Background:While Enterobacteriaceae bacteria are commonly found in the healthy human gut,their colonization of other body parts can potentially evolve into serious infections and health *** investigate a graph-based machine learning model to predict risks of inpatient colonization by multidrug-resistant(MdR)***:Colonization prediction was defined as a binary task,where the goal is to predict whether a patient is colonized by MdR Enterobacteriaceae in an undesirable body part during their hospital *** capture topological features,interactions among patients and healthcare workers were modeled using a graph structure,where patients are described by nodes and their interactions are described by ***,a graph neural network(GNN)model was trained to learn colonization patterns from the patient network enriched with clinical and spatiotemporal ***:The GNN model achieves performance between 0.91 and 0.96 area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUROC)when trained in inductive and transductive settings,respectively,up to 8%above a logistic regression baseline(0.88).Comparing network topologies,the configuration considering ward-related edges(0.91 inductive,0.96 transductive)outperforms the configurations considering caregiver-related edges(0.88,0.89)and both types of edges(0.90,0.94).For the top 3 most prevalent MdR Enterobacteriaceae,the AUROC varies from 0.94 for Citrobacter freundii up to 0.98 for Enterobacter cloacae using the best-performing GNN ***:Topological features via graph modeling improve the performance of machine learning models for Enterobacteriaceae colonization *** could be used to support infection prevention and control programs to detect patients at risk of colonization by MdR Enterobacteriaceae and other bacteria families.

Building Information Models (BIM) have revealed themselves as a good tool to support construction actions, due to their ability to store all the information in one digital model and to promote collaboration between all participants in a project. Teaching Civil Engineering requires a permanent updating of knowledge concerning procedures and technologies used in the construction industry. In this sense, the school should seek to adapt its curriculum to include innovative issues to support new technologies. So, in an educational context, the aim of the present work is to disseminate knowledge concerning the benefits provided when implementing BIM in several aspects within the construction activity. In a Civil Engineering school some topics of BIM application were developed by students within MSc researches. The text describes in detail some of the main topics, showing distinct use of BIM: Generation and use of a 4d/BIM model to support construction planning;coordination of construction project based on BIM methodology;conflict analysis based in an architectural 3d/BIM model. Several study cases were modelled and analyzed, confronting the BIM use with the traditional way when performing the same tasks, and consequently recommendations were carried out. This work contributed to demonstrate the advantages of employing BIM for building tasks purposes when compared with the traditional process, and in a didactic context the main objective is to add competitive skills in the training of future civil engineers.

Relations between the countries of Latin America and the Middle East have been an under researched topic within their respective fields.②This can be attributed,at least partly,to the fact that both regions have a comparatively low level of diplomatic and economic interactions,when contrasted,for example,with relations between Latin America and the European Union,or between the Gulf Cooperation Council and *** the specific case of Brazil,even though the latter has decades old relations with selected Arab countries,such as Iraq,very little has been written about its interactions with the Arab world in *** of the reasons for this may be attributed to the dearth of issues of high politics underscoring this relationship,issues that if present could assist in capturing media and academic *** article seeks to contribute to the study of both regions by focusing on a particular moment of Brazilian foreign policy when relations with the Arab world were at their peak in terms of visibility.

This essay argues that black and white cinema spawned a resistance to changing times that is still very present in the new generation of directors who follow classic film traditions while subverting them with consistent narrative *** Artist,the best picture Oscar award winner in 2012,is an example of this resistance as it pays homage to some of the greatest silent films of the first two or three decades of cinema history.“The dark Side of the Screen”aims to underline that there is an unchanging power of the phantasmagoria so present in black and white movies,produced not only in the silent era but also in film noir through lighting effects and camera angles which characterize the work of major noir directors like Fritz Lang,Billy Wilder,and Orson Welles,who knew everything about the unutterable mysteries hidden on the dark side of the screen.

In order to highlight the contribution of Literature to the study of domestic Violence,this essay will reflect on the relevance of some Anglo-American literary works,integrated in the domestic Gothic or domestic Noir,a subgenre of the psychological thriller,distinguished by the peculiarity of representing a woman in danger as its main *** family can be the most commonly considered luminous space of harmony,affection and quiet domesticity,but everything can turn upside down whenever this stereotype is reversed *** so-called domestic noir,a new genre popularized in 2013,deals with these dualities,demonstrating that gothic fiction has always been interested in family conflicts and domestic violence in its most varied forms,turning them into sources of terror so relevant to our time.

In this study,the sperm ultrastructure of three species of Idarnes genus was investigated using light and transmission electron *** morphology of the three species was similar to that of most Chalcidoidea,with helicoidally twisted nucleus and *** head region consists of an acrosome and a nucleus;the nucleus-flagellum transition region characterized by the presence of mitochondrial derivatives and the centriolar adjunct;a flagellum region,which includes the axoneme with microtubular arrangement 9+9+2 and two mitochondrial ***,the sperm of these three species exhibit features that discriminate one species from each other:(1)only one species,Idarnes sp.2(carme group)exhibited an extracellular sheath surrounding the anterior portion of the nucleus,which extends to the anterior region of the flagellum,but it did not present filaments;(2)the acrosome in the three species was quite different,Idarnes sp.1 and Idarnes sp.2(carme group)has two compartments(acrosomal and subacrosomal vesicles)while Idarnes sp.3(flavicollis group)has a third compartment(perforatorium);(3)the centriolar adjunct elongated and its location among the mitochondrial derivatives is similar for the three species analyzed;(4)mitochondrial derivatives differ between the species,with triangular(Idarnes sp.1 and sp.3)and elongated or flat shaped(Idarnes sp.2)*** data shows that sperm structure may differ within the same genus and confirms the potential of these cells in phylogenetic and taxonomic analyses in the Chalcidoidea superfamily,as well as in Hymenoptera in general.

Case of acute hepatitis E with concomitant signs of autoimmunity

Sporadic cases of acute viral hepatitis E have been described in developed countries, despite the more common occurrence in endemic areas and developing countries. We present the case of a 58 years old Portuguese female, with no epidemiological relevant factors, admitted with acute hepatitis with positive anti-nuclear antibodies, anti-smooth muscle antibody and high serum gamma globulin (> 1.5 fold increase). Serologies for hepatitis A virus, hepatitis B virus, hepatitis C virus, Epstein-Barr virus, cytomegalovirus, hereditary sensory neuropathy and varicella zoster virus were negative. Liver biopsy histology revealed changes compatible with autoimmune hepatitis. Prednisolone and azathioprine was started. She tested positive for immunoglobulin M anti hepatitis E virus (HEV) with detectable viremia by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) technique. HEV-RNA was confirmed throughRT-PCR in a liver specimen, establishing the diagnosis of acute hepatitis E. Immunosuppression was stopped. She clinically improved, with resolution of laboratory abnormalities. Therefore, we confirmed acute hepatitis E as the diagnosis. We review the literature to elucidate about HEV infection and its autoimmune effects.
