Mount Semeru,an active volcano in East Java,Indonesia,erupted on December 4,2021,following extreme rainfall that caused an avalanche of hot pyroclastic flows and *** tropospheric conditions and dominant particle components in the atmosphere can be monitored using global Navigation Satellite System(gNSS)technology and remote sensing *** signal propagation delay in Precise Point Positioning(PPP)processing can be used to determine Zenith Tropospheric Delay(ZTD)and Precipitable Water Vapor(PWV)variables so that atmospheric conditions can be *** addition,by using remote sensing satellite data,it is possible to obtain rainfall data with high temporal resolution as well as the dominant particle and gas content values during *** the eruption period,the high value of PWV was dominated by the high intensity of precipitation during the rainy *** rainfall before the eruption caused activity inside the mountain to increase,which occurred in avalanche type *** from that,the atmosphere around Semeru was also dominated by SO_(2)content,which spreaded for tens of ***_(2)content began to be detected significantly by remote sensing sensors on December 7,*** this study,deformation and atmospheric monitoring were also carried out using low-cost gNSS at the Semeru Monitoring Station on September 9-15,*** results of the ZTD and ZWD values show the dominance of the wet component,which is directly proportional to rainfall activity in this period.

Active organic optical waveguide materials(OOWMs)incorporating room temperature phosphorescence(RTP)hold significant promise for diverse applications in photonic and optoelectronic *** this potential,realizing active RTP optical waveguides with large-sized ordered structures and minimal light loss remains a formidable *** address this issue,we present a groundbreaking thermoplastic active OOWM with low light loss,leveraging room temperature phosphorescent liquid crystalline polymer(LCP).This innovative material can be easily synthesized through the copolymerization of phosphorescent and liquid crystalline *** resulting RTP copolymer exhibits a nematic liquid crystal phase with a phosphorescence lifetime of approximately 0.15 ms and an afterglow duration of around 1 *** the excellent processability of LCP,we successfully produce meter-scale fibers via melt *** RTP LCP fibers,characterized by a high orientation of mesogens along the fiber axis,demonstrate superior light confinement and efficient light conduction compared to unoriented samples,resulting in a low optical loss coefficient of 0.13 dB/***,the thermal responsiveness of the RTP LCP optical waveguide enables its use as a photo *** pioneering work paves the way for the design of new OOWMs tailored for advanced photonics and optoelectronics devices.

Diabetic retinopathy is a leading cause of preventable vision impairment and a common complication of diabetes. Diabetic retinopathy screening can identify early changes in the retina so treatment can be given before vision impairment or blindness occurs. The aim of this audit is to evaluate the diabetic eye screening pathway in Malta to reduce the risk of vision impairment among diabetic patients through the identification and effective management of sight-threatening diabetic retinopathy by evaluating adherence to diabetic retinopathy screening guidelines and identifying areas for improvement within the screening pathway at Mater Dei Hospital (MDH). The practical implications of the audit’s findings highlight the importance of more awareness of current guidelines on the recommended time of first eye examination and routine minimum follow up interval at the Endocrinology Department at MDH. 26.7% of the doctors participating in this audit perform fundoscopy on initial assessment only, while 13.3% perform fundoscopy every visit. On the other hand, 60% of the participants never perform fundoscopy.

Exploring the structure-activity relationship between the performance of gas sensors and the structure of semiconductor metal oxide(SMO)nanomaterials is crucial for understanding and designing gas-sensing materials and overcoming the application limitations of SMO-based gas *** of a single SMO microstructure provides a promising solution to address this scientific problem due to its controllable *** this study,we control the grain boundary(gB)density of Fe_(2)O_(3)nanomaterials using a simple solvothermal *** have similar chemical compositions and crystal phases,providing an ideal platform for studying the influence of the gB density on the gas-sensing ***-sensing tests showed that the Fe_(2)O_(3)-1 sensor with medium gB density and the Fe_(2)O_(3)-2 sensor with high gB density had higher sensitivity and selectivity than the Fe_(2)O_(3)-0 sensors with low gB density before reaching the optimal operating ***,when the gB density increased,the response to acetone decreased slightly,whereas the optimal operating temperature *** work highlights the unique performance of the gB density in enhancing the gas sensitivity of a single SMO.

Deep and ultra-deep reservoirs have gradually become the primary focus of hydrocarbon exploration as a result of a series of significant discoveries in deep hydrocarbon exploration *** reservoirs present unique challenges due to their deep burial depth(4500-8882 m),low matrix permeability,complex crustal stress conditions,high temperature and pressure(HTHP,150-200℃,105-155 MPa),coupled with high salinity of formation ***,the costs associated with their exploitation and development are exceptionally *** deep and ultra-deep reservoirs,hydraulic fracturing is commonly used to achieve high and stable *** hydraulic fracturing,a substantial volume of fluid is injected into the ***,statistical analysis reveals that the flowback rate is typically less than 30%,leaving the majority of the fluid trapped within the ***,hydraulic fracturing in deep reservoirs not only enhances the reservoir permeability by creating artificial fractures but also damages reservoirs due to the fracturing fluids *** challenging“three-high”environment of a deep reservoir,characterized by high temperature,high pressure,and high salinity,exacerbates conventional forms of damage,including water sensitivity,retention of fracturing fluids,rock creep,and proppant *** addition,specific damage mechanisms come into play,such as fracturing fluid decomposition at elevated temperatures and proppant diagenetic reactions at HTHP ***,the foremost concern in deep oil and gas development lies in effectively assessing the damage inflicted on these reservoirs by hydraulic fracturing,comprehending the underlying mechanisms,and selecting appropriate ***'s noteworthy that the majority of existing studies on reservoir damage primarily focus on conventional reservoirs,with limited attention given to deep reservoirs and a lack of systematic *** light of this,our approach entails initially summarizin
