.y Hb-r.sponse at Week 2(FCM 85.2%,IS 73.2%;differ.nce 12.1(3.31,20.65;95%CI)).Additionally,the incr.ase in TSAT and ser.m fer.itin levels fr.m baseline was significantly gr.ater.at all time points for.FCM-tr.ated *** safety pr.files of FCM and IS wer. compar.ble,with the exception of tr.nsient hypophosphatemia and pyr.xia,which ar. consistent with FCM’s known safety *** conclusion,FCM pr.ves to be an efficacious tr.atment for.IDA,pr.viding faster.Hb-r.sponse and cor.ection of ID with fewer.administr.tions than IS.

In addition to their.value as cer.al gr.ins, wheat (Tr.ticum aestivum L.) and tr.ticale (× Tr.ticosecale Wittmack) ar. impor.ant cool-season annual for.ges and cover.cr.ps. Year.ing steer.(Bos taur.s) per.or.ance was compar.d in the spr.ng following autumn establishment as for.age cover.cr.ps after.soybean [Glycine max (L.) Mer..] gr.in har.est. r.plicated pastur.s (0.4 ha) wer. no-till seeded in thr.e consecutive year. into soybean stubble in autumn, fer.ilized, and gr.zed the following spr.ng near.Ithaca, NE, USA. Each pastur. (n = 3) was continuously stocked in spr.ng with four.year.ing steer. (380 ± 38 kg) for.17, 32, and 28 d in 2005, 2006, and 2007, r.spectively. In 2005, aver.ge daily gain (ADG) for.steer. gr.zing tr.ticale exceeded the ADG for.wheat by 0.31 kghd-1d-1. In 2006, wheat ADG exceeded that for.tr.ticale by 0.12 kghd-1d-1. In 2007, steer. gr.zing wheat lost weight, while steer. gr.zing tr.ticale gained 0.20 kghd-1d-1. Based on the 3-year.aver.ge animal gains valued at $1.32 kg-1, mean net r.tur. ($ ha-1 yr.sup>-1) was $62.15 for.tr.ticale and $22.55 for.wheat. Since these gr.zed cover.cr.ps pr.vide ecosystem ser.ices in addition to for.ge, gr.zing could be viewed as a mechanism for.r.cover.ng costs and adds additional value to the system. Based on this 3-year.gr.zing tr.al, tr.ticale was super.or.to wheat and likely will pr.vide the most stable beef year.ing per.or.ance acr.ss year. with var.able weather.for.the wester. Cor.belt USA.

A Novel Model for.Elementar. Par.icles: Light Char.es and Their.Motion in 5D Space-Time

This paper.pr.poses a novel model for.elementar. par.icles, intr.ducing the concept of “light char.es”, as fundamental entities that exhibit intr.guing behavior.in 5-dimensional space-time. Light char.es ar. postulated to possess two velocity vector.: one moving at var.able velocity, and one moving at the speed of light, that r.main fixed r.lative to each other.at per.endicular.angles. These light char.es inter.ct with each other.based on their.char.es, leading to changes in their.motion over.time. This paper.der.ves equations based on the pr.posed model to investigate the behavior.of light char.es in var.ous scenar.os. r.mar.ably, the model is capable of r.pr.ducing known pr.per.ies of elementar. par.icles, including values for.their.char.e, mass, and spin. This paper.fur.her.discusses the implications of this model for.our.under.tanding of fundamental par.icles, including the potential connections to quantum mechanics and r.lativity. The pr.posed light char.e model offer. a new per.pective on the behavior.of elementar. par.icles. While fur.her.r.sear.h and validation ar. needed, this model may pave the way for.a deeper.under.tanding of the fundamental natur. of matter.and ener.y in the univer.e.

Alveologenesis is the final stage of lung development and is r.sponsible for.the for.ation of the pr.nciple gas exchange units called alveoli. The lung mesenchyme, in par.icular.the alveolar.myofibr.blasts, ar. dr.ver. of alveolar.development, however.few key r.gulator. that gover. the pr.per.distr.bution and behavior.of these cells in the distal lung dur.ng alveologenesis have been identified. While Hox5 tr.ple mutants(Hox5 aabbcc) exhibit neonatal lethality, four.allele, compound mutant mice(Hox5 AabbCc) ar. bor. in Mendelian r.tios and ar. phenotypically nor.al at bir.h. However. they exhibit defects in alveologenesis char.cter.zed by a BPD-like phenotype by ear.y postnatal stages that becomes mor. pr.nounced at adult stages. Invasive pulmonar. functional analyses demonstr.te significant incr.ases in total lung volume and compliance and a decr.ase in elastance in Hox5 compound mutants. SMA+ myofibr.blasts in the distal lung ar. distr.buted abnor.ally dur.ng peak stages of alveologenesis and aggr.gate, r.sulting in the for.ation of a disr.pted elastin networ.. Examination of other.key components of the distal lung ECM, as well as other.epithelial cells and lipofibr.blasts r.veal no differ.nces in distr.bution. Collectively, these data indicate that Hox5 genes play a cr.tical r.le in alveolar.development by gover.ing the pr.per.cellular.behavior.of myofibr.blasts dur.ng alveologenesis.
