Introduction: To evaluate the clinical effectiveness of Gla-300 units/mL (Gla-300) in the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes (T2DM) uncontrolled by basal insulin in real-life clinical settings in the Czech Republic (TOPAZ study). Methods: TOPAZ was a prospective, multi-center, non-interventional, 6-month study. Of the 312 patients screened, 289 were evaluated at month 6. The primary objective was the change of HbA1c after 6 months. The proportion of patients with HbA1c Results: HbA1c decreased significantly after 6 months (mean change 0.9% ± 1.1% DCCT [−9.9 ± 11.6 mmol/mol], p −1.8 ± 3.1 mmol/L) as well as the incidence of hypoglycemia decreased by 49% (p 0.0001) while no weight gain was observed. No significant safety signals were identified.

The contribution deals with the experimental and numerical investigation of compressible flow through the tip-section turbine blade cascade with the blade 54″ long. Experimental investigations by means of optical(interferometry and schlieren method) and pneumatic measurements provide more information about the behaviour and nature of basic phenomena occurring in the profile cascade flow field. The numerical simulation was carried out by means of the EARSM turbulence model according to Hellsten [5] completed by the bypass transition model with the algebraic equation for the intermittency coefficient proposed by Straka and P?íhoda [6] and implemented into the in-house numerical code. The investigation was focused particularly on the effect of shock waves on the shear layer development including the laminar/turbulent transition. Interactions of shock waves with shear layers on both sides of the blade result usually in the transition in attached and/ or separated flow and so to the considerable impact to the flow structure and energy losses in the blade cascade.

Cerium dioxide was used for the first time as reactive sorbent for the degradation of the organophosphate pesticides para-thion methyl, chlorpyrifos, dichlofenthion, fenchlorphos, and prothiofos, as well as of some chemical warfare agents-nerve gases soman and O-ethyl S-[2-（diisopropylamino） ethyl] methylphosphonothioate （VX）. CeO2 specimens were prepared by calcination of basic cerous carbonate obtained by precipitation from an aqueous solution. The CeO2 samples containing certain amounts （1 wt.%-5 wt.%） of the neighboring lanthanides （La, pr, Nd） were prepared in a similar way from pure lanthanide salts. It was shown that ceria accelerated markedly the decomposition of parathion methyl causing the cleavage of the P-O-aryl bond in the pesticide molecule. A similar reaction mechanism was proposed for the degradation of other organophosphate pesticides and nerve agents. The degradation times （reaction half-times） were in an order of minutes in the presence of CeO2, compared to hours or days under common environ-mental conditions. The reaction in suitable organic solvents allowed conversions of about 90%for parathion methyl loading of 20 mg pesticide/g CeO2 within 2 h with a reactant half-life in the order of 0.1 min. The key parameter governing the degradation efficiency of CeO2 was the temperature during calcination. At optimum calcination temperature （about 773.15 K）, the produced ceria retained a sufficiently high surface area, and attained an optimum degree of crystallinity （related to a number of crystal defects, and thus poten-tial reactive sites）. The presence of other lanthanides somewhat decreased the reaction rate, but this effect was not detrimental and permitted the possible use of chemically impure ceria as a reactive sorbent. Molecular diversity and development of the Lactobacillus community in the intestinal tract, as influenced by age and intestinal compartment, were studied in one litter of 12 conventionally raised piglets. Piglets were euthanized at each week （3 animals per time）. Digesta and tissue samples from stomach, duodenum, jejunum, ileum, caecum, colon, and rectum were collected and analysed by using 16S ribosomal RNA-based methods. DGGE （denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis） profiles revealed that the Lactobacillus communities throughout the GI tract from duodenum to rectum showed good stability at same age. This indicates that fecal Lactobacillus communities can effectively represent the intestinal community. Two dominant bands were found in tissue samples of the small intestine, suggesting that the lactobacilli can adhere to the small intestinal wall. The Lactobacillus communities in different GI tract compartments developed over time. A successional change of Lactobacillus communities was observed from birth, through creep feeding to one week after weaning, showing a trend from simple to complex and back to simple. Furthermore, a clone library of Lactobacillus spp. 16S rRNA gene sequences were generated from jejunal and colonic chymes. Six dominant DGGE bands generated from jejunal chymes were matched with sequences that show 94-98% similarity to the bands derived from L. reuteri, L. delbrueckii, and L. crispatus. Seven dominant DGGE bands generated from colon chymes were matched with sequences that show 88-99% similarity to those derived from L. reuteri, L. delbrueckii, L. amylovorus/L. sobrius, and L. acidophilus. Amplicons related to L. reuteri were found in all DGGE fingerprints from jejunal digesta of age of weeks 1, 3, and 4. Amplicons related to L. amylovorus/L. sobrius were present in all DGGE fingerprints from colonic digesta of age of week 1, 3, and 4. AIM: To investigate feasibility and accuracy of nearinfrared fluorescence imaging using indocyanine green: nanocolloid for sentinel lymph node(SLN) detection in gastric ***: A prospective, single-institution, phaseI feasibility trial was conducted. Patients suffering from gastric cancer and planned for gastrectomy were included. During surgery, a subserosal injection of 1.6 m L ICG:Nanocoll was administered around the tumor. NIR fluorescence imaging of the abdominal cavity was performed using the Mini-FLARE? NIR fluorescence imaging system. Lymphatic pathways and SLNs were visualized. Of every detected SLN, the corresponding lymph node station, signal-to-background ratio and histopathological diagnosis was determined. Patients underwent standard-of-care gastrectomy. Detected SLNs outside the standard dissection planes were also resected and ***: Twenty-six patients were enrolled. Four patients were excluded because distant metastases were found during surgery or due to technical failure of the injection. In 21 of the remaining 22 patients, at least 1 SLN was detected by NIR Fluorescence imaging(mean 3.1 SLNs; range 1-6). In 8 of the 21 patients, tumor-positive LNs were found. Overall accuracy of the technique was 90%(70%-99%; 95%CI), which decreased by higher p T-stage(100%, 100%, 100%, 90%, 0% for respectively Tx, T1, T2, T3, T4 tumors). All NIR-negative SLNs were completely effaced by tumor. Mean fluorescence signal-to-background ratio of SLNs was 4.4(range 1.4-19.8). In 8 of the 21 patients, SLNs outside the standard resection plane were identified, that contained malignant cells in 2 ***: This study shows successful use of ICG:Nanocoll as lymphatic tracer for SLN detection in gastric cancer. Moreover, tumor-containing LNs outside the standard dissection planes were identified.
