Previous studies in literatures adequately emphasized that inserting fins into phase change material is among the most promising techniques to augment thermal performance of shell-and-tube latent heat thermal energy storage *** this study,the novel unequal-length fins are designed from the perspective of synergistic benefits of heat transfer and energy storage performance,and the effects of arrangement,number and total length of unequal-length fins are numerically *** show that utilization of fins with ascending length,when short and long fins are located in the inlet and outlet of heat transfer fluid respectively,can further promote the heat transfer and energy storage performance compared with equal length fins,and a maximum 6.17%and 0.43%increment of heat transfer performance and stored energy is achieved in full melting time,*** number of unequal-length fins plays a major role in the energy storage,and 18.95%and 0.91%improvement of heat transfer performance and stored energy is realized when equipped with 2 unequal-length fins.A 21.17%improvement of the heat transfer performance is obtained when the total length of unequal-length fins is 18 *** present study is helpful to make further efforts to enhance heat transfer and energy storage of shell-and-tube latent heat thermal energy storage unit with unequal-length fins.

Electrochemotherapy is a local ablative therapy that increases the cytotoxicity of either bleomycin or cisplatin by applying electric pulses(electroporation)to *** has already been widely used throughout Europe for the treatment of various types of human and veterinary cutaneous tumors,with an objective response rate ranging from 70%-90%,depending on the tumor ***,electrochemotherapy was introduced for the treatment of primary liver tumors,such as hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).The complete response rate was 85%per treated lesion,with a durable ***,electrochemotherapy could become a treatment of choice for HCC,especially after achieving a transition from an open surgery approach to a percutaneous approach that uses dedicated *** elicits a local immune response and can be considered an in situ ***,among others,is a potentially immunogenic tumor;thus,electrochemotherapy could boost adjuvant immunotherapy to achieve a better and longer-lasting antitumor ***,therapeutic strategies that combine electrochemotherapy with immune checkpoint inhibitors or adjuvant treatment with cytokines are indicated for *** therapy using electroporation as a delivery system for plasmid DNA coding for interleukin-12 is a highly promising *** electroporation approach has shown efficacy in preclinical settings and veterinary oncology and is awaiting translation for the treatment of liver tumors,i.e.,HCC.

AIM To investigate whether gut maturation could be induced precociously in an athymic T-cell deficient neonatal rat *** Fourteen day-old athymic(nude) rats(NIH-Foxn 1 rnu) were gavaged with either phytohaemagglutinin-a lectin from red kidney beans(PHA); trypsin-a protease(Prot); or water-vehicle(control) as a single dose on one day or once a day for 3-day. The nude rats were either nurtured by their mothers or cross-fostered by conventional foster dams of the Sprague-Dawley strain from days 3-5 after birth. At 17 d of age, 72 h after administration of the first treatment, intestinal macromolecular permeability was tested in vivo, prior to euthanasia, after which blood and gut organs were *** Provocation with both, PHA and protease, resulted in increased gut growth and maturation in nude rat pupsindependent of nursing. Foetal-type enterocytes were replaced by non-vacuolated adult-type enterocytes in the distal small intestine epithelium. Sofosbuvir is one of the new direct-acting antiviral drugs against hepatitis C virus(HCV) infection. This drug has recently been launched into the market, and generic versions of the medication are expected to be produced by local drug producers in some countries. Therefore, new methods are required to control sofosbuvir in pharmaceuticals. In the present study, a new method based on reversed phase(RP)-ultra-high performance liquid chromatography(UHPLC) coupled to diode array detection(DAD) and mass spectrometry(MS) was developed to facilitate the qualitative and quantitative analysis of sofosbuvir in film coated tablets. A wavelength of 260 nm was selected to perform a cost-effective quantification and the method showed adequate linearity,with an R^2 value of 0.9998, and acceptable values of accuracy(75%–102%) and precision(residual standard deviation armaceutical dosage forms, but also for potential degradants.

Cleaning method of InSb [111] B of n-InSb [111] A/B for the growth of epitaxial layers by liquid phase epitaxy

The crystal structure of InSb [111] A/B surfaces shows that this structure is polarized. This means that the surfaces of InSb [111] A and InSb [1^-1^- 1^-] B contain two different crystallized directions and they have different physical and chemical properties. Experiments were carried out on the InSb [ 111 ] A/B surfaces, showing that tartaric acid etchant could create a very smooth surface on the InSb [1^-1^- 1^-] B without any traces of oxides and etch pit but simultaneously create etch pit on InSb [ 111 ] A surfaces. After lapping and polishing, some particles remained on the InSb [1^-1^- 1^-] B surface, they could not be removed easily by standard cleaning process and if these particles remain on the surface of the substrate, the growth layer was not uniform and some island-like regions were observed. The purpose of this work is to remove these particles on the lnSb [1^-1^- 1^-] B surface. Some morphology images of both surfaces, InSb [11 1] A/B, will be presented.

Aquatic fungi play an important role in litter decomposition in aquatic *** in view the importance of aquatic fungi,diversity of these organisms was studied in two freshwater ecosystems of Gaur River and Khurji Nala Jabalpur Madhya Pradesh *** the present study,34 fungal species and 6 chromista species have been recorded on decomposing *** number of fungal genera were recorded in submerged litter samples of Tectona grandis followed by Dendroclamus *** maximum percentage frequencies of various fungal species which colonize litter of different tree species were also *** cluster analysis revealed that different fungal communities on various plant hosts vary significantly.
