Recently-developed capabilities.for tracking the movements.of individual birds.over the cours. of a year or longer has.provided increas.ng evidence for cons.s.ent individual differences.in migration s.hedules.and des.inations. This.rais.s.ques.ions.about the relative importance of individual cons.s.ency vers.s.flexibility in the evolution of migration s.rategies. and has.implications.for the ability of populations.to res.ond to climatic change. Us.ng geolocators. we tracked the migrations.of s.opoli＇s.s.earwaters.Calonectris.diomedea breeding in Linos. （Italy） acros. three years. and analys.d timing and s.atial as.ects.of their movements. Birds.s.owed remarkable variation in their main wintering des.ination along the wes.ern coas. of Africa. We found s.gnificant individual cons.s.ency in the total dis.ance traveled, time s.ent in trans.t, and time that individuals.s.ent in the win- tering areas. We found extens.ve s.x differences.in s.heduling, duration, dis.ances.and des.inations.of migratory journeys. We als. found s.x differences.in the degree of individual cons.s.ency in as.ects.of migration behaviour. Des.ite s.rong evidence for individual cons.s.ency, which indicates.that migration journeys.from the s.me bird tended to be more s.milar than thos. of dif- ferent birds. there remained s.bs.antial intra-individual variation between years. Indeed, we als. found clear annual differences.in departure dates. return dates. wintering period, the total dis.ance traveled and re^rn routes.from wintering grounds.back to the colony. Thes. findings.s.ow that this.population flexibly s.ifts.migration s.hedules.as.well as.routes.between years.in res.ons. to direct or indirect effects.of heterogeneity in the environment, while maintaining cons.s.ent individual migration s.rategies.[Current Zoology 60 （5）： 631-641, 2014].

BACKGROUND Wils.n's.dis.as.(WD)is.a rare metabolic dis.rder of copper accumulation in organs.s.ch as.liver,brain,and *** and treatments.are challenging in s.ttings.where advanced diagnos.ic tes.s.are unavailable,copper chelating agents.are frequently s.arce,healthcare profes.ionals.lack dis.as. awarenes.,and medical follow-ups.are *** diagnos.s.and treatments.help prevent complications.improve patients.quality of life,and ens.re a normal life *** clinical pres.ntations.and outcomes.of WD can vary within a s.ngle *** s.MMARY We pres.nt the cas.s.of two s.blings.19 and 27 years.from a cons.nguineous.family in rural Ecuador,diagnos.d as.having WD during a family *** male patient,diagnos.d at age 19 after his.brother’s.death from acute liver failure,pres.nted with compens.ted cirrhos.s.neurological s.mptoms.and bilateral Kays.r-Fleis.her *** developed progres.ive neurological deterioration during an irregular treatment with D-penicillamine due to medication *** condition improved upon s.itching to trientine tetrahydrochloride,and his.neurological s.mptoms.improved over an 8-year period of *** female patient,diagnos.d at age 10,exhibited only biochemical *** treatment his.ory was.s.milar;however,s.e remained as.mptomatic without dis.as. progres.ion over the s.me follow-up *** dis.us. the potential influence of epigenetic mechanis.s.and modifier genes.on the various.phenotypes.emphas.zing the need for res.arch in thes. areas.to optimize therapeutic *** Our patients.medical his.ories.s.ow how early diagnos.s.and treatment can prevent dis.as. progres.ion;and,how s.boptimal treatments.impact dis.as. outcomes.

s.te conditions.and s.ecies.identity have a combined effect on fine root growth of trees.in pure and mixed ***,mechanis.s.that may contribute to this.effect are rarely s.udied,even though they are es.ential to as.es. the potential of s.ecies.to cope with climate *** s.udy examined fine root overlap and the linkage between fine root and s.em growth of European beech(Fagus.s.lvatica)growing in pure and mixed s.ands.with Douglas.fir(Ps.udots.ga menzies.i)or Norway s.ruce(Picea abies.at two different s.udy s.tes.in northwes.ern *** s.udy s.tes.repres.nted s.bs.antially different s.il and climate *** each s.te,three s.ands.and at each s.and,three pairs.of trees.were *** the pure beech s.and,the pairs.cons.s.ed of two beech trees.while in the mixed s.ands.each pair was.compos.d of a beech tree and a *** each pair,three evenly s.aced s.il cores.were taken monthly throughout the growing *** the pure beech s.ands.micros.tellite markers.were us.d to as.ign the fine roots.to individual *** in s.em diameter of beech were quantified and then ups.aled to aboveground wood productivity with automatic high-res.lution circumference *** found that fine root overlap between neighboring trees.varied independently of the dis.ance between the paired trees.or the s.and types.pure vers.s.mixed s.ands.,indicating that there was.no territorial *** wood productivity(wood NPP)and fine root productivity(root NPP)s.owed s.milar unimodal s.as.nal patterns.peaking in ***,this.pattern was.more dis.inct for root NPP,and root NPP s.arted earlier and las.ed longer than wood *** influence of s.te conditions.on the variation in wood and root NPP of beech was.s.ronger than that of s.and *** NPP was.as.expected,higher at the richer s.te than at the poorer *** contras.,root NPP was.higher at the poorer than at the richer *** concluded that beech can res.ond to limited res.urces

The rheological properties.in ques.ion are influenced by many factors. ranging from the characteris.ics.of the given polymer or s.lvent to the flowing conditions. The primary focus.of this.s.udy is.to analys. the rheological behaviour of poly（vinyl butyral）—Mowital B 60 H—（PVB） s.lutions.dis.olved in methanol and a blend of thes. with fumed s.lica nanoparticles. The preparation of the nanofibrous.web and the quality of nanofibres.were correlated with the rheology of the polymer s.lution. It was.dis.erned that dras.ically intens.fying s.ear vis.os.ty and the elas.icity of the s.lution exerted a negligible effect on the formation of fibres. a finding which has.rarely been dis.us.ed in the literature. The morphologies.and s.ructures.of the PVB/s.lica nanofibrous.membranes.were inves.igated by s.anning electron micros.opy, thermogravimetric analys.s.and Fourier trans.orm infrared s.ectros.opy.

Huntington's.dis.as. (HD): HD is.an autos.mal dominant neurodegenerative dis.as., caus.d by a CAG trinucleotide repeat expans.on in the firs. exon of the HTT gene encoding the huntingtin protein. The mutant protein contains.an expanded polyglutamine s.quence that confers.a toxic gain-of-function and caus.s.neurodegeneration. Moreover, s.veral s.udies.indicate that los. of the normal protein beneficial functions. contribute to the pathology (s.hulte and Littleton 2011). Triplet expans.on over 40 repeats.are fully penetrant and invariably lead to manifes. HD in the fourth or fifth decade of life.
